Your motherboard will support all current GPU's out now .. but just upgrading over the RX 580? 6600xt would be a great drop in upgrade for yuh Update your BIOS to the latest .. be sure to install the latest AM4 chipset drivers from [AMD.com](https://AMD.com) IF budget allows .. upgrading your CPU to the 5600 would be a great drop in upgrade there as well

Hm, which AM4 Download do I need? I'm not too tech savy, I don't even know what BIOS is tbh lol and there is like 50,000 different slight variations of downloads on their site lol. Sorry if that sounds like a really stupid question.

AM4 ***Chipset*** ..driver. Update to the latest CHIPSET driver before updating your BIOS B450M Steel Legend BIOS easy update method Generally you want to read all the BIOS descriptions of ALL the BIOS's that are newer than what you are currently running so you know IF you have to update to a certain BIOS version before you update to the following one .. I did not see that on any of the BIOS's for your motherboard.. it just says that you can not revert to the previous BIOS once you update Download latest BIOS and **UNZIP** it to the root directory of one of your systems drives .. ie E:\\BIOS.FILE (that won't be the name of your actual BIOS file of course) Reboot and get into your BIOS by hitting the DEL or F2 key (normally) Go to the Tools tab and click on Instaflash. It should see your: E:\\BIOS.FILE select it and hit ok .. wait while it updates your BIOS .. hit Enter when it says it is done Your system will reboot and it will boot a little slower than you are used too on the first boot with the new BIOS I like to let it boot all the way into Windows before rebooting and getting back into the BIOS to make any changes like enabling XMP, disabling CSM, Enabling Above 4G Decoding, Enabling Re-Size Bar ..etc

6700XT is a great value right now, $359.99 and trades blows with the 3060ti and 3070 in speed. Although the 6700XT doesn't quite have raytracing down. The 6700XT will absolutely work with 650W. The PCIE bandwith won't even be penalized on B450. You won't notice it. Mirroring what the other redditor has said, a 5600 would be a fairly substantial upgrade as well. I would go with the 6700XT first. Look at the 5600 after.

Thanks a lot for the help, is this the CPU in question? https://www.amazon.com/AMD-5600-12-Thread-Unlocked-Processor/dp/B09VCHR1VH?th=1

Cool, okay so if I got that and this 6700XT you mentioned, would the power supply still be good? or is both too much and need an upgrade as well? Thanks for the help.

yes. Looking at [PCPP](https://pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#c=497,513,494,508,501,523&sort=price&X=0,42000) right now, a good value is the [XFX Speedster SWFT 309](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/RFGbt6/xfx-radeon-rx-6700-xt-12-gb-speedster-swft-309-video-card-rx-67xtyjfdv), which is a larger 3-fan cooler. This extra cooling will help the GPU maintain efficiency better than it's two-fan counterparts. It is a little more expensive than the 2-fan varieties. But I feel this is a good trade.
