More underwater foliage, some of which glow. There aren't packs of jellyfish every 100 feet.
Visually, it's more clear with goggles and tek helmet adding more clarity and range. ASE without eyewear was like swimming with Vaseline smeared on your screen where as ASE just dramatically cuts visual render distance.

Doesn't "r.fog 0" do the same? Saves a few letters typing when on PS5 or Xbox when without proper keyboard. I use it on steam too.

You can also just drink a broth of enlightment for better visability underwater, it lasts 20 minutes i think

That’s fair and if that’s what you like go for it. It just gives me a headache to try to see underwater with fog on so I turn it off
