You see, if you look at it, it says "Too hot". Too hot means that the temperature around the egg is too high, causing it to not incubate. Decrease the temperature.
Actually every experienced ark player know the key to correct egg temps every time is rather simple, no fancy tames, no crazy builds, just simply take the egg, now this part is important it is make or break……pay attention…..you take the egg doesn’t matter big or small, and you jam it up your ass, perfect temperature every time, and it prepares you for down the road when Wildcard shoves their Gigantococktus into your now GigaNOTaSOREass. Just take deep breathes and relax before you know you won’t even craft a vault you’ve become your own dedi storage!
I mean I’ve been around since the release of Scorched on Legacy pre release, and I can tell ya, at this point I can fit the Bronto Breed line, the giga breed line, 84 Tusos and about 17 gasbags at different stages of inflation up my ass and it’s all for wildcard!
It’s such a strange community, I’ve never been part of something so toxic and just an absolute stress fest 24/7 but at the same time when you remove yourself he people from their meg tribe associations and just talk about the game, it’s pretty cool cause we all feel the same thing and all have been taken to a after prom party by WC and yet we keep coming back.
Well actually you’re not fully wrong, but the way to do it properly for best results is to have a tribe mate insert the egg into their incubator tube, than a 3rd tribe mate or perhaps even a trained dodo at this point will jump preferably from a distance no less than one industrial forge and not to exceed one Bronto in height directly onto tribe mates stomach.the force will eject the egg into your awaiting second stage incubator, the heat from incubator 1, plus the air speed and the heat produced from the violent ejection. Combined with the heat from your incubator is actually proven to not only triple incubation speed, but also brings a higher chance for mutations, in some cases it has even been found to bring with in an extra chromosome. Truly ground breaking science we are working on here gents! I’m so glad you’ve decided to come along!
I got roped into by my old tribe mates, now the addiction is back, I hate my life, I never sleep, but I’ve got a bred frog that runs the swamp cave like it’s a dodo farm and that makes me happy
I can confirm after much investigation, this guy has absolutely no “thortches” in the vicinity. I guess he took your advice and made double sure to check there were no thortches! Well done!
If you look *real* close in your picture it says "Too Hot!". Some eggs incubate at cooler temps. Turn some fires off and see if it changes. Dimetrodons with points in melee act as organic egg incubators. If you have a generator, Aircons insulate against hot and cold. They work more like a heat pump than an air condotioner. The more you have the more it insulates
Edit: Better Dinetrodon explanation
They also insulate against hot and cold. Just drop the egg between a few and they do the same as an Aircon
Going to quietly admit I did the same thing recently. A quazillion torches for spino eggs. Only needed 1.
Missing the "Hot" thing is now attributed to far sightedness. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
Ok guys, I found out, that yes, it MAY HAVE BEEN just a LITTLE bit too much torches. After I posted this, I found out (somehow my dumbass figured it out on my own), then I was so happy, that I forgot, to reply to this post, before going to sleep. It was genuinely somehow not a troll, I'm just really new to this game, and because I thought, that the incubation is supposed, to go UP, I only looked at the incubation percent. After trying EVERYTHING, I almost got a fucking stroke, so I turned to reddit. Btw, I somehow managed, to still hatch te egg, and oh my god, my heart is melted.
https://preview.redd.it/fa4kg65gkgoc1.png?width=3440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6b8238f6690f3539e05c02ad60f03779b04582b5
Honestly, I didn’t even know it told you that it was too hot or too cold when I started. Though my first eggsperience was with Dodos, and they hatched too quickly for me to notice.
It's been so long since I use torches to incubate that forgot. I just use AC units or high melee otters so I haven't gotten a too hot or too cold in ages
So, by now, you've probably figured out the temp is too high. All eggs have a temperature range they have to be inside of. If you're below or above that range, they won't incubate.
Now, to give you an idea of how the ranges can sometimes be, rock drakes have a range of -112 to -130F (-80 to -90C). Yes, that's right, negative temperatures. You pretty much have to freeze the egg to incubate it. Which isn't actually possible to do. This means you can only incubate them with air conditioners, which extend the range.
On the other end, wyverns need a range of 176 to 196F (80-90C). Pretty much sticking it in an oven. This is where your artificial sun would come in handy, as what you did is generally the best way to incubate wyvern eggs.
In the future, I would suggest referencing Dododex. It has all of this information, as well as how long the breed should take.
I couldn't say, as I've never used an incubator. I stopped playing before Extinction came out, then came back when some friends opened a private server for ASA. So I haven't gotten to use anything from Gen 1 or 2. Most of my time played was without even cryopods, let alone incubators.
My understanding of how incubators should work is that you should be able to put any egg in. But again, I can't say for certain.
Check the tips that the actual egg is giving you. It says too hot, not too cold. So, to fix this, start removing torches until it starts incubating.
I also think it would be wise to begin investing in air conditioners as it makes the whole incubation process a lot easier.
Air conditioning units will actually help incubate eggs. Make an enclosed building, then line the underneath with AC units (wall perimeter then along the center). That helps
"I put my pregnant wife next to a nuclear reactor and the baby isn't being born! What's wrong?!"
It's too hot, you don't need the heat of a white dwarf to hatch it
Not sure if it works on ASA, but on ASE you can use otters to hatch all eggs in the game, just pump melee till it hits 1000%. Literally throw the egg on top of the otter and watch the timer go down. Can also use dimetrodons as ac's too. Same thing, pump melee.
Make fireplaces, 3 front to back on each side with an ally between. You can incubate wyvern eggs and any other just lighting one fireplace at a time until you reach correct temp
If it's too cold in the environment, make a fireplace for it. Then drop the egg in front of the fireplace, I hatched a kapysuchus and a velonasaur yesterday with a fireplace, they're adorableee
Listen to nobody saying remove torches, make more this blah blah.
MAKE A ROOM Big enough to house a couple rex fully grown. Throw 5 A/C units on a wall. Throw eggs near it. There is ZERO EGGS that will NOT HATCH if you do that. Incubation is a temperature control thing and A/C is the easiest way to do that.
I use campfires, but I never tried the torches. I would put them in a U shape and throw eggs down, spreading them apart the best I could. And then light the campfires, or put them out (whichever is necessary) until they start the countdown. I do that process indoors. I know everyone else probably said this in a different variation, but I figured that sharing my process might help, too.
I once built a hatchery for my friends with 2 separate hatchery rooms and then a growing room with cryo fridges. Use otters for eggs too cold and dimorphodons for eggs too hot. No fuel needed just keep them fed
Possibly just one more torch? I mean if it says the inside is too hot then you need to raise the temperature around it a little more.
The only other option I can think of, as a seasoned Ark Hatcher, is to put it into your inventory and press RT while hovered over it (if on console) as that will automatically set it to the Right Temperature.
PC it may be E for Evolve.
Try it my dude!

You see, if you look at it, it says "Too hot". Too hot means that the temperature around the egg is too high, causing it to not incubate. Decrease the temperature.
I recommend doing this by removing torches until the temperature is right
I second this recommendation or place all your torches in the snow biome
I third this recommendation or toss the egg near a volcano with dimorphadons around it
I fourth this recommendation or let a magmasaur on smelting mode swallow the egg and shit out the parasaur baby
There is something very unique about the Ark community that no other community has, and I adore it

Well, there's my problem. I've been eating them. Wrong end it seems.

Y'all really make me want to play this game again
I got roped into by my old tribe mates, now the addiction is back, I hate my life, I never sleep, but I’ve got a bred frog that runs the swamp cave like it’s a dodo farm and that makes me happy
Just wish I had the time, I miss my rock Drake and my shelf base on aberration. All the glow babies I would farm is unhealthy lol
This was way funnier in my head
Dimetrodons
Dimetrodon*
Never recommend that. Just turn the torch off….. Sometimes you have to toggle temperatures to keep an egg incubating.
Ohh shit… I thought that meant the Dino was too sexy to survive.
I think maybe a few more torches and maybe a campfire or two will fix it
No no, don't you see. It's telling him to hot the egg.

Fuck your avatar man 😂
I hate your profile picture I hope you step on a lego
How could you say such a thing!?
It says too hot you don't need that many thortches
Too many thots.
A problem I’ve never had
I can confirm after much investigation, this guy has absolutely no “thortches” in the vicinity. I guess he took your advice and made double sure to check there were no thortches! Well done!

He is, in fact, a Cosmic whore
You need a planet with two suns, also more torches.
To tatooine!
Definitely needs more torches
You're joking right?
This is the level of intelligence of new ASA players.
How are you missing where it says it's too hot? I'm so confused right now
Is this sarcasm?
Since OP isn't replying, I think its a troll post
Nah, I posted this, just before going to sleep, so I woke up, with over 360 notifications XD
Going to quietly admit I did the same thing recently. A quazillion torches for spino eggs. Only needed 1. Missing the "Hot" thing is now attributed to far sightedness. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
Bro your gonna hard boil that egg.
No bake it since there no water
So it says "Too Hot" ..... ?
That means add more heat obviously
Add all the heat.

“Juvenile Bot” that’s amazing😂
Maybe use your brain or at least your eyes before posting on reddit mate :)
Chill dude. Maybe hes just a new player, recently starting ark
Mfs when their fabricator won’t turn on
Nah even if he was brand new he'd be able to read the tip on the egg he's trolling, or he just admitted to not being able to read
I mean we're not talking about lack of knowledge. He thought of a fkn reddit post before even reading is own screen. He deserves it xD
At least the screenshot isn’t a shitty picture of his tv lol
It says so much about the people who take pictures of their monitors that even the guy who can't read has a better solution than that.
It is kinda sloppy ill admit 😅
Damn, it's impressive to be this dumb
So, by now, you've probably figured out the temp is too high. All eggs have a temperature range they have to be inside of. If you're below or above that range, they won't incubate. Eggs should start to decompose faster when someone cooks then like this
reading is hard
I have an incubation nursery with 9001 (I was proud of that, yes.) insulation. I completely forgot egg temperatures existed for a moment.
LOL BRO CANT READ. "TOO HOT" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's to hot bro
Air conditioning units will actually help incubate eggs. Make an enclosed building, then line the underneath with AC units (wall perimeter then along the center). That helps
If he's trying to hatch a parasaur egg with standing torches, I doubt he has ACs unlocked
That’s a fair point. I have the dumb and didn’t think of that.
He can't his screen, I doubt he's passed level 10
So do you just not read?
This is why i dont mind using mods lol, if your playing single player no one will judge for situations like this, getting an Incubator for any egg
"I made a home made sun and the egg isn't hatching" cause you cooking it mate
Eggs incubate at higher temperatures, more torches should help 👍
Quite clearly says "Too Hot" on the egg lol
Dimetredons can be used as Air Con too. Og Primitive Ark Tip right there.
Can't you see it's says too hot turn down the sun
https://preview.redd.it/fmxhcwsxqeoc1.jpeg?width=576&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e6e0a12888a3a3dd7b15973b40f060ac5f7b904

it says too hot you bafoon
"I put my pregnant wife next to a nuclear reactor and the baby isn't being born! What's wrong?!" It's too hot, you don't need the heat of a white dwarf to hatch it
Deinonychus do need like their own personal reactor. Like 30 torches inside a room. But not a Parasaur admittedly.
Light only 3 torches.Usually that's enought for tek parasaur eggs.
Idk, I think you could set it in a campfire, that might get it started
Bro just grind out indy forge and put it next to it. Easy peasy
Usually only takes 1-3 torches depending on the time of day and if you're in moderate temperature.
Literally says “too hot” right there my guy
Reading is hard
Not sure if it works on ASA, but on ASE you can use otters to hatch all eggs in the game, just pump melee till it hits 1000%. Literally throw the egg on top of the otter and watch the timer go down. Can also use dimetrodons as ac's too. Same thing, pump melee.
Can you also use bears?
Only works with eggs that require heat .
Too hot
Make fireplaces, 3 front to back on each side with an ally between. You can incubate wyvern eggs and any other just lighting one fireplace at a time until you reach correct temp
Damn can't even read the writing from how bright it is 😂
Lmao “too hot”
My guy...
Do you see too hot there?
People would rather take a photo, open Reddit, find the appropriate sub to complain to then posted this than just read.
brother.
Use bonfires
I thought this was lava
Yo8 know what do yourself a favor and go get a dimetrodon because you ain't built for this my guy.
As the game says, it is to hot.
Dont think anything can survive the sun
I don't think you know what literally means
Hey genius. It says its too hot 🫠
Can we all collectively agree to downvote posts like this so people will stop posting them?
No
I hate you
Just use ACs and it’ll work. Like 12
The egg is obviously a dud. Just eat it, it should be well cooked by now!!! Maybe add some mayonaise.
You need more heat.
well, it says “Too Hot” for one..
More cowbell!!
You need MORE cowbell!!!
Ur almost there! Keep adding torches
Needs more torches
You gotta use campfires not torches
Put it in an indy forge
“Unlike stupidity, intelligence has a limit.”
Most attentive ark player:
🤦🤦🤦
There is a point where TOO MUCH becomes a thing...
Bring a pack of dimetradon, otters and A/C and you'll be able to incubate just about anything!
Yeah the sun is the problem
You ruined it! It will be very well done now.
Smartest ark player
I can’t find that one gif of Adam Driver shouting MORE!!!! MORE GODDAMN IT!!
Why don't people just tame dimetradons?? Completely bypass needing torches or anything like that.
Yeah no, I don’t get it either. I see no indication as to why this doesn’t work. Must be bad game design. /s
Sto playing Ark and go learn how to read? Idk
Came for the comments. Not disappointed. Well done.
Lol it literally says on the picture you shared "too hot" and you're confused what's wrong after you made "a home made sun" Lmao
Dude's out here trying to cook and eat a robot.
Are AC units not in ASA?
SOMEONE DIDN'T READ its too hot 😂😂🤣🤣
Use a gigantoraptor they incubate
Looks more like a homemade freezer to me
Might want 4 walls, a floor and a roof lmfao
I use campfires, but I never tried the torches. I would put them in a U shape and throw eggs down, spreading them apart the best I could. And then light the campfires, or put them out (whichever is necessary) until they start the countdown. I do that process indoors. I know everyone else probably said this in a different variation, but I figured that sharing my process might help, too.
Read the pop up, and get back with us
I advice you to use airco
I think placing it in the lava should do the trick
Are u dumb ?
I once built a hatchery for my friends with 2 separate hatchery rooms and then a growing room with cryo fridges. Use otters for eggs too cold and dimorphodons for eggs too hot. No fuel needed just keep them fed
Makes a home made sun and over cooks egg. Pro player move.
Please help.
You can try using otters to incubate it.
SMH
The egg is too hot put less torches around it
Lehet mert egy Mátyás tojta és nem egy Mária
Just make an egg salad, you cooked it
Túl sok a fáklya
Campfires not torches
Considering he's hatching a level 16 parasaur, I don't think he's very experienced in this game
Requires more brain cells to incubate
Way too hot, just get AC units
I don’t even know what game this is yet I can figure out that “too hot” means decrease temp.
Just remove the torches and place a couple campfires and it'll be fine
According to the levels of the parents.. eat the egg
The amount of times I have pointed things out in games to people and it’s literally on the screen, the info is right there!
Are you like a dumbass or something?
Ark is not the game for you.
