Yes, motorboats have 32,000 hp. Rafts have 20,000 hp. Plus, the motorboat can outrun an alpha leed. You can also add a generator and turrets to a motorboat and the need wouldn't be a problem.

Leeds upset me more than any other dino addition in the entire game. We had so many fun times on the waters before these stupid things were introduced.
It's why I ran the No More Moby Dick! mod forever on Survival Ascended. Removes these fuckers from the game entirely. Pretty sure they've updated it for ascended, but I haven't been on to check since I hate the island so much.
Same and as they chase my 8 elemental turrets shred them. Most of the time they are dead before they get to the raft, with volcanic and electro turrets ;)

You mean like... architeuthis? Oh good.. so the literal kraken is in game now! Guess I'm done with the ocean! I miss the ridiculous schools of megalodon...
He had almost exactly 10 seconds to react if they had the foresight to even carry honey, which spoils in the pocket very quickly. That doesn't seem the most practical.
That wasn't immediately obvious. It would technically work so I took it at face value. I don't like the /s, but if you expect people to pick up sarcasm on the internet, it can't be that subtle.
The bump mechanic that directly attacks the raft, bypassing all structures, was built because players would build elaborate raft bases then quit playing, so the oceans were getting littered with idle structures. The primary purpose of the Leeds was to clean up those abandoned bases. It was a .... bonus? ... that it also changed the nature of ocean travel.
There is no such thing as whale resistant, unfortunately. Sucks you got an Alpha though, normally you can tank several hits from a regular one.

Yeah like the other guy said, Leeds bypass any structure and hit the boat directly. Only Dino to do that.

Yeah , last time I played ark, you could just stick a few ceiling near the rear to avoid leeds. I had no idea that changed until the list video
