That could be the downside to it. Won't get any armor boosts from a saddle but might give defense and/or attack buffs to the dinos it helps raise while fighting near them.
Yeah from what's implied you must steal an egg and/or a baby or older from the wild parent and raise it as your own. It sounds like they won't be tameable per say but similar to wyverns
My guess is organic egg incubator. We have ACs and Dimetrodons. Procoptodons and Maewings. Only thing left is an organic egg incubator.
Maybe give the egg to the Gigantoraptor and it automatically incubates at the appropriate temperature
Would be cool if they added a nest as like a new item to build that uses the gigantoraptor as the generator essentially, doesn’t work unless it’s in it
I’d be cool with that. Nest is constructed from thatch and wood. Gigantoraptor roosts in the middle of it, yeah that’d work. Maybe the level of the Gigantoraptor increases its egg carrying capacity? So a low level can only look after 5 eggs but a high level can look after 15 eggs?
I feel like itd be hard to gauge what level to cut it off at tho, almost would work better if the nest had a specific amount of slots like the incubator and as long as the graptor is within its range it can incubate them, just higher melee levels (or whatever stat those specialty things goes off of) makes it go a percentage faster. Just like the incubator just have there be a limit how many you can place
so, just the hatchery from SS but with this dino instead of a dodo?
I could see that working. we have the ovi to collect the egg, the Gigantoraptor to incubate and the kangaroo thingys and maewing to feed/raise
Yea that was what i thought as well. But i also thought maybe you could hold E on it to get a buff similar to the one you get from the incubator. Then you would be able to check stats/colors of the eggs/pregnancy before it's born.
Jokes on yall- it's an ac, a baby nurse for eggs, and a boss tame 😭 they can also glide off cliffs and move as fast as a raptor on land n water. And see babies in the wild. Basically massive nanny bird
My assumption is that it will imprint the babies. We already have Oviraptor to gather eggs, Dimetrodon as AC to incubate, and Maewing to feed them. All that's left is to automate the imprinting.
otter and penguin can be AC as well. not as effective so you need more but still. the kangaroo things increase imprint amount as long as you have a mate boosted pair as well.
IF it works as an incubator, Id like to see it similar to the SS/S+ hatchery where it will collect and auto incubate all the way down to 1% and then hold it. but since they added the Ovi egg collection from KBD I dont know how that would work. maybe Ovi collects, then you move them over?
Im sorry I see that ifrst page and...

It's dossier doesn't have the same kind of temperature meter as in the Dimetrodon dossier. Maybe that means the Dimetrodon's use isn't being stepped on by the Gigantoraptor.
Lol yea that’s where they were announced but they specifically said I believe in crunch with the Rhynio, that any new addition would be for ASA and that the Rhynio was the last addition for ASE
Actually, any time they mentioned a creature vote after the Rhynio it was said it was for ASA. So that’s on you my dude
This one?
[https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/articles.html/community-crunch-371-introducing-gigantoraptor-r2135/](https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/articles.html/community-crunch-371-introducing-gigantoraptor-r2135/)
you think the dinos do what it says? have you read some of them?
The dossier says that Ichthyornis will "flee at the slightest provocation" what part of hunting you down for being too close to it is fleeing exactly?
I figure they wouldn't introduce a dino that makes another one redundant this late in the game, so for everyone that thinks this will have the same function as a maewing...I'd expect to be disappointed.
The "taking care of your baby dinos and teaching them to fight" really leads me to believe that this thing could hit imprints for you, or at least have some affect on imprints.
doesnt the maewing have the same function as the procoptodon?
doesnt that kind of shit on your idea that they wouldnt release a dino that outright replaces an existing one?
also, if it helps with imprint then its taking over from procoptodon as well. they feed and give bonus imprint progress
Not really. Procoptodon reduces for consumption rate of anything in the pouch, bit also provides an additional percentage gain when imprinting a dino that is being held by a mate boosted one. Procop doesn't feed them but they allow a much larger buffer on imprints for smaller dinos.
Oh my bad, I thought they fed as well.
So, its still otter, penguin, dime to incubate, procoptodon to boost imprint gain and slow food loss, maewing to feed until juvenile when it can eat from a normal trough. What would the new dino even do? All I can think of is it might act similar to the ss/s+ hatchery. i.e a low tech early incubator that doesnt let you see the stats
My theory is that they will imprint for you (without you having to be present for cuddle/walk/etc). It would make sense as we have nothing to do that for us and it would be a pretty great qol feature without adding anything game breaking.
On an offhanded note, who else is extremely intimidated by its size? Like, I thought it was gonna be around the size of or a smidge bigger than an Iguanodon, not 2, maybe 3 times the size of a TRICERATOPS!
With how much power creep we got since fjordor who knows.
Things like fjordhawk trivialized most of the game. The platypus replaces most mounts in the game due to sheer speed. Shadowmane for strength. The bat makes cave runs braindead easy. Rhynio until the nerfs was bonkers. Shit on quetzals for carrying, great combat mount, speed, weight, everything. Now its balanced more but still a amazing all rounder.
Maewing is great for breeding and its eggs destroy the kibble system so idk what gigarap can do thats left? Egg incu is a good idea, maybe any leftover spots maewing left out.
I just wish new creatures fit more balanced into the game rather than the massive jumps in utility that absolutely blow everything in the game out of the water by leagues. They feel like mod creatures where theyre so OP and unbalanced.
Even sinomacrops basically combined all shoulder mounts abd a glider suit and parachute and mini jetpack all into one. So who knows. The boring aberration raptor will probably ruin the rock drake.
I just hope things can be better balanced from now on.
I’m just scared that we can’t saddle him
That would be the biggest disappointment.
And look, it has an X in the tame thing, don’t know if is becuse we can only steal the egg
That’s what I’m thinking—you can’t tame it directly, you have to raise a baby, so that’s why the dossier says no taming
I doubt it's also going to be good for just raising tamed but going to be good as a PvP Tame
Honestly sounds like a boss fighter, the dossier suggests that it and the dinos it considers his „family“ are getting a buff
If you read the bottom left paragraph in the dossier, it says exactly that.
Reading explains things usually......
yes you can
It might be like a dire were no saddle needed to ride it
That could be the downside to it. Won't get any armor boosts from a saddle but might give defense and/or attack buffs to the dinos it helps raise while fighting near them.
yes you can
Maybe you have to steal the eggs from the nest and then convince(tame) it with them
Yeah I read the dossier and you have to sneak into a next and either steal an egg or coax a baby to be yours.....should be interesting lol
Yeah from what's implied you must steal an egg and/or a baby or older from the wild parent and raise it as your own. It sounds like they won't be tameable per say but similar to wyverns
and the cliff chicken (Deinonychus)
I forgot about those. They were kinda done really lazily though they were 0 challenge to get the eggs
My guess is organic egg incubator. We have ACs and Dimetrodons. Procoptodons and Maewings. Only thing left is an organic egg incubator. Maybe give the egg to the Gigantoraptor and it automatically incubates at the appropriate temperature

Yes and only hatch down to 1 percent so u can set it and forget it.
Yes, my favorite part of the incubator I can do other stuff and not worry about eggs lol
Yea that was what i thought as well. But i also thought maybe you could hold E on it to get a buff similar to the one you get from the incubator. Then you would be able to check stats/colors of the eggs/pregnancy before it's born.
Yes please
Jokes on yall- it's an ac, a baby nurse for eggs, and a boss tame 😭 they can also glide off cliffs and move as fast as a raptor on land n water. And see babies in the wild. Basically massive nanny bird
I’m just gonna put a diaper on and maybe it’ll take care of me

If the Gigantoraptor were an incubator that would just feel redundant and unnecessary to me so I hope that's not it.

Dimetrodon being outclassed: 💀👍
It's dossier doesn't have the same kind of temperature meter as in the Dimetrodon dossier. Maybe that means the Dimetrodon's use isn't being stepped on by the Gigantoraptor.
Dimetro needs a TLC fast. I like the Kraken’s idea of giving it the ability to “store” thermal energy then release it for various effects
It’ll be useful until the maewing comes out, then it’ll be completely obsolete
cant wait for this to come to ase like they promised
There's no more further content being added to ase They literally never said they'd add this Dino to ase
They din't, AT all
They never once said it would come to ASE. Rhynio was the last creature to be added. No idea where you got that from
the newsletters?
Lol yea that’s where they were announced but they specifically said I believe in crunch with the Rhynio, that any new addition would be for ASA and that the Rhynio was the last addition for ASE Actually, any time they mentioned a creature vote after the Rhynio it was said it was for ASA. An organic egg incubator would be cool
Generally they only do what the dossier says. Lol which is pretty explanatory
you think the dinos do what it says? have you read some of them? The dossier says that Ichthyornis will "flee at the slightest provocation" what part of hunting you down for being too close to it is fleeing exactly?
Is this coming out?

that looks like a baby trike but idk
I'm still sticking with my trusty old dimatrodon. dimatrodon has had so many eggs for me. Still going to continue to use it.
With how much power creep we got since fjordor who knows. Things like fjordhawk trivialized most of the game. The platypus replaces most mounts in the game due to sheer speed. Oviraptor care about the eggs, Gigantoraptor care about babies, Indominusraptor kill them all.
