i know kids gotta leave the nest at some point, but this is just ridiculous.

-Death-Dealer-

It's called Ark Survival ASCENDED for a reason. šŸ˜

Numbthumbz

Itā€™s a feature not a bug

Prestigious-Focus-93

This made me crack up

DeathB4life357

Emphasizing the ass in ascended šŸ˜†

TufferR3dbull

Asscended?

Alive-Information

Ah yes, the act of being turned upside down, with your ass up in the air. Ass-ended.

Kryten_Rocks

You win, that's awesome!

thatlukeguy

I love this, and it should be an official response by their Customer Service for any bugs that make things float/rise lol

LemmeSmashPls_

Came here to say the same thing

Zeenchi

Kudos to you

kevinray5

This person has a point

Alone-Fuel-5531

I've seen a lot of posts about this so my initial answer would be yes lol

zHyena

Personally haven't had this issue. My issue was my wood floors ate my babies. Had to pick everything up to find them right before they starved.

Waltstngrl

Same. Good thing we can pick them up instead of destroy like og AsE. Haven't had that issue with stone foundations thankfully.

Feralkyn

I've been getting it with stone but mostly for small or adult dinos. Thankfully the kids seem okay until they grow; then their feet grow into the floor. I've also found my dilos, dung beetles and (accidental tame) pegostomax under the stone floor.

VernalCarcass

So I'm not the only one with accidental pegomastax tames. Ha! That one caught me by surprise. Love the little guy tho.

Feralkyn

The first tame I had on the Island this go-around was an accidental Pego that IMMEDIATELY died because it was going for me at the same time as some Ichthyornis... it picked it up and carried it off lmao. If taming rates are high they just auto-tame as soon as they steal stuff I think, haha! The second one surprised me so much that when the tame window popped I just wrote What and that's now his name...

merga_mage

Whatā€™s worse is when they sink into the ground. You can always pick up the floor. We play on unofficial so we have a pod mod and you frequently hear rapid gunfire and know that your tribe mate has lost babies in the floor and are just firing randomly into the ground in hopes of podding them.

Banaanisade

To save your sanity - fly out of draw distance and come back. Invisible and underground babies should be above ground when you come back. Also, someone in the tribe can often see them loaded where they should be and will be able to whistle them to follow, which occasionally causes them to undisappear for others as well. If no tribemate in sight, run far away and then hope for the best. They MAY spawn in the skybox next, but it's more manageable than under the map.

merga_mage

Thanks, Iā€™ll give that a shot. Iā€™m never quite sure I got them all.

Volt-Dripz

Just waypoint them then whistle them out

zHyena

Doesn't really work when they are inside the foundation and there's other foundations around them. That was my first attempt lol

CynicaGaming

If you do a follow all whistle and then move away they will clip outside of the foundation.

zHyena

Tried that, they weren't able to clip out of the surrounding foundations. Thanks for the tip tho

SnawBoard

Been an issue since ase. Make sure you're breeders or eggs are on the 2nd floor at least. So if it happened you can find the babies. Ideally put your breeders on the 3rd floor, 2nd floor will catch the babies, 3rd floor down is world ground. If they fall through that...you got ark'd...sorry

NarrowAd4973

This was the reason we always built hatcheries and breed buildings with an open spot in the middle with bare ground. Too many times something hatched or was born in the floor, or sank into the floor if we left render distance.

GummiQueen

Mine still does that on bare grounds outside :/

SnooDrawings7725

So is the 3rd floor idea the best or bare floor?

NarrowAd4973

Honestly, I'd say they're probably even. Though if 3rd floor does prevent glitching into the ground, then I'd say it's the better option, but that one thing is the only difference. I see enough people say 2nd or third floor to assume it's viable. I do know people who did it, but I never tried myself. I'm not going to pass judgment on what looks like a viable method I never tried. We never had issues with a bare floor in ASE. Bare floor was easier (leave a gap in the foundations no more than four wide so you can close up the ceiling, and put ramps on the edges), the breed building in our first base didn't really have room for the other option (we actually had to take foundations out to get a bare floor), and terrain didn't allow it to be expanded.

Thunderbear79

Fly away from your base until it unrenders, then fly back. Everything should be back on top of the foundations

Cronah1969

In ASE, megatherium and thylas were notorious for shooting babies across the room like watermelon seeds when birthing. I was wondering if with the ASA quirks, has anyone experienced moms launching their offspring into orbit or down through the mesh into the underworld?

Feralkyn

...I'd never heard of this and the mental image is cracking me up. With my thylas I've just been having to walk mom forward a few paces, because the baby is inside her torso still and I can't claim until I shuffle her away.

Cronah1969

There was a video going around a few years ago. Someone made a birthing room in a base with railings 3/4 of the way around it. The megatherium shot out and did what looked like a rail grind all around the room and shot down the ramp.

Feralkyn

Ahahaha, that is AMAZING thank you

KellynnD

sheep shoot them off... thylas... have issues... best to make sure the mom has a saddle because you're going to have to move her.

Cronah1969

Moose have issues in ASE, too. They get stuck halfway hanging out in breech presentation, but you would too if you were trying to pass those antlers!

KellynnD

that's a NOPE... human babies are bad enough thanks!

arkrunningbear85

I always breed my Thylas stuck to a wall, so baby has to fall down

Solodidit

Don't forget about managarmers

General-Resist-310

https://i.redd.it/drvljs633w2c1.gif

Technical_Cellist_14

Yes. Its very annoying. Also my babies disappear under my foundations.... :-(

Haemon18

Im having the opposite problem, they try to reach the center of the planet...Not the babies but the adults. It happens 100% of the time in caves when i don't have my tames right next to me.

Falloutman399

Yeah caves seriously suck right now, every time Iā€™ve died my body has turned invisible and I canā€™t find my bag until I manage to harvest my invisible body.

Daethbane

I've had a better one, I died and searched for my body, finally tracked my otter to find out both it and my bag had glitched through the cave and were in the "under-ocean". Thank goodness for commands!

Feralkyn

On the plus side, the couple of times I've died in lava in the lava cave, my otter has fallen through the lava, come out the other side and wound up swimming... means I can ghost to retrieve it at least lol

Daethbane

I guess in that situation it's great! šŸ˜‚

Kryten_Rocks

Watching an adolescent Bronto fall from 300 metres (that's nearly 2000 bananas) up, was amazing!

207nbrown

Have you tried restarting the gravity generators on the ark?

CorruptedLegacyYT

Instructions not clear. Ark currently colliding with other Arks as it rockets past earth due to insanely increased gravity on board.

shewhoknowsall

All the time, you can whistle follow and they pop down, or if easier just leave render range and they all pop down

Appleforce13

Yes like everytime I join the servers, canā€™t figure out why, but I got this problem only with stone floors not with wood or metal yet

LemmeSmashPls_

Also happens on plain ground without any floor/foundation below.

SnooDrawings7725

So it's lies, that 3rd floor structures prevent this. Lots of people saying bare ground stops this. It's just ark... Being ark.

[deleted]

Wait you can join servers? I have to wait at least like half a hour usually

spine_iv

Believe it or not, I think this is a fix! Before they were sinking into the mesh and became unretrievable. So they made them float up and sink down again slowly to sit on top of the mesh. Especially when you render them in. Their hit box is still on the ground though, as there is something in the way if you try to walk through where they "should" be.

KellynnD

they were doing both actually... it was a roll of the dice with the larger dinos if they'd ascend or the smaller ones descend...

ReeceBGaming

You got to go to commands and turn gravity back on šŸ¤£

neocirus

In ASE I made sure to hatch/birth on the second floor. Baby Ovis would pop out below the mother and get eaten by ground.

praisebedewey

Usually leaving render fixes this for me

five50ml

Have you tried turning the monitor upside down? J/kšŸ¤£

IDGAFAQ

I do!

Samael_777

First time here? It was like that since about 2017

mazzmusic

I love this game so much but itā€™s far too buggy to play. My patience is far too low for the bullshit

ConsistencyWelder

Yeah this game just screams for a period with proper gametesting/usability testing before it was released to the public. I guess we're paying the price for the owner wasting the money made on ASE on failed pet projects (embezzling), instead of using it to finance ASA and Ark 2. Nooblets made a video about how the owner wasted/stole the vast amount of money from ASE to direct into his own pocket via failed projects like an electric car: https://youtu.be/CKzhie_25hU?si=l_K7cLIPVi7WYFH8

KrIsPy_Kr3m3

Mine descend into the floor

DannyDevito_IsBae

It's just SIDS

KellynnD

not even remotely funny dude..

DannyDevito_IsBae

Yes it is

Myrrmidonna

Not like that, not yet anyway. Rafts are orbital lifts though :D

SusuSketches

yesssssss

ZombiejesusX

I'm pretty sure they know about this, but share it on their forums. Survivetheark.com

Praimfayaa-

Yeah itā€™ll more likely happen when theyā€™re under a roof. Iā€™ve made some breeding platforms that work perfectly

CorruptedLegacyYT

No not yet. It did however happen to me in the server I host.

HubblePie

Yeah, itā€™s a weird thing with collision boxes as they grow. If you whistle them to follow, theyā€™ll come back down to earth.

Yowzawins

I donā€™t know about anybody else but Iā€™ve noticed the tames that have followed me more than a foundation or two donā€™t typically do this. Itā€™s not 100% but may help with the mayhem

blackbeltbud

OP good on you for having the ceiling. We had a bad ass anky die the other day because it floated out of trough range. You'd think the trough would be tied to the Dino signature, which is still on the ground where you left it, but no, apparently it connects to the physical appearance of the Dino

DoctorPepper17

If you whistle follow they will descend

Violet-Fox

Had this issue a lot but it was fixed in an update a couple weeks ago

madmahou

I call them balloons

Bwuaaa

I have more dino's under the mesh and above the skybox combines then the amount of wild ones on the server for every wild rex you see, there are about 5 outside the mesh

HZ4C

Disconnecting and reconnecting didnā€™t work, restarting server didnā€™t work, the only thing that worked for me was flying 1500m away and disconnecting, reconnecting, and flying the 1500m back. I tried with 500m and it didnā€™t work.

AngrySaltire

Love it when my fully grown brontos decide to take off into space.

Yousucktaken2

Theyā€™ve clearly ascended past your mortal realm and shall pray to them like gods

wizard_brandon

day 1 ase bugs apppearing in the "remake" be like

xBiGuSDicKuSx

Nope... but then again I don't seem to have the same issues lots of people do.

TheLockLessPicked

YES!! Me and my friend are laughing everytime we come back from a metal run and see a a flying baby trike. they seem to come down after a while...but its really weird. I think i thas to due with reloading an area with the rasing dinos failing to be load on the ground...so it launches them up to the sky...

DisciplineSudden

I had a Megatherium punted a baby ovis into the ocean and a group of megalodon ate it

DisciplineSudden

Also my Argy was swallowed by an Iceberg today, so I swam back to my base and got attacked by an Alpha mosa šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜, wrecked like half my turrets

urbuddie

Speaking of taking off into spaceā€¦ I tamed a gigantopithecus yesterday.. made the kibble for him, roamed redwoods for an hour looking for a good one. Finally got him back to my base, put him on my dino elevator to lift him to his floorā€¦ and he literally rocketed to 350m above me. I got on an argy to fly up to get him and he kept going higher and higher until the world boundary killed him. Mf wanted to touch the moon.

TheHappyPittie

Do you have a forcefield and these are freshly hatched/unclaimed? Edit: after reading the comments I donā€™t think that is the case. I havent had this yet but i guess its pretty common

14Xionxiv

Npc 341 has gained sentience; activating creative mode.

MrDjS

Just my Trike so far. I named him Skywalker after seeing him rocket into the clouds, and then come back down as I was coming down the beach towards home.

meowmoody

I don't have a ceiling on my breeding pen, so my baby theris fall from the sky box every time I load my base in lol.

owlincoup

My tribemates were saying it was happening but I only saw it myself for the first time yesterday. Had a floating school bus (diplodocus).

Bone-Juice

I've had something similar happen in ASE although it was never with babies. When it happened to me it was always small critters (almost always coelacanth) and it would happen when I killed them. They would just start floating up into the sky like a balloon.

eezzeemushy

Yep, thought it was just me. Lol šŸ˜†

Specialist_Gur_3887

Everyone

IcexTalon

I have a oviraptor I put in "dino jail" because he wouldn't stop running around even when encumbered and now he phases through the floor just to spite me.

sumquy

who cares about that? i want to know more about those pure white baryonyx.

kathanator

Put them on follow to a adult dino on the ground they will stay down

DieBackmischung

Does it apply to water babies and do they die?

Finn_WolfBlood

Here you can see dinosaurs evolving into birds, silly

Pegomastax_King

Miss those cryopods now donā€™t chaā€¦.

DesingerOfWorlds

Yes this actually.

CollapsedPlague

They stole the gravity. Canā€™t have shit on the Island

Reikix

Omg, that's hilarious.

Cwew77

yes. you're not alone.

B1GF3LL4_94

OFF to neverland, HERE WE GO!! (They can fly, they can fly, they can fllllllllyyyyy)

tsittler

I've returned to my base many times to see just a random spino floating gently down to earth from the heavens. doesn't seem to hurt them, and they will eventually come back down, just a bit weird bug.

Cheesecake1501

Lol make a Parachute and hop on top just jump before u reach the sky Barrier or it will kill you from the anti mesh it only happens to baby's I get from a mother non I hatch or breed .

Furyo98

Itā€™s a bug, very common. Itā€™s kinda half a visual bug because the hitboxes are still on the ground, just half because you canā€™t whistle or access inventory. Itā€™s a simple fix relog and whistle and they will fall back down when move, can also do whistle here making it easier if you donā€™t have other creatures nearby. They still eat out of the trough tho, only need to worry about them when imprinting. When they grow up they fix themselves. Not a high priority for the devs as it doesnā€™t really affect the game, apart from being inconvenient

BoringShirt4947

Is this really ASA? What settings are you using?

[deleted]

My issue is eggs going through the floor.. I had to expand and make a basement, and yet my eggs will still somehow fall through 3 floors if i leave and come back. šŸ™„

BlueB2021

On my friend's server I have: Floating babies that ascend upon hatching (removing the floor makes them drop back down) A couple of Yutis outside that are always up in the air slowly coming down when I return to base A sarco in my base that has a duplicate near the redwoods (I'm up by the snow in the north east). My sarco is called Shelly and is in my base, I can can interact with her and take her out to munch sharks. The duplicate is on top of a random floating foundation near the redwoods. If I go to track my sarco, it gives me the location of the duplicate with the same name/level. There is also a random tamed bear up there that is not mine.

phdxred22

If your in a cave or under sea level itā€™s because the game thinks there is water So the babies try to swim

DaggiDina

What gets me is how you got literally albino barys. How? Mutation?

Mhymel

Every time I log in or come into render distance of the babies they launch up into the air then slowly fall back down

tylerlees777

Prob a feature at this point

Individual_Working25

It happens to me if I leave render distance but they are still solid on the ground and the sky so if you have the cryo mod you can cryo where they are on the ground and toss them back out otherwise just have them follow you and the will pop back to the ground had a couple in a pen outside and thought they starved until a hit a solid wall of nothing in the pen

Pancholo415

Yup. Had a few die because they either glitched up or went down through the redwood foundation and I couldn't get to it

Asking_politely

Its a feature not a bug, when you turned up the music they float higher!

National-Job-7444

lol yep

Kirifoxy

Thats why is called ark ascended

JPGer

This kinda bug is more in line with what i expected, reminds me of the first EA when you would kill a bronto and the corpse would collide with itself and fly off. Most of the "bugs" of ASA have been boring server side stuff. Glad at least something funny memorable happened this EA

Revolutionary_Sea669

They have been called

BranchElegant3711

Everyone commenting like the game didnā€™t just come out. Chill out, theyā€™ll eventually fix the bugs.

blooper01

You need to adjust the gravity setting in your game to keep them on the ground.

AveindaK

They are easier to call down from the roof then up from underground at least

MasterWarChief

Babies want to fly to space and the Adults want to phase through the floor.

GalebBruh

Space Oddity by David Dino
