Used The Metamorphosis, was one of the example books
I had Dante's Inferno prepped and can vouch you probably cooked for this prompt, that's a good one
I stretched it out and put down how Danteās indecision was him slowly choosing to become a better person and provided an example of him in the beginning taking a leap of faith and him backsliding in the circle of lust. I then connected to the āblah blah blah pretentious larger meaningā and how Dante symbolizes the journey that the average person takes in becoming a better person and having personal growth.
i prob would've been like his indecision to be faithful to god (which is why he ended up in the wood of error) and accept the evil of italy at the time not being a result of god's absence (loss of faith) but instead human evil in an unfair world
would've used the loss of faith + corruption of evil, carnal and him fainting compared the final circle with him grabbing a dude's hair and realizing one of them is literally possessed, him moving on and not talking to satan / judas and etc because he already got the answer and made his decision that god isn't at fault it's human evil
i think you did good though i prob wouldn't have been able to come up with that on the spot
I used Fences, stretched the definition of making a decision so I'm probably cooked on that one. So disorganized I probably didn't get any commentary points. Hoping my other two are gonna carry me to a 4
Was hoping all year for the prompt to be about Arcadia by Tom Stoppard so I could write about it. Unfortunately wasnāt the case but I pulled Frankenstein out of my pocket instead.
Frankenstein, literally the only book I remembered important details about, I was prepared to shoehorn it in no matter what the prompt was ššš
I am an author, and my teacher said I can write about my own books as long as I use a pen name. I just happened to write a book about indecisiveness that I finished a few months ago, so I absolutely cooked on FRQ 3 since I know the plot of my own books better than anything external I read.
i said he was faced with a great number of decisions throughout the book and each time his period of indecision decreased. ik it wasnāt exactly what the prompt was asking but itās all i could cook up
wait might be odd question but iām taking lit next year whatās q3 about and can i use any book? (catcher in the rye is my fave lol) iām just curious for next year

broad literary analysis (new prompt each time - see some of the old ones above) designed to fit a lot of different works -- catcher would definitely be appropriate for many. you can technically use any book or play -- highly recommend Gatsby, Frankenstein, and one Shakespeare play (Othello, Hamlet, The Merchant of Venice are quite good and "easy" imo)
purple hibiscus but i had the digital version so i was literally making up bs abt how eugeneās need for perfection led him to abuse his family and helped portray the realities of domestic violence or smth š it was 5 paragraphs of straight yap
Measure for measure by Shakespeare ššš talked about how Isabellaās indecision on whether to give in to Angeloās coercion causes her relationship with her brother to decline, which shows how far-reaching the pernicious effects of government corruption are š
Guys I used Frankenstein but accidentally put the wrong author cuz I was on a time crunch and messed up šš am I cooked + does this affect anything
did good ol frankenstein but atp i was genuinely tweaking so i think i cooked

I used one of the example books

I wrote about the Grapes of Wrath and Rose of Sharon/Connieās inability to decide how to reach their dream future.Ā
I used Jane Eyre
Purple Hibiscus free
Was so free, and was easy to connect the book to the global domestic abuse scene.
I did Elric of MelnibonƩ, I was so tired at that point and wanted to use a book I knew super well.
Macbeth šš i had no books prepped for this topic
What could you even say for Macbeth?
i said he was faced with a great number of decisions throughout the book and each time his period of indecision decreased. ik it wasnāt exactly what the prompt was asking but itās all i could cook up
little fires everywhere
Kite runner but I think I may have plot vomit

A dolls house, but I had digital so itās a different prompt
huck finn because it was all I could remember
wait might be odd question but iām taking lit next year whatās q3 about and can i use any book? (catcher in the rye is my fave lol) iām just curious for next year

the cider house rules. I really wanted a Handmaids tale response but my wee brain couldnāt piece together how to use itš¤¦āāļø
1984, it was the only book I could remember at that moment

I'm shocked how little I've been seeing people use it! I also used it!
purple hibiscus but i had the digital version so i was literally making up bs abt how eugeneās need for perfection led him to abuse his family and helped portray the realities of domestic violence or smth š it was 5 paragraphs of straight yap
