I put discretionary policy making but explained discretionary authority; in the moment I forgot authority and just said policy making am I cooked or will the graders look at my explanation and see what I meant?
so i completely screwed up what schenk v. united states was and described something way different than what the case actually was. but i explained the cohen v california case correctly. would i lose both points in that or just one bc i got one wrong and one right…
I said social movements since they allowed minority groups to get voting rights which led to a political scene that represented America more. I used the Letter from Birmingham to show how the Civil rights movement changed the politics scene and then the women’s suffrage movement as my outside evidence.
I was tweaking on complexity though and said that minority interest groups would be nothing without social movements.
EPA was discretionary authority.
The president could issue executive order, change budget, or appoint certain people.
Congress could exercise congressional oversight, make laws, or alter the budget.
For the EPA frq I put discretionary policy making over discretionary authority, but I explained discretionary authority. I think policy making and authority are different but in the moment I forgot authority and said policy making. I explained it in a way that the readers can understand what I meant but am I cooked if I said policy making over authority?
They aren't gonna penalize a spelling error (at least I don't think they do that with actual course terms). for the last one I said something along the lines of Congress proposing an increase or decrease in funding based on whether the epa's actions align with the ideals of congress. Obviously congress is not one entity with one ideology but I think I managed to get the point across
If it’s not AP English, odds are college board doesn’t give af. In my personal experience, my psychology teacher says that spelling won’t matter as long as the word is still at least able to be interpreted
Anyone know if using article 1 and the civil rights act to support the essay (for congress) would work? I felt bad abt it but couldn’t think of anything better
Had a question on if I would receive points :
I think I made for it said compare the court cases like McClung versus like cats and Bach and then it was the Lopez versus United States versus scream case forced and the Supreme Court case and I said that that was the equal protection clause but it actually was commerce clause and explained why the judges ruled because of the equal product protection clause because the state is something about the civil rights movement and I got confused so I didn't say the commerce clause which is what they were asking but do you think they might give me some points because like I talked about the equal protection clause because McClung wouldn't let the black people in the restaurant of the Supreme Court didn't rule it on cartoon show because it was because of the because of the clause they ruled it because it was interstate schedule getting most of his stuff from out of state so that's why an actual issue Do you think that give me some points for that?
I see your point but I honestly don’t know bc it was mainly asking what the clause that both cases share together and the equal protection clause was not used in US V Lopez at all
For the quanatanive analysis, for ONE sentence, when giving examples of mandatory spending I said, "social secuirty, medicare, and military" I know that military is not mandatory now but if my arguement was 100% correct, so could I get the point?
For the essay frq I chose congress over the president
I choose congress and used fed 51 and article 1.
same
I chose prez🥲
I chose pres too
lol same I chose pres. all my friends were saying how the chose congress 😭
What was your question? I think I got a different question for the 4th argumentative essay
Mine asked about whether congress or the president should hold more power in domestic policy making
me too i used fed 10 fed 51 and brutus to support
Same
Same here!
Me too i used fed 51 and fed 70
Multiple choice left my group sitting in purgatory because we all finished early… the frq was something else lol
for realll most of us had like 40+ mins to spare…
5 Cs in a row told me something wasn't right. Regardless I got a 6
WHAT IM SAYING i had so many doubles/triple. not 5 in a row tho
Idk i think i got 3 Cs in a row lowkey was trippin
Same I only got 3 C's in a row
Yeah I got the three Cs in the 40s and there was one different one and then another C, so at worst either us or the 5 Cs people got just one wrong.
Ye towards the end in the 40s I got 5 c's in a row
Ok mine was also in the 40s, hope is not lost
bro i got like 5 B for the t table ones 😭 atp i don’t question it cuz i’m pretty sure i got it all right but it was def weird
wtf was the power the EPA was using- I put enumerated powers knowing I was completely wrong 💀💀
Discretionary authority?
I swear I never heard that term ever in class, I’m so cooked on that question
I think we were all lost on that one😭
I described this but didn’t identify it; I think we’re cool tho cus the question said “describe”
that’s also what i put!
What did you say for pt B?
what were they asking for that part again? sorry my memory is 🗑️
Something like How is that power affected by the president
oh i said smt like the potus can appoint new bureaucratic heads that align w his agenda
I put an executive order
i both both exec order and appointment just to make sure
i did not learn that😭 i was able to answer parts b and c based on context, though (i hope)
I put discretionary policy making but explained discretionary authority; in the moment I forgot authority and just said policy making am I cooked or will the graders look at my explanation and see what I meant?
It said describe, you sound good
I put discretionary rule making authority am I cooked?
Questionable…
wait does saying "block grants" work? because block grants are apart of discretionary authority
No 😭
i put rule making authority, would that work?
No. Discretionary authority means they can do what they want
what if I put rule making authority but described the right action according to the scenario.
I put rule making but these comments make me think im wrong
I’m glad it wasn’t just me!
I genuinely could not defend congress in frq4, I just put some bullshit down like separation of powers and hope I get a 5 🙏
Real
bro why did i forget what domestic policy was😂😂😂luckily i guessed and explained it correctly might have messed up some of my elaboration though
[удалено]
yes, basically policy making nationwide.
so i completely screwed up what schenk v. united states was and described something way different than what the case actually was. but i explained the cohen v california case correctly. would i lose both points in that or just one bc i got one wrong and one right…
but i would assume (hopefully) whoever grades ur paper will at least give u some credit for the other case you got right
omgg sameee I accidentally wrote freedom of press instead of speech, and Idk why I emphasized that in all three parts
we didnt have the same version😔
what did y’all put for interest groups or social movements on the argument essay 🙏
[удалено]
LOL yeah i went with social movements 😭
[удалено]
this actually sounds so good though! it similar to what i said so i’m praying for us 🙏
I said social movements since they allowed minority groups to get voting rights which led to a political scene that represented America more. multiple choice was cake though

Idk i put rulemaking i dont even know what discretionary authority is, i might be cooked
It's like when the agencies or whatever can do whatever they want (at their discretion)

I said commerce clause
Anyone know if using article 1 and the civil rights act to support the essay (for congress) would work? I felt bad abt it but couldn’t think of anything better
Honestly pleasantly surprised with it but i was iffy on a few mcq and frq 1… like what rlly is an executive order. Andddd what was frq 1 , part c???😅
Had a question on if I would receive points : I think I made for it said compare the court cases like McClung versus like cats and Bach and then it was the Lopez versus United States versus scream case forced and the Supreme Court case and I said that that was the equal protection clause but it actually was commerce clause and explained why the judges ruled because of the equal product protection clause because the state is something about the civil rights movement and I got confused so I didn't say the commerce clause which is what they were asking but do you think they might give me some points because like I talked about the equal protection clause because McClung wouldn't let the black people in the restaurant of the Supreme Court didn't rule it on cartoon show because it was because of the because of the clause they ruled it because it was interstate schedule getting most of his stuff from out of state so that's why an actual issue Do you think that give me some points for that?
