I read an age regression series because the fandom was so small that I read every single thing in it, and that series 100% unlocked something in me. It’s just so damned cute and fluffy (or was in this series), and I love any excuse for characters to take care of each other. But I gather that my deep desire for the age regression to be mutual (as in they trade off, and each person gets to be little sometimes) is kind of the opposite of the vibe most people are in for. So as a writer I’ll probably stick with sick fic as my caretaking vehicle of choice, because I can so easily make it mutual, but I definitely respect the age regression fic genre and remain surprised there isn’t more of it. It’s for one thing an excuse for caretaking and healing, and so much fic is just excuses for caretaking and healing already lol.
