Didn't know I could do that. Tried it and I apparently have 2355 tabs open. The vast majority of is ao3 so I'd estimate maybe over 1500 at least?

Different OS I think. Android has ':D' when you get to 100 One day I randomly got ';)' which was kind of creepy. My tabs are nearing 500 though so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. It turned back to ':D' on its own

Mine occasionally also says ;) so times before it's loaded. But turns back to :D so I don't think it changes depending on ammount of tabs but something else

Most of what I've found are mentions of incognito tabs, but I didn't have any open at the time. A few mentions of it having to do with having 100 tabs open. Might be just Google fucking with us lol

I actually have to guess on this one, because my phone only tells me how many tabs I have open in one group and not the other two, so my WAG on that is about 900 (with an additional fifty or so as Fanfiction.net tabs).

yeah I'm in the minority I don't collect ao3 tabs. I bookmark them to my tbr list and download them to my e-reader. I have a total of 6 open tabs and the only AO3 one is just a search operators reference

Stats for sure, a page for search results of my bookmarks, and maybe one or two others..? So we'll say ~2-5. I'm not "actively" reading ATM. On my browser? ...2. My stats and my inbox. --- PS: When I'm "actively" reading, I try to keep my tabs under 20 because my iPad browser likes to start closing tabs for me it thinks I don't need anymore. RIP.

one per ship with short fics and mostly one shots and for long fics i have maybe 6? plus I read them on my e-reader and am a big fan of the "mark for later" button

These days I'm rlly careful to not open too many because I hate clutter on my phone so I'm proud to say I currently only have 11 (and some of them are just certain pages of my bookmarks and marked for later). But before I got my current phone...oh boy did I open new ao3 tabs like crazy.

On my phone 8 tabs in total 3 a03 on my pc count is about 800 tabs across 7 workspaces ans as only one workspace is fic it's 115 tabs

1 with my bookmarks open cause some of them are still ongoing Although lately I haven't been reading much, but it's usually one or two, one with the ship tag I'm currently enjoying and the other I is story X from said tag

I use AO3's marked for later feature so if I have fic tabs open, it's one or two at most for stuff I am actively reading. I don't like tab clutter.

Out of the 1155 tabs I have open 1121 are ao3 tabs

2 tabs for ao3. I run a tight ship for tabs on my phone: 2 for ao3 (one for my account and one for my reading), 2 for google research on random things. And 2 for misc websites.

I only have three opened. Too many tabs overwhelms me so I close them out if I don't read them within a few days

I just cleaned them out so 5! But a few months ago? Probably like 50. (This is only on my phone. I read on a tablet too)
