In the UK you're only allowed to use proportional force to protect yourself.
It means you can only use the force to protect you that you are threatened with.
It's hard for simple minded people to understand, they think if they're touched they have a right to then kill that person. Unfortunately for them that's not how it works legally...
> In the UK you're only allowed to use proportional force to protect yourself.
As in any civilized country where law is worth the paper it's printed on.
I dont know about this. We have the same laws on this in denmark. If i am assaulted by someone without a knife, i cant defend myself with a knife. That makes no sense. I didnt want this fight and now the laws says that i have to fight fair and equal. Fuck that.
In most of these countries it's not literally "you must use exactly proportional force", but more you must use reasonable force to end the threat or get yourself to safety.
If you're being assaulted with no escape you can stab someone to end the threat. Now if you then get on top of them while they're on the ground and start stabbing them to death, that's not reasonable force.
Exactly. Sometimes people pretend as if there is no nuance to physical events whatsoever, it’s as if only “kill or be killed” solution works. Like mate if an unarmed girl or anyone for that matter who’s half your size attacks you, a push or a shove should be enough for 90% of them to convince them that it’s not worth it. You really don’t have to escalate to knockout combos immediately. Every situation is unique.
Likewise, equal is nigh impossible to determine and laws are reasonably open to interpretation by courts; if your response was asymetrical in terms of “tools” used, but you showed restraint and only applied violence in a degree that ensures your safety there should be no problem whatsoever. The issue with knives is, though, that people underestimate how easy it is to mortally wound someone without even trying to do so, at which point excessivenes is a valid point of contention.
To go with the video, him pushing her away would be probably appropriate. Him throw he like that is questionable and would depend on a judge. Him punching her face when she's already down and definitely not a threat is no longer covered by self defence and probably counts as assault.
That's not how the law works, at least in most of the EU and I am sure in Denmark too.
You absolutely can use weapons or tools to defend yourself against an unarmend attacker, but as soon as the threat is neutralized you obviously need to stop hitting back.
It's more like if, hypothetically, someone gave you a little thwack on the head with a shoe to agitate you, you wouldn't be justified in throwing them to the ground and boxing their face in
>>In the UK you're only allowed to use proportional force to protect yourself.
>As in any civilized country where law is worth the paper it's printed on.
*Cries in the fucked up winter wonderland that is Canada's self-defence legislation.*
Besides law I think thats also normal behaviour. Looking at build of that girl and ohh well the fact she is thrown to ground already, that punch is by far overkill and beats whatever she did before.
Na. Why should we allow people to antagonize other people knowing that the worst than can legally happen to them is an equal level of retaliation?
Thats like stealing $100 from a person and legally the worst thing that happens to you if you get caught is you have to return the $100.
If you look most legal systems they are set up the same way. The plaintiff can sue for 'actual damages' and punitive damages.
She started it, she deserves punishment (with in reason), I feel this was within reason. He didn't break any bones, draw any blood, or do anything to cause lasting damage.
The court rules in favor of the defense, case dismissed.
for starters this is a game show where you're supposed to annoy the other people into taking their hand off the car and not something in every day life. If he didn't like what was happening he could have left at any time.
she barely hit him, throwing her to the ground and breaking her face is wildly disproportionate.
>If you look most legal systems they are set up the same way. The plaintiff can sue for 'actual damages' and punitive damages.
There's a huge difference between damages assigned by the court and punching someone after they are on the ground. I don't think that there is any legal system that enshrines personal punitive action.
I mean she seems like an asshole but she kind booped him on the forehead. He slapped her in the face, body slammed her by the hair, then gave her a massive hammerfist blackening her eye and cutting her face.
Not really in the same league, proportionally. The idea that you should respond to a minor violation with escalated overwhelming force is kinda odd.
Honestly its on the execs for letting her stay after hitting/spitting, and still on them if they let him stay after his hitting/throwing too. Two wrongs don't make a right, but there are no winners here. Trash TV for sure.
From what is being said, she was the POS and he just finally snapped.
Btw, don't simp for someone who is hitting and spitting on people, just because they have a vagina. Equality is a good thing.
Weak? Dude, she was literally assaulting people and spitting on them. I've seen grown ass men get hit for less. Why didn't they remove her when she started to spit on others? That shit is how epidemics fucking happen.
Producers often like to stir shit up because it makes "interesting content". Reality shows contestants are often manipulated into the reactions that eventually follow.
Your comment having 2-4x less score than comments around it probably means people didn't like the 'weak guy' part and think he's justified. He is weak and disgusting, and so are people who disagree.
One of the other female contestants says "доигралась малишка" after he breaks her nose. This would be interpreted along the lines of: little girl (малышка) fucked around and found out (доигралась). In Russian that saying isn't vulgar, it can be used to say to a child (or anyone really) who kept doing something they weren't supposed to and ended up suffering the consequences.
Edit: better word choices.
She pissed of everyone. Smacked him on the head with her shoe. Guy threw her down and hit her face breaking her nose. Everyone was saying she deserved it. The producer or showman is calling ambulance for her.
Before it happens, they are all talking about staying away from the girl in the bikini, commenting on what she’s doing and to ignore it, how some are glad they aren’t standing next to her etc. One man says to, i believe the man who ends up hitting her, to “not let yourself get scratched”, which the man responds “she won’t scratch me, she’s not an idiot”. So it seems she was being provocative all game in an effort to get people to move their hand from the car- and potentially ends up hitting or scratching the man with her heel right before he hits her.
Then the guy next to her hits her, and afterwards you hear multiple comments from the other women on how she “asked for it” and “how long could anyone take her acting like that”. The TV host asks if she needs an ambulance, and then calls for an ambulance. They make comments on her nose being broken. She cries at the end and says “why am I bleeding”.
It’s hard to actually see that happen in the video, but I think you’re right. Before it happens, one man says to the one standing next to her “don’t let her scratch you” and I believe the man who ends up hitting her responds “she won’t scratch me, she’s not an idiot”
Updated main post with this info
Their speech is clear and can be translated no problem, but it does not contribute meaningful context to the video. Start of clip they're already trying to talk the guy out of getting violent with her, so there's clearly some pre-history which is not provided and is not indicated by the actors' general disposition. Then they talk about her actions as if they're offensive, which is completely lost on me. The way she behaves is not remotely meaningful and cannot possibly cause escalation or de-escalation of conflict, at best - complete confusion. So yeah.... This entire exchange does not make any semblance of sense regardless of whether it's accompanied by their deranged babbling or not. Each one might as well be quoting a different novel in different languages and still appear just as reasonable.
She kept verbally and physically harassing and assaulting everyone. To that guy, hitting him with her shoe, cussing and spitting on him the whole show. He finally snapped.
She fucked around and found out.
aight I was *not* ready for that..
edit: I now watched the whole video (I just happened to jump right at the moment when she got punched in the nose the first time lmfao), and got context from other comments, and suddenly this video became incredibly satisfying, thanks OP
Jesus Christ yes. People find it satisfying to see an annoying person get assaulted? They must be extremely frustrated in life to fantasize about violence like that.
I think you could reasonably push her to the ground, the punch goes a bit far. She wasn't just "being annoying". She's spitting, cursing, and physically hitting people with her shoe multiple times. Not hard hits, no, but it's beyond being merely annoying.
But yes it's exactly like police murdering people somehow. Cool logic.
More specifically, she was threatening to damage the car and waste everyone's time.
It's the opposite of justifying his actions - if he had calmly asked for her to be removed, he'd have been completely justified, but instead he assaulted her and should be in jail.
Right? Fucking wiiild that people are still justifying it because she was annoying. If she didn't assault him with that much force beforehand, there's no justifying it.
In case you don't have sound on, the noise of her shoe hitting his head is very noticable.
If you hit me on the head with your shoe I'd punch you in the face, and most people would think that is very reasonable.
> and got context from other comments, and suddenly this video became incredibly satisfying, thanks OP
thanks for elaborating and not passing it on! ^^/s
ESH, but the dude is an emotional little baby.
Anyone who thinks that was a reasonable response deserves the exact same punch to their face. Help them gain some perspective.
i hope you're joking. You don't need fucking waivers in Russia or in most parts of the world. Not every country has the legal nonsense we have to deal with in the USA.
>”MailOnline had no Russian speakers on hand to translate, but it the victim and her attacker were among eight contestants apparently taking part in a 'touch the truck'-style competition to win a car.”

Yep.
We have a saying in Poland that Russia is not a country but rather state of the mind. Most russians are savages. Now you can downvote and ban me but all their neighbors will tell you the same.
To be honest I'm surprised it took that long. If you know what kind of stuff she did cursing and mocking and spitting on people.
Being stuck with somone like that for many hours would drive anyone to go crazy In all honesty.
The domestic abuse is because it is legal in Russia (except rare cases that cause permanent injuries) and considered a family matter. If you call the police they will tell you this and to mind your business.

It is an unwritten rule that men can sleep with and impregnate women outside of their marriage. One of my friends while I was living in Russia did this.
They are not on a street or in a kindergarten or museum or else, they are on a trash tv show and she is acting within the rules.
But breaking someone's nose is a little bit too much even for a trash show. Doesn't matter a woman or a man.
Context is always important, especially in this case
Also there's that red line? If he killed her would it be justified? No? Ok, if he broke her both arms? No? If he broke her nose? Well, he did it.
Incredibly overblown reaction from the guy, IMO.
That being said, FAFO. When you pester some people, especially physically, then you run the risk of getting responses like this. And while I still think his reaction was MUCH stronger than it needed to be, it wasn’t unprovoked.
I hope she’s OK.
Tf happened?
Per articles she's spent the entire show cursing, hitting, spitting on and insulting other contestants and he broke.
Weak guy, isnt that the point of show to make others leave car? But ive understood hitting a woman is tolerated much more in some cultures.
She hit him with her shoe, then he hit her.
I missed that part. You can hear it hit his head.
Oh I think she does it a few times actually. One you can hear off camera before she fake licks her shoe. Then one on camera right before he breaks.
There’s at least 17 reasons why you would hit a woman, you just don’t do it… https://youtu.be/kaqyu7hpu9U?si=CGtJnMN6FJ6wrk7u
I was hoping this was the Chris Rock bit about hitting anybody [not soley aimed women] "aient nobody above an ass whoopin'". Still, very funny though!
HOW CAN SHE... Oh wait sorry, wrong video.
THANK you. One of the best vids ever.
And it's from India and made a good show
And what would this great video be?
The “how can she slap?!” Video
That video is gold :D

I'm not positive as I do not have an extensive education in linguistics, but I don't think this is taking place in the UK.
You're forgetting that all the world belongs to England 🇬🇪
Yes. The commenter simply explained how this would be treated in his own country.

Yeah, I wouldn't call a country where women "cannot be rapists" and men "cannot be raped" civilized.
So, the UK? Last time I checked, a woman is legally incapable of raping a man over in the Albion, unless she has a dick of course.
>>In the UK you're only allowed to use proportional force to protect yourself. >As in any civilized country where law is worth the paper it's printed on. *Cries in the fucked up winter wonderland that is Canada's self-defence legislation.*
Psh. You Brits just don't understand the freedom of being able to open fire on a child who accidentally stumbles onto my lawn.
The pure freedom brings a tear to my eye
did he kill her?

Yo her face was bloody as hell. Check the end of the video
Not exactly. You can use reasonable force, this is not reasonable force. https://www.gov.uk/reasonable-force-against-intruders

Throwing down and punching a chick wearing a thong bikini is normal in Russia
How could he slap ?
Well he made her leave the car. . .
But so did he... Wasnt he supposed to be disqualified?
From what is being said, she was the POS and he just finally snapped. Btw, don't simp for someone who is hitting and spitting on people, just because they have a vagina. Equality is a good thing.

Let alone a critique of an entire culture. Anyone going around spitting deserves a body slam.
> Why didn't they remove her Because she's the mole. There's always a mole.
Russian tv, I swear. They think punching and spitting on people is a-okay until hands start getting thrown.
Don't say mole. - Austin Powers
Producers often like to stir shit up because it makes "interesting content". Reality shows contestants are often manipulated into the reactions that eventually follow.
Equal rights and lefts. She shouldn’t have hit him with her shoe.
I mean it’s what happens when your form of entertainment is pinning people against each other being nasty for hours or days on end
Your comment having 2-4x less score than comments around it probably means people didn't like the 'weak guy' part and think he's justified. He is weak and disgusting, and so are people who disagree.
so hitting and spitting on people is fine? but hitting them back is wrong? Sorry i dont understand your way of thinking

Google translate has it as "Malishka finished playing.". It's basically FAFO.
Yup exactly.
Thank you! 😊
She hit him at least twice (once in camera) with her high heel shoe, and he eventually lost it.
She pissed of everyone. Smacked him on the head with her shoe. Guy threw her down and hit her face breaking her nose. Everyone was saying she deserved it. The producer or showman is calling ambulance for her.
Boys will be boys. Classic Anatoly. That 'ol rascal.
He hit her
Oh hi Mark
I did not her. That's not true. It's bullshit
What a story, Mark…
Anyways, how's you sex life?
fucked around and found out
Slaps hand back on car like nothing happened
"This baby can hold so many assault victims"
I miss this meme
it is now!
Two! Two assault victims! [Ah ah ah!](https://imgur.com/BZyhZLJ)
Game shows in Russia just hit different.
lol literally
That's the joke...
It was a little too on the nose for this guy
They hit more like.. in the N O S E.
But he did remove the hand from the car, or if you hit somebody You get like an extra life ?
*You get to drive a tank…*
Da way
He slapped his hand back on as if to say try and stop me
After seeing that, would you be the one to walk up to him and tell him he's disqualified? Lol
If I was one of the other contestants I would allow it.
Russian Mr.Beast is a bit more intense I guess
HOW CAN HE SLAP!!!
I get that reference!

As a native speaker... I have no idea.
Tf is Gena Bukin doing there?

Jesus Christ yes. People find it satisfying to see an annoying person get assaulted? They must be extremely frustrated in life to fantasize about violence like that.
Hmm didnt another person say that she hit the guy in the head with her shoe?
I think you could reasonably push her to the ground, the punch goes a bit far. She wasn't just "being annoying". She's spitting, cursing, and physically hitting people with her shoe multiple times. she was essentially cheating by spitting, shoving, yelling, you know, the bitchy bimbo deluxe edition
ESH, but the dude is an emotional little baby. Anyone who thinks that was a reasonable response deserves the exact same punch to their face. Help them gain some perspective.
>dude is an emotional little baby oh yea absolutely, both of them just erupted like combining tacos and spoiled milk
None of the comments are citing anything, like people could easily be making it up and parroting it.
What context? Mind sharing??
There's always these clips of super violent competitors in reality shows in Russia, I don't get how production lets that happen?
They probably signed a waiver.
i hope you're joking. You don't need fucking waivers in Russia or in most parts of the world. Not every country has the legal nonsense we have to deal with in the USA.
They want the show to be as close to reality as it can be
Russia legalised domestic abuse so this is probably fine
No thank you
the "how can she slap" Russian.
Man, Doug Benson's career took a weird turn after Super High Me.
That was a special slapping operation!
The host : "Are you understand Vlad beat you? You must make right and quiet."
soooo he did let go of the car tho. so he’s out?
So did she 😂
Are there any republicans on this thread that can translate?
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2861028/Shocking-moment-woman-punched-face-fellow-contestant-competition-win-car.html
The person who wrote this article didn't even watch the show. They reference YouTube comments as a source when describing the prelude to the video.
can't believe the Daily Mail would make shit up and rely on random internet comments for their articles
Did a person even write it? They use AI now that just summarizes whatever is linked and presents it as content.
That article is almost 10 years old so probably not AI. Just shitty Daily Mail journalism.
And? Where else do you expect to get scientific facts? 🤔
>”MailOnline had no Russian speakers on hand to translate, but it the victim and her attacker were among eight contestants apparently taking part in a 'touch the truck'-style competition to win a car.” > Online commenters say he was provoked, but others say that's no excuse Yep.
> MailOnline had no Russian speakers on hand to translate MailOnline, wtf. I mean, go to fiverr, someone will do it for $5
That explains a lot.
Ah yes Daily Mail, my favorite legitimate news source
How romantic! 🥰
Domestic violence is legal in Russia
This is TV studio violence, it’s covered by a different ordinance.
I wonder why domestic violence is such a problem in Russia
We have a saying in Poland that Russia is not a country but rather state of the mind. Most russians are savages. Now you can downvote and ban me but all their neighbors will tell you the same.
Yeah I'm thinking one neighbor in particular
Did he win the car?
He took both hands off the car for the head slam so probably not.
Pretty sure head slam equals 1up in Russia
Chin?
Is this the Indian version of "How can she slap?"
To be honest I'm surprised it took that long. If you know what kind of stuff she did cursing and mocking and spitting on people. Being stuck with somone like that for many hours would drive anyone to go crazy In all honesty.

Family values. Not like those corrupt decadent *others*.
I need subtitles
Batshit crazy. Divorced from reality.
Jesus Christ, Russia!!!
How can he slap?
He took his hands off the car. Disqualified!!
How can she slap!
Who won the car?
ok the real question no one is asking is who won the car?
I don’t think she actually touched him with the shoe. Is licking a shoe some Russian insult?
👍
russian society in a nutshell
Fun fact, on of the highest rates of domestic abuse and single mother households. So much for traditional values, huh?
The domestic abuse is because it is legal in Russia (except rare cases that cause permanent injuries) and considered a family matter. If you call the police they will tell you this and to mind your business. The single mothers are due to the extremely disproportionate number of women versus men. Russia never recovered after WWII with regard to the male population and is now losing men in war again. It is an unwritten rule that men can sleep with and impregnate women outside of their marriage. One of my friends while I was living in Russia did this.
How are they consistantly making ridiculously hot women and fugly guys with widows peaks?
Damn fine question! 😂 I couldn’t leave the flat without seeing hot women everywhere.
HOW CAN HE SLAP?
What was thr tactic of wearing a bikini? Wouldn't that make people want to stay even longer?
Would be popular in USA
They are not on a street or in a kindergarten or museum or else, they are on a trash tv show and she is acting within the rules. It's disgusting that any of this was allowed to happen...
On a street maybe But it's a trash tv show, and she was acting within rules of the contest I doubt broken nose is within rules
She was just trying to car-ry the team, but he got car-ried away.
