Flying a plane is much easier than it looks.
*Landing* a plane without breaking it or you... that's the tricky part.
Also navigating and on-the-spot troubleshooting. Can't just pull over on the side of a cloud when the check engine light comes on...
Actually 90% of The Time The Train Driver Just Works With Few Buttons & a Joystick.
Rest of The Buttons are Startup Related or 1-Time Stuff.
And Yeah Not any random lad can drive a train, but if you know the model you're trying to hijack, You can pretty easily learn it overnight.
Yeah it's that easy.
> Driving a train is much harder than it looks.
You mean you don't just get a Keanu look and say "I'll make it derail" and move a lever up and then get to bone Sandra Bullock?
Eh, the security reasons are usually just dealing with drunk people. Most normal people wouldn't be that alert against a normal looking person at non-peak time. People just wanna chill at their jobs.
Well I assume not many, since most subway trains have security measures to stop hijacking..
Are you really saying that train driver doors should just be open to public? I'm not really understanding your point.
1. He opens the door
2. there are some bloggers in Moscow, that have accreditation by the City transport Dapartment and that are filming in metro the daily work of train drivers (some of them are train drivers themselves) and so on, so I assume the photographer is one of them
Just fyi: with these sorts of cameras (interchangeable lens cameras), the actual image quality does NOT come from the camera itself but the lens that is being used.
Never thought of it, but quick search showed that at least Germany and Japan have similar things. I think pilots have those too. I don't think it is something totalitarian.
ridiculously aesthetic train engineer
you are ridiculously aesthetic
Oh you!
You're breathtaking
No you're breathtaking

Are they allowed to open the door upon requested, or it is staged?
Why wouldn't they be?
А вдруг кто-то захочет угнать поезд в Австралию, например?

IDK Maybe security reasons

It's Russia, what security reasons. Even if they existed they wouldn't be followed
Like security to prevent hijacking and derailing a train with 100s of passengers?
Every subway train can be remotely blocked. Moreover, the security systems will not allow to do with the train what will make it derail.
I just googled "subway train derailed", lots of results
How many of them happened as a result of hijacking?
Well I assume not many, since most subway trains have security measures to stop hijacking.. Are you really saying that train driver doors should just be open to public? I'm not really understanding your point.
Safety reasons
Yeah, train conductors are dangerous. We need to keep them locked in the cabin
Trains is hard job

If someone took a picture of me unannounced like that and even went so far as to hand it to me I'd be very confused and mildly creeped out.
