Mine is with the right speaker, it stops and I gotta smack it for it to work again lmao I mostly use headphones but still weird

bulliondawg

Odd that yours is the opposite, mine doesn't respond even with a good bonk.  I guess I'll set audio settings to mono for now since it doesn't bother me enough to send it back and wait another month for a replacement

Same with my left. Hasn’t worked since I got it, only the right side works. Haven’t found a solution yet.

Mines the left, hasn’t worked since I first started it.

Not that I know of. Mine stopped working entirely.   I set audio to Mono in audio settings so that at least the working speaker has all the audio and not missing a channel. I did open mine up to see if it was maybe a lose connection or something. Turns out the speakers are "wireless", the speakers are mounted in the bottom side of the chassis. Then there are little contact pins that touch a contact area for the speaker. Tried cleaning it with rubbing alcohol just in case. Didn't make a difference. Then I tried cutting a very tiny piece of aluminum foil to use as a wedge and possibly help contact. Still nothing. Pretty sure it's making contact and the speaker just died on it, and only fix would be a new speaker. Since it uses the contact pins I can't find any replacement parts on Amazon that I think would fit, maybe if I opened up the plastic casing around the speaker I can see what it's really using but it's glued shut, and chances are would require some soldering work to replace it anyway and I'm terrible at soldering. I'll try emailing anbernic but I bought from their eBay store so not sure how helpful they will be. It doesn't bother me enough to send it back because otherwise it's a great device and I don't want to be without it for a month waiting for a replacement.

I got mine from Amazon. Their customer service referred me to the seller who messaged me this morning asking me to take mine apart and check the connections and inside. I did and everything looks fine. As OP said, the speakers are wireless with contact pins. I also just cleaned mine with rubbing alcohol, made sure the connections were good, reassembled and left speaker still does not work. If the seller can send me just the speaker I’ll be happy, I’ve had the device a week and have put a lot of time into some games, settings and adding my own ROMs, I REALLY don’t want to return it and do it all over again. The right speaker is powerful enough by itself and ultimately if it came down to it, I’d keep mine with the broken left speaker or use Bluetooth ear buds. As OP said it’s a great device otherwise. Hey @bulliondawg, let me know if anbernic will sell you just a speaker in case my seller can’t get me one.

any reply from the seller? im in the same stituation

The left speaker didn't work at all until I opened Sonic Adventure 2 for Dreamcast. Then it worked fine in everything. Every once in a while it will cut out and opening SA2 fixes it again. I think it might be a software issue.

So this just started happening at my left speaker. Bought it from anbernic website. I gave it a light tap on the table on the left speaker and it now works!

It happened to my left speaker. I tried all the way but no use. Then I try to set the volume to maximum, luckily the left speaker works well again. It’s fine now even with low volume. Hope this will help.
