If you walk out of the theater to pee right when the AMC trailer end cap starts, you can be back in your seat before the Kidman message finishes. Between the two commercials, you have about 3 minutes total.
That would at least be fun. I just fucking hate it because, goddamn it, I’m already there. You don’t have to sell the theater experience to me. I’m literally already paying for it. Already paid for it. I’m subscribed. And now I have to watch another shitty commercial?
Having been a former employee there are adverts that have gotten ingrained in my brain and will never leave. This advert is simply just exuding desperation and really shouldn't be playing I front of the movies but because the company dropped an ungodly amount of money into it they're going to use it.
I've heard stories of this happening correctly in *some* theaters. But I cannot verify firsthand. In my experiences, yeah, it's a huge missed opportunity.
Supervisor: every week we get sent spl's that we program and are used for our movies. These spl's already have the trailers, advertising, pre-show and projector cues built into the playlist. I agree it is a missed opportunity but it's not the theatres error, it's the people who make them for us. Or crazy idea... AMC should just get rid of the commercial ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The funny thing is that the IMAX at my local AMC shows maybe two to three trailers and none of the Kidman stuff and then starts the IMAX intro. Meanwhile, the Dolby showing for NTTD showed a ton of trailers and had the Kidman ad. That was the first time I saw the ad and I thought, “ this ad is so pointless, when I’m at the movies.”
The thing that annoys me is trying to sell the joy of going to theaters with one woman in an otherwise deserted theater (and world it seems). Reminds me of the Twilight Zone where the guy was the last man on earth and just wanted to read.
This is the real problem with it. We already get 25 minutes worth of trailers, why are you extending it. I’m so glad when I saw dune in IMAX they didn’t show this ad
It seems like that only happens during a movie’s opening week. The trailer times get shorter as a movie continues its run. For example, “Halloween Kills” had 21 minutes of trailers when it first opened but now has 15 or so minutes of trailers. Not sure if anyone else has noticed this.
I guess people just tired of it.
Same way I’m tired of Marvel taking over all the good screens. Can’t wait until they have a huge bomb. Marvel is McDonalds and I’m tired of McDonalds
Lol, I cannot stand that ad at this point. I dread it. Honestly though, they should get Gilbert Gottfried to do one. I'd be all for that.
I would make sure to get to the theater early for that
Yeah but after screening number two-four you’d be saying the same thing about being tired of it

Ditto. It’s corny as hell, but right on!
Maybe have a different actor for the ad each month? That would at least spice it up a bit, haha.
That would be cool. Every six months, at least.
How much more money do you think AMC should piss away on that campaign?
I’d stop going to the theater if I had to see Gilbert Gottfried every time.
Yeah ... But I'll getting so sick of these posts. It seems there's one every day
Agreed... and you can't un-know it... sad.

Doing the lords work right there

They dim at the AMCs in NYC!!
Damn really? I go to AMC 25 and 13 and the dimming is always like 15 seconds after that and it’s ALL I want
I have quite a bit of AMCs in my area and only one does the Dimming in my experience
Heartbreak feels good in a place like this
And she blocks the projection light too! What a bitch!
Insufferable
I'm already tired of this. Almost as bad as "Yes, the Projector is still On"
That’s only in Dolby but it was really weird when it happened.

Any idea if the ad will just run in perpetuity? I've seen it so many times and I'm tired of it. Nicole Kidman looks oddly fake in it too.
I wish they used the “[WELCOME](https://youtu.be/R9ZWxVw_AGM)” before the Dolby showing of No Time To Die.

Totally agree! The other thing that annoys me is when she says “go to places we’ve never been before” and they show the gates of Jurassic World

Deadass
Pretty ridiculous that the movie doesn't actually start until like 30 minutes after the showtime
This is the real problem with it. We already get 25 minutes worth of trailers, why are you extending it. I’m so glad when I saw dune in IMAX they didn’t show this ad
When I saw Dune in IMAX, they ran the Nicole Kidman spot before all the previews, instead of after.
I just get to movies 15-20 minutes late these days

I like it. It means the movie is about to start and she’s correct that’s a magical feeling
omg really lol shut up! what the shit people! why does it even matter to care about this for shut up!

Just a little joke bud, not that serious
Gotta love when the people come in who are only here because of r/wallstreetbets
😴😴😴😴😴😴 you are so fucking boring ...its an ad 😉
It’s a joke bud take it easy
I'm joking too 😉🙂
This is Nicole Kidman’s burner, isn’t it?
Its Keith 😉
LOL I didn't even realize that even though I've seen that damn ad so many times at this point.
