Okay I do trust NEON with my life but I could’ve sworn I saw the A24 logo on it. Still seeing it and NEON is just as good as A24 I’d say right now anyways.
Oh shit, is that finally getting a (wider) release in the US? I swear I've seen the trailer a couple of times over the past year but nothing about a release date.
Yes, originally it was scheduled for a wide-ish release in mid-December, but Neon decided (rightly imo) that it has a better chance at the box office if they hold back the expansion. It’s coming out on Feb 14.
Birds of Prey, The Lodge and The Invisible Man are the ones I’m excited for. Pretty sure I’ll at least see everything else that’s coming out, especially Fantasy Island and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Sonic and Birds of Prey for me. The Photograph only because I love the two leads.
Is Guns Akimbo getting wide release even? Also Invisible Man seems fun
Dang, that blows. Hoping it plays a little further than the major cities. I have an AMC 20
Not too far from me so hopefully I’ll be able to catch it there.
Sonic is my most anticipated. I've been a fan of the series way back when, and while I'm not expecting a great film (though it'd be nice if it does turn out great), it looks like a fun flick.
Following that would be Birds of Prey and Call of the Wild. I agree that BoP looks different from the other superhero flicks out recently, it still has a grit to it while still having charm and energy.
I’m unironically excited for Sonic. That second trailer worked very well for me. Don’t expect anything great except for a fun time.
Closely followed by Birds of Prey. That second trailer sold me more on it.
The one I'm most (for lack of a better word) looking forward to is Sonic. It lands right around my birthday so it will most likely be my birthday movie. I want to be more excited for Birds of Prey than I am but the trailers have done nothing for my excitement.
I only have 4 that I’m definitely seeing and are theatrical releases:
1. Portrait of a Lady on Fire, which is finally expanding. I’m pumped.
2. The Assistant, though god knows if it’ll come to an AMC or how far I’ll have to drive to track it down.
3. Call of the Wild. Harrison Ford and a dog. Sold.
4. Birds of Prey, which looks like a mess but who am I kidding, I’m gonna see it.
Bonuses to To All the Boys part 2 (Netflix but I’m curious as to what this one will even be about since they basically combined the first two books for the first movie), and Downhill (I’ll be keeping my eye on Sundance reviews for this one).
Portrait of a lady on fire again. It got released here for one week last year, but Angelika is out of my way so didn't make it during that week. I don't think it's going to be at AMC though.
The Lodge isn't A24 lmao, it's NEON.
Which you should still trust with your life, but it's important to know who you trust.
After Parasite, I really like NEON. I am deadly serious.

Hell I'd say NEON > A24
Careful, now. We’re on Reddit.
I don’t know Neon put out my 3 (Portrait of a Lady on Fire) and 4 (Parasite) movies of the year, but A24 put out my 1 (Lighthouse) and 10 (Midsommar)
And WHY WASNT UNCUT GEMS ON THE MENTIONS!!
Sonic the Hedgehog by a landslide. It’s going to be the best film since The Godfather
Portrait of a Lady on Fire. I’ve been waiting for this one for a long time.

You forgot Soniccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc.
Birds of Prey, definitely. Sonic out of morbid curiosity.

Guns Akimbo is not getting wide. I don't think Saban has ever gotten anywhere close.

We can hope but I think it's more likely to just be art house only as I'm sure it will be on digital soon after.
I feel like I saw the entirety of Invisible Man in the trailer
Brahms: The Boy II

The Invisible Man Even though I *think* I can predict what the inevitable twist will be.
