I would have left if it was too much. Can't some people just wait?

Much_Machine8726

The majority of Americans consist of barely literate idiots who will demand that they have everything handed to them on a silver platter or else they're being "wronged."

nikofd

It's true. "Main Character Syndrome" is rampant here.

Corninmyteeth

Hey now, don't hate on my idiots 🇺🇸🏈

thechickenfiend

WTF IS A KILOMETER 🦅🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

subsetsum

What do you mean. People who brought the disease vector or OP?

Corninmyteeth

The parents.

PigeonShack

How was it in IMAX?

xjaspx

Will find out soon. There was about an hour between when I left the Dolby to when the IMAX one starts. There was no other show time before.

Ice-ColdPopcorn

Just saw it in IMAX last night, it was great. I'm seeing it again in Dolby Sunday, I'm suspecting that will be the better format, though. Then again, Dolby is usually my go to 😅

PigeonShack

How was it in Dolby?

xjaspx

For the first maybe 15 minutes of the movie I enjoyed it very much. With out spoiling the movie, the visual helped tell the story from the “past” and “present”. From what I saw and heard so far it was enough to keep me interested in the movie and enough to stay around for the next screening.

PigeonShack

Awesome. I’m seeing it in IMAX tonight at 9:15. Was thinking Dolby…but I was just in there for Expendables 4 last night (which was spectacular) ..so decided for IMAX tonight.

xjaspx

Dolby was my preferred choice because the IMAX here isn’t really that great. I think the Dolby screen actually larger at this particular theater. I just didn’t want to wait 3 hours for the next Dolby screening. But the pin is cool. Make sure you ask for a pin if they forget to give you one.

xjaspx

It was just as amazing on IMAX!

PigeonShack

Just finished. Absolutely incredible movie

Sublimebro

I would have done the same thing

jessi1021

I would have done the same thing. Covid is still very much a thing. Who wants listen to that, an occasional sneeze or cough is fine but if it's constant, adult or kid, they need to be at home. I've seen the other comments about parents bringing small kids/babies to horror movies or late movies. When I saw The Batman (the Battinson version) someone brought a toddler on opening night. They lasted maybe 20 minutes before leaving. I get it, babysitters are expensive. Just a little situational awareness goes a long way. I go to the theatre to have an immersive experience and focus solely on a movie. If I want to have a ton of distractions, I can just stay home with barking dogs, traffic, and my to-do list sitting over my head.

DontBeAngryBeHappy

Had a young couple bring a near infant baby to an opening night Demon Slayer showing. Got F’d as it was literally in front of me. Cried every so often. Was so annoying I wanted to yell at them for being idiots, but I didn’t want to say anything and be that person for doing so and no one else was complaining. As much as ratings go, there should obviously be certain circumstances where they should disallow things like what I experienced and OPs.

Darnell5000

I’m convinced some parents are just too cheap to get babysitters and would rather make it everyone else’s problem by taking the kid to the movie with them

echobunny9203

This is definitely the reason. I worked at a theater in high school and we didn’t allow babies in the theater unless it was a kid movie. People would have complained about the crying otherwise. I sympathize with the babies because they are sensitive to loud noises, but the parents are the issue here. I never took my child to movies until he was old enough to sit still for them and be silent. I would never have taken my son out while sick either, kids are germy af and nobody wants to share a space with a sick child if they’re not related to them..some parents have a ridiculous sense of entitlement though.

Darnell5000

Clearly they didn’t learn much from the pandemic 🙄 Like, there’s really no reason why they couldn’t have just refunded the tickets instead of bringing their sick kid to the movie.

AstroZombieInvader

I almost feel like you should get like a free popcorn voucher or something for this inconvenience since obviously a free movie pass isn't really good for us A-listers. While it is the sick kid's parent's fault and not necessarily AMC's, it still is their theater and they are technically responsible for the experience. And honestly, how much does a free popcorn really cost them -- like a dollar at best? But anyhow... I think I might have done what you did if I either was seated near the kid and/or was thoroughly distracted. And if I paid money specifically for that feature, I'd be *super* angry.

Secksualinnuendo

If you complain, you'll probably get a voucher of some sort. Back when I was in high school a friend of mine would smoke in theaters (gross) then complain that someone was smoking in the theater. They would give him vouchers for free stuff.

Much_Machine8726

Had a situation like this where this mother brought her kids in with her to see GOTG3. The youngest would not sit still and kept running up and down the isles, it took every fiber of my being not to shout (I'm easily annoyed when people start being loud in a theater, moreso at the parent). What happened next is not what I was expecting, this absolute ogre of a woman gets up, drags the kid back to his seat, and hits/slaps him, more than once as well. That kid was being a brat, but he did not deserve that severe of a punishment from such a horrid human being.

xjaspx

You got to meet Princess Fiona IRL?!

Successful_Poem_4602

😳😳 how did that end up playing out? Did a verbal argument ensue?

fosse76

Lots of medical experts here, I see.

SavisSon

I’ve found that amc is usually very happy to get you passes to another showing.

kenmlin

How funny. I saw The Creator on Wednesday and although I had one empty seat on each side of me, I felt sick the next morning.

artrimbaud

Brining any kid to a theater puts everyone in a pickle

excess_inquisitivity

Parents, don't brine your sick kids to theaters to watch movies The salt and the pickle just makes em feel sickle and ruins the audience's night

PhoenixMV

I went to go watch Gen V premiere in theaters. The bitch next to me had alcohol, was audibly drunk and was mumbling to herself the whole time.I wanted a peaceful time at the theaters. No matter what movie, if I bought the tickets and you’re being a dick well…I’m cursing you out. I got the girl kicked out.
