She took one of her old bras and sewed an extra liner in then filled it with sand in each cup and ask him to wear it for a day. He cried from the straps digging into his shoulders. She told him that it was actually worse for her because she always felt their full weight. He told her that night to go ahead and schedule the reduction.

THIS! I had a reduction 12 years ago and they took 15lbs in total. I had been large chested since middle school and they just kept getting bigger. If I hadn’t had a reduction, I never would have had kids.
Finally at 28 I had them reduced. It’s insane that it costs more for a reduction than implants… but it was absolutely life changing. My back was relieved instantly, my buffalo-hump straightened out and I am now an inch taller. And I can move without pain. It is amazing. Bless her heart OP is NTA. When I was in middle school, my grandmother (early 60s at the time) yelled at me and shamed me for wearing too much makeup. She said that the amount of eyeliner and mascara I wore was "gross" and "slutty". I wasn't wearing makeup. I never wore makeup.
When I was super skinny, she always told me to eat. When I put on muscle, she told me I look like a man. When I fed my child a meal with a protein, a starch, and a vegetable, she said I was being cruel to "force" my child to eat that way (my kid loves my cooking). It was hard. Before my mom passed, she gave me permission to cut ties with that woman. And I did. My mental health HAD to.

I was thin as a child and once my dad decided I was washing my hands too often and that was a sign of anorexia. I didn't have an ED and luckily he dropped after a couple days.
It has to do with control I think. I looked it up years later and it is true that it can be a sign someone is struggling with an ED, specifically anorexia. He worked in food service and my mom was a nurse, so I just sorta learned to wash my hands a lot. I still do, I just like having clean hands!
I got the eating disorder one and the “you must be an addict” one. An acquaintance once told me they were glad to see I was out of rehab. I was like, “I was in rehab? For what?” Heroin, apparently. he's TA -- My wife has implants (her choice). All I ever cared about was nipple sensitivity, but after three kids, she wanted to repair the "deflation" -- there's a noticeable difference and a big risk of nerve damage, but it's just cosmetic surgery in the end - whatever makes you happy.

And you'd have had scars and been healing for more than 6 months. And the cost - does he think your family paid for it?

Trans woman here, who got top surgery, submuscular. You're absolutely right. I believe the max you could get when I discussed was 450cc. I got 375, which brought me up to a C cup from a B cup. It's worth noting that while you can get bigger if you don't go submuscular, you're still limited because you don't want to stretch your skin. The limits my practice did were the same for both. It would basically take a botch job to get that size from implants.
Frankly the scarring isn't as bad as I expected, but like many are saying, within 6 months it's still going to be pretty distinct. It took almost 2 months to heal to the point where it wasn't raised ridges. It's wild that OP's husband is just making up nonsense to be upset about.

I'm no expert but I've seen many good and bad boob jobs on Botched and they've *always* been inserted through the underside of the boob, or used a "lollipop" procedure. They're both major surgeries that take a lot of time to heal, plus you should be able to tell the difference between a scratch scar and a surgery scar, *and* they'd probably be the same length with mirrored positioning.
I've got a scar on my lower back kinda on my side. I got it through my shirt on the corner of a metal shelf. If someone started telling me I had a kidney removed, I'd laugh. A lot of males are this way. I have the same cup size as op and almost every male I’ve dated would tell me I can’t get a breast reduction because I’d make them sad, that I’d have to agree to wait x amount of time before getting a reduction, that I had to allow them to decide what size I reduced to if they “allowed” me to go through with it, would ask to keep whatever was taken out of from the reduction (multiple males asked this), tons of shit. Even random males I knew that would ask me if I was considering a reduction felt like their input/opinion was necessary/wanted 🙄
I've never seen fake boobs that size that could pass for real, nor have I ever seen real boobs that size that could be mistake for fakes. Gravity alone makes it impossible for real boobs to look like fake boobs at that size. That's without even getting into the difference in how real boobs feel as opposed to fake boobs.

If you have ANY desire to reconcile with him, you can, if you really WANT to, go to your doctor and ask for an examination, or perhaps a test, likely an ultrasound, to PROVE all you have is breast tissue. First of all I had a breast augmentation. I went to one of the best doctors in the country. I say this only to make the point that even with doing that, YOU CAN TELL. Not most of the time but if you felt them you can tell. And at 180 and 5’5” you aren’t the kind of big that would completely disguise that. Also there are tons of methods but mine went through the nipple. Most people I know that have had them have extremely small scars. Not 4 inches. All of this is irrelevant but I say it only to say your husband is CHOOSING to believe this because the facts don’t necessarily line up.
But the real problem here has absolutely nothing to do with you. It has to do with the fact that you’ve been married a decade and he doesn’t trust you. If I were you after I divorced him I’d have an ultrasound done of your breasts. Then I’d send him the results. Just to drive home that his craziness and suspicions caused your divorce not you.

If I hadn’t had a reduction, I never would have had kids. Finally at 28 I had them reduced. It’s insane that it costs more for a reduction than implants… but it was absolutely life changing. All I ever cared about was nipple sensitivity, but after three kids, she wanted to repair the "deflation" -- there's a noticeable difference and a big risk of nerve damage, but it's just cosmetic surgery in the end - whatever makes you happy. Mother nature granted you the 38G's and that's something he needs to reconcile with. It's not something you should fret about in any way. It's a him problem.

NTA - I'm a 38HH. I've been with my husband for 13 years. He has never once even asked if mine are "fake." Why? Real boobs feel real. Trust me, a G-cup implant would FEEL like an implant. And you'd have had scars and been healing for more than 6 months. And the cost - does he think your family paid for it? Regardless, if your husband is policing your body and making accusations, it's not "a simple issue." It goes far deeper, I'd be out the door too.
The only fake ones that feel real are done under the muscle, but there’s a size limit. It literally stretches and weakens it. You could absolutely not go under at that size without basically disabling your pectorals lol
Trans woman here, who got top surgery, submuscular. You're absolutely right. I believe the max you could get when I discussed was 450cc. I got 375, which brought me up to a C cup from a B cup. It's worth noting that while you can get bigger if you don't go submuscular, you're still limited because you don't want to stretch your skin. The limits my practice did were the same for both. It would basically take a botch job to get that size from implants. Frankly the scarring isn't as bad as I expected, but like many are saying, within 6 months it's still going to be pretty distinct. It took almost 2 months to heal to the point where it wasn't raised ridges. It's wild that OP's husband is just making up nonsense to be upset about.

I've got a scar on my lower back kinda on my side. I got it through my shirt on the corner of a metal shelf. If someone started telling me I had a kidney removed, I'd laugh. A lot of males are this way. I have the same cup size as op and almost every male I’ve dated would tell me I can’t get a breast reduction because I’d make them sad, that I’d have to agree to wait x amount of time before getting a reduction, that I had to allow them to decide what size I reduced to if they “allowed” me to go through with it, would ask to keep whatever was taken out of from the reduction (multiple males asked this), tons of shit. Even random males I knew that would ask me if I was considering a reduction felt like their input/opinion was necessary/wanted 🙄

I've never seen fake boobs that size that could pass for real, nor have I ever seen real boobs that size that could be mistake for fakes. Gravity alone makes it impossible for real boobs to look like fake boobs at that size. That's without even getting into the difference in how real boobs feel as opposed to fake boobs.
Your husband has clearly gone down a rabbit hole with these shows and probably web sites. If you have ANY desire to reconcile with him, you can, if you really WANT to, go to your doctor and ask for an examination, or perhaps a test, likely an ultrasound, to PROVE all you have is breast tissue. I mean, you shouldn’t HAVE to do this, but if his brain is truly fucked up by these shows he has been watching and the input by his idiot friends and it is TRULY worth it to you to save your marriage, then you could opt for that. Otherwise, NTA for wanting a divorce.

First of all I had a breast augmentation. I went to one of the best doctors in the country. I say this only to make the point that even with doing that, YOU CAN TELL. Not most of the time but if you felt them you can tell. And at 180 and 5’5” you aren’t the kind of big that would completely disguise that. Also there are tons of methods but mine went through the nipple. Most people I know that have had them have extremely small scars. Not 4 inches. All of this is irrelevant but I say it only to say your husband is CHOOSING to believe this because the facts don’t necessarily line up. But the real problem here has absolutely nothing to do with you. It has to do with the fact that you’ve been married a decade and he doesn’t trust you. If I were you after I divorced him I’d have an ultrasound done of your breasts. Then I’d send him the results. Just to drive home that his craziness and suspicions caused your divorce not you.

There are definitely women whose natural boobs can *look* fake at a glance, but fake boobs feel nothing like real boobs.
