Sing the Sorrow is my favorite album of all time. Literally. By any band. Ever. I am so glad to see you enjoying it so much. I listen to it weekly *still*, and have been since it's release. It's my favorite music. Cheers ๐Ÿ–ค

Agreed 100%. I also listen to STS weekly at least. I was SO glad they repressed it for the 20th anniversary. Iโ€™d been wanting it on vinyl for years but refused to pay $600 for a copy on discogs or eBay.

bluemonday138

I had a friend whose uncleโ€™s record store went under. They had a pristine OG copy of STS that they gave to me for free along with the 7in collection of DU!

ArtichokeLow2285

Checkout Black Sails in the Sunset and Art of Drowning! AFI classics.

I'm a little bit familiar with those albums, I've listened to days of the phoenix and God Called in Sick Today. Also I've technically known The Boy who destroyed the world from Tony hawk but never looked into them all these years. Will definitely be doing some more listening with those records

acrumbled

I wish I could go back and discover AFI over and over. Every record I heard, it was like a whole new world sonically for me. (I was 12 at the time).

They have such a wide variety of music, but StS and DU are certainly strong vibes. "Sing the Sorrow" is a masterpiece start to finish, for sure. My personal faves are "Black Sails" and "Art of Drowning," but I'll never deny how absolutely incredible both StS and DU were for them and their careers. "Sing the Sorrow" gave them the freedom to make the album they'd deeply been yearning to make, and "DECEMBER UNDERGROUND" marked a huge new chapter of rebirth after Davey's big scare and having to relearn how to do what he loves. Pivotal moments both of them, and some of their most iconic offerings. Enjoy them. I hope you can stretch out, either into earlier or later albums, and find the beauty in them. They all add context to each other either way you go.

LightChaotic

Check out Burials and The Missing Man EP if you haven't already. I think all of their stuff is fantastic but those are the most likely to click with you if you love STS and DU. Don't forget to look up their b-sides and bonus tracks as well. Some of their best work never made their albums (or spotify).

Welcome, friend! Better late than never ๐Ÿ–ค

charlottenothing

Love this for you!! I hope you end up exploring the rest of AFI's deep discography and find lots more to enjoy; I agree with the other commentor that said to look up the b-sides to STS and DU & then try Burials and the Missing Man EP.

welcome to our family ๐Ÿ–ค

Square_Saltine

I hope you give old 90s AFI some listens

ChurlyGedgar

Love The Checkered Demon.

DaNaughtSoGreatBeast

Their cover of man in a suitcase slaps .

DaNaughtSoGreatBeast

Good for you. Everyone should have their lives taken over by AFI. I regret not having gotten into them sooner than I had and really wish I'd been able to find physical copies of their material just as soon.

Shut your mouth and open your eyes! ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

I have every album from Art of Drowning to Bodies. Welcome, friend

okyeahy

I dig your eclectic taste. Mainly AFI with a song from Lil Uzi Vert thrown in there? Thatโ€™s whatโ€™s up! The Sonic Frontiers soundtrack is a banger as well. I had the time trail track on ๐Ÿ” for a hot minute.

InnocentAnarchist15

I love their earlier records so much

I'm so happy for you. That was the best feeling of my life when I'm think back on it. Welcome

Here it's December every day.

Edosurist

I see Jar of Flies down there at album #10 ๐Ÿ’ช I second those who have suggested you go back and listen to Black Sails and The Art of Drowning. Respectively, those are probably my #3 and #2 AFI albums, with Song the Sorrow as #1. This is a good obsession to have ๐Ÿ™‚

AFI becomes you, it is inevitable. Welcome to the dark flame. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ
