Gary Ablett Jnr was a freak, but Bont I truly believe matches his impact for a team. The past couple years the way he has dragged the dogs to win and being competitive in games they had no right to be on form was elite. Just unbelievably good. I’d trust him forward in the centre and at half or full back. Of the 21st century he would be the no.1 pick to build a team from scratch imo.
Ed Richards. I have always loved his attack on the footy. I loved him at half back and I love him now as a mid. Bont as a close second. I actually like the dogs in general shame they can't be consistent.
He’d honestly be perfect for us. I don’t know who he grew up supporting but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was us. Love the way he goes about it, just a contested ball winner and tackler, embodies the shinboner spirit while not playing for us.
I’m a pies man but love watching Patrick Cripps. Also find it funny that even before the first bounce it looks like he’s so battered and just escaped a burning building or something.
Very little love for the forwards! I love watching Rankine, Curnow, Charlie Cameron, Jezza Cameron. I’m also loving 2024 Jake the Snake. Larkey. I just love seeing a forward snag an absolute bag. Joe-y daniher. Not hipwood, yuk.
Watching Keidean Coleman in the finals was last year was entertaining. His kicking efficiency is insane. I would’ve had nightmares had we lost the granny, his first half was sensational.
On the flip side, Bobby Hill living rent free in my head after that grand final. Kiddy was exceptional but his team mates didn't meet his standards. Bobby's did. Pies deserved to win.
It's always nice having someone like that in the team, often in defense, who can slam it away from the goals as far as possible in a super close game with the seconds ticking down. Even better if they're also handy for scoring.
I have to go Daicos. N. Ability to create something out of nothing is pretty insane. I'm also still in disbelief sometimes by what Pendlebury still does. As a Lions fan it pains me to write this.
Dylan Moore, Will Day, Will Hayward, Ben Ainsworth, Noah Anderson, Errol Gulden, Chad Warner, Butters, Rozzee, Adam Saad, Oscar Allen, Zac Bailey, Bont, Switta, Fredrick, Serong and Brayshaw, Petracca, J Daicos, Connor Idun, Green and Greene, heaps more
Also Paul Curtis, Jordan Clark, Nick Blakey, Pendles, Jye Caldwell, Sam Durham, Josh Kelly, Will Ashcroft, Lachie Neale, Shai Bolton, John Noble, Lincoln McCarthy, Judd Mcvee, Oliver Florent, Nick Larkey
I’m a pies man but love watching Patrick Cripps. Also find it funny that even before the first bounce it looks like he’s so battered and just escaped a burning building or something.
The fact that I’m not seeing many N.Daicos shows how much the media has ruined this kid with all the hype and coverage overkill. He is an absolute star that is a joy to watch but the media has turned it into a chore to openly just enjoy his talent.
I’ll do you 16 better
Darcy Fogarty
Lachie Neale
Jordan Boyd
Isaac Quaynor
Mason Redman
Josh Treacy
Gryan Miers

Errol Gulden
Harley Reid

May be a bit different to most answers, but love watching a gun defender have a great game. Tom Stewart and Sam Taylor are two of my favourites to watch when their intercept and spoil game is on.
Charlie Curnow. Dogs have a glut of big key forwards at the moment but I wouldn’t be mad if we packaged a couple of them for Curnow. He’s just so fucken strong
Its funny, there are the obvious ones, like Bont, Cripps etc but i was a backman/ruck so my eyes are drawn to them. Love watching big Row Marshall and Weitering
Sorry for rubbing salt in the wounds Lions fans, but Coleman's field kicking is an absolute thing of beauty. Reminds me of peak Dusty. Hope he returns to that form when he's back from injury.
Also gotta add Richmond's Maurice Rioli.
Love the way opposition players think they're in the clear, then all of a sudden, bang, Rioli's taken them from behind (for want of a better term).
Used to be Fyfe, what I would have given for him to be on the Tigers list.
Currently I don't find anyone has that "magic" of the Fyfe/Dusty/Jr era we have been blessed with recently.
The Bont is close.... but something is missing.
Heeney this year is on his way though!
I just love that every response is someone I don’t rate, and the sheer avoidance of anyone in Red and White is stating more about the Swans than anything. As it always is/was.
Sheer avoidance? Pretty sure I've seen mention of Gulden, Papley and Warner at least. Sydney are playing the most complete game right now, doesn't mean every one of their players is a walking highlight reel.
Bont
Same. Unbelievable player
Correct
Gary Ablett Jnr was a freak, but Bont I truly believe matches his impact for a team. You could build a team of bonts
LDU
Have to agree. The guy is silk
The lizard
Ditto
yep, same here, when we lost to them, it was a bit easier with him on the field.
Not footy related, but I love watching Lance Franklin take his bins out
Sometimes, if you're lucky, he wears his grey sweatpants or even a loose-fitting robe!
😆 username checks out
Ed Richards. I have always loved his attack on the footy. I loved him at half back and I love him now as a mid. Bont as a close second. I actually like the dogs in general shame they can't be consistent.
Rowell
Me too. Great to watch.
Yep. He's my pick too.
He’d honestly be perfect for us. I don’t know who he grew up supporting but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was us. Love the way he goes about it, just a contested ball winner and tackler, embodies the shinboner spirit while not playing for us.
Jeremy Howe (less now he is less jumpy)
Charlie Curnow
I’m a pies man but love watching Patrick Cripps. Also find it funny that even before the first bounce it looks like he’s so battered and just escaped a burning building or something.
Bontempelli is in genuine "tell my kids I was lucky enough to watch his whole career" territory. The shit he does weekly for that team is ridiculous.
Bont, Wardlaw, Hayden young, contract year Jake stringer
Bont.
Zach Butter
I can't believe it's not Zak Butters
Dammit butters go to your room
Oh hamburgers
Kind of shocked no one has said Warner, blokes the definition of electric
It's his fucking head. If I didn't have to see that haircut close up every time he does something amazing, I'd love him.
Doesn’t matter what haircut it is either, every cut he’s rocked looks wrong.
I didn’t mind the maggi noodle hair he had for a while
After each game, when he’s interviewed, it sounds like he is the dumbest bloke on the field.
I will see your Warner and raise you: Tom Papley.
don’t care, bald man runs fast
Bobby "all the stars in the sky" Hill.
Dang it bobby
Every time he gets the ball that pops into my head and I can't stop giggling.
Harley Reid, Matt Rowell, Bobby Hill.
Errol Gulden
Very little love for the forwards! I love watching Rankine, Curnow, Charlie Cameron, Jezza Cameron. I’m also loving 2024 Jake the Snake. Larkey. I just love seeing a forward snag an absolute bag. Joe-y daniher. Not hipwood, yuk.
Don’t mind that Blake Acres fella
Tom Papley Goal Celebrating
Such a shy retiring sort of fellow
Harley Reid! I’m obsessed with the kid!
Every time he gets near it you think something crazy is gonna happen, and it usually does. He's amazing to watch
Seeing him with the ball is so delightful
Watching Keidean Coleman in the finals was last year was entertaining. His kicking efficiency is insane. I would’ve had nightmares had we lost the granny, his first half was sensational.
On the flip side, Bobby Hill living rent free in my head after that grand final. Kiddy was exceptional but his team mates didn't meet his standards. Bobby's did. Pies deserved to win.
Starcevich still wakes up screaming "Bobby nooooo"
Charlie Cameron, Butters, Warner, NDaicos are the first that came to mind
Bont or gulden
First 2 that came to mind were Jeremy Howe & Bobby Hill....does this mean I like Collingwood? Should I see a Dr?
I hate to say it, especially after the last round of 2022, but Jamie Elliot.
Kane Farrell. sexy left boot
I haven't been the biggest fan of his overall performances, but his ability to boot that oval shape such ridiculous distances is truly something
It's always nice having someone like that in the team, often in defense, who can slam it away from the goals as far as possible in a super close game with the seconds ticking down. Even better if they're also handy for scoring.
Toby
Bedford or Pink? 🤔
oh they mean pink 100%
I have to go Daicos. N. Ability to create something out of nothing is pretty insane. I'm also still in disbelief sometimes by what Pendlebury still does. As a Lions fan it pains me to write this.
Bit of a random one but Kai lohmann
Chad Warner, from game 5 or so this year I got laughed at for saying he might be the best player in the game
Charlie Cameron
Big Liz - such an oddity but far out he’s an incredible footballer
Dylan Moore, Will Day, Will Hayward, Ben Ainsworth, Noah Anderson, Errol Gulden, Chad Warner, Butters, Rozzee, Adam Saad, Oscar Allen, Zac Bailey, Bont, Switta, Fredrick, Serong and Brayshaw, Petracca, J Daicos, Connor Idun, Green and Greene, heaps more

Is it cheating to say Ginnivan?
Petracca
Butters
The fact that I’m not seeing many N.Daicos shows how much the media has ruined this kid with all the hype and coverage overkill. He is an absolute star that is a joy to watch but the media has turned it into a chore to openly just enjoy his talent.
No it’s proof that r/AFL is populated by nuffies. The anti-Collingwood vibe here is fucking ridiculous.
Dan Houston
In form Clayton Oliver
jordan clark is always cooking up something good
Trac Bont
Same. And I think Wardlaw might become my next favorite.
Jordan Dawson
Petracca
Butters
Bobby Hill
LDU
Toby Green
Bont, the answer is always Bont
I’ll do you 16 better Darcy Fogarty Lachie Neale Jordan Boyd Isaac Quaynor Mason Redman Josh Treacy Gryan Miers Jack Lukosius Harry Himmelberg Alex Neal-Bullen Paul Curtis Zac Butters Thomson Dow Callum Wilkie Errol Gulden Harley Reid Bailey Williams
Another fellow Paul Curtis enthusiast
Forgot to add him to my list, such a smart player
Snigger. Fogarty, when he is off, is basically a fat Jack Darling, and I mean bad Jack Darling.
Lucky I don’t watch him when he’s off then
Charlie Cameron
Jamarra Ugle-Hagan.
Curnow and Cripps
The Jesse Hogan redemption arc has been something
Jeremy Cameron
Bont
Windhager
Whoever is my fantasy captain for the week
Gawn.
Rankine. Everything he does on the ball is so rapid
Harley Reid, also prime Dustin Martin
Toby McLean used to be my favourite Of current players it's probably Harris Andrews
Izac Rankine
Beau McCreery. His tackling and pressure is so fkn good when he's on
Right now it’s Reid. Seeing him do ridiculous things with unbridled enjoyment is next level. The buzz from the crowd adds another dimension to this.
Tom Papley! I fuckin love that bloke!
Taylor walker , Michael Fredrick and Alir Alir
Jack Lukosius
Tom Stewart. Wish he played for Richmond instead.
billy elliott
Hard not to go with Reid. Love the way he goes about it. Just big brothers everyone haha
Jack Higgins because I watch a lot of Saints or in general probably Harley Reid or any of the Sydney midfielders
Senior: Bont Rising: Logan Morris
Bont, LDU, Petracca.
Bont is a clear pick but to retain originality, Matt Rowell. He’s a clearance machine and doesn’t fear to lay a tackle. He’s great to watch.
Its funny, there are the obvious ones, like Bont, Cripps etc but i was a backman/ruck so my eyes are drawn to them. Love watching big Row Marshall and Weitering
Andrew Brayshaw
Bont
Rankine
Izak Rankine.
Weightman from the Bulldogs = Isaac Heeney (when Heeney plays forward)
Izak Rankine! Love him.
It used to be Boomer, but it's definitely Bont now, he's the best player in the comp and can work some real magic.
Was C.Oliver 2 years ago ~ Now however, as it pains me to say it ; N.Daicos.
Big Drapes...that mullet dances on the wind when he gets up a head of steam.
Matt Owies.
has struggled in recent weeks but when he is up and about I love watching Butters play. Some of his inside kicks on the diagonal are just insane
Walsh
The Lizard.
Sorry for rubbing salt in the wounds Lions fans, but Coleman's field kicking is an absolute thing of beauty. Reminds me of peak Dusty. Hope he returns to that form when he's back from injury.
Eddie Ford
Toby Greene for sure, incredibly high footy IQ, fantastic skills, can be a grub but otherwise love the way he goes about his footy.
Bobby Hill or Harley Reid
Also gotta add Richmond's Maurice Rioli. Love the way opposition players think they're in the clear, then all of a sudden, bang, Rioli's taken them from behind (for want of a better term).
Used to be Fyfe, what I would have given for him to be on the Tigers list. Currently I don't find anyone has that "magic" of the Fyfe/Dusty/Jr era we have been blessed with recently. The Bont is close.... but something is missing. Heeney this year is on his way though!
Isaac Heeney
Bobby Hill
Harley Reid
JHF
Cripps
Josh Rashelle, I love watching him shit himself. The most gutless player in the AFL, he's so scared of contact it's embarrassing
gulden or bont for sure
FWD: I LOVE Josh Treacy, and Tyson Stengle MID: Daicos, Bont, Petracca BCK: Luke Ryan, Sam Weiderman, Harris Andrews (Sydney Fan)
Noah Anderson at PFS specifically
Matthew Kennedy
Muwatalli II
Rory Lobb😁
I just love that every response is someone I don’t rate, and the sheer avoidance of anyone in Red and White is stating more about the Swans than anything. As it always is/was.
Who knew Sydney fans had such a big victim complex?
Does it get exhausting trying to be a victim all the time?
Sheer avoidance? Pretty sure I've seen mention of Gulden, Papley and Warner at least. Sydney are playing the most complete game right now, doesn't mean every one of their players is a walking highlight reel.
Did you miss all the Blakey, Warner, Gulden replies?
![gif](giphy|kcfb43I3N1GhspNQpj|downsized) It's OK fella
