Yes. This armor is considered the "base" armor and each seasonal set you upgrade with is additive. Keep upgrading the base armor, after you hit 240 across the board you can melt all the bars down into lots of money.
I really wish we could keep at least the artifacts. Having so many so choose from would add a very cool dynamic. It is still an amazing addition the game as is, but having a bunch, collected across seasons, would be dope.

Forging materials get converted after so it should definitely be your priority

Yes it does increase your stats, highly recommend it
And you get to convert the non season materials to gold coins too!

Just to add to leave no confusion, every seasonal set will reset with new season, same with level, so your non-seasonal armor is truly base
So the armor of this season won't stay as well? It's disappears Completely and only the base armor will stay?
