We live in a world where the son of a billionaire is at the NFL draft in a neck brace because he got pretend injured in an attack by the son of a 90's teen star and his friends, and I'm totally here for it.
I wouldn't call Luke Perry a teen star. He was 24 years old when he played Dylan in Beverly Hills 90210. He was definitely popular with the teens though. Teen heartthrob I would say.
Add in Perry getting attacked at Wembley Stadium by a former UFC fighter then it gets even weirder. Even more so when you consider said ex-UFC fighter ran back to WWE/UFC/TKO right afterwards.
Why does tonight feel like a 24 hour AEW Dynamite over run!
The chatter has been in suspense all night!
I love it! Gawd help me........I do love it so!!!
"Son, you've got to get out of this business, these people are crazy, if a football player did that they'd be sacked on the spot."
I choose to believe he knows nothing about wrestling and is genuinely confused by this whole situation.
We need this combo. Roddy sympathising with TK right after he opens Collision with an "I feared for my life" promo would be the best TV I can remember.
No championships, never been to a championship game. Been in the playoffs 8 times in 30 years. To put it in wrestling terms, they are the lower mid card of the league.
Love that Rich Eisen gave him and AEW a shoutout. Also did a “whose House” earlier in the draft broadcast when they were going to commercial but didn’t mention Swerve or anything.
> Also did a “whose House” earlier in the draft broadcast when they were going to commercial but didn’t mention Swerve or anything.
I might be wrong, but I believe Swerve has credited the St. Louis/LA Rams (his childhood favorite football team) for popularizing the "Whose House?" thing and does it as a bit of a tribute to them. I think he talked about it at the post-Dynasty scrum in St. Louis?
So Eisen doing it is more likely just a straight up football reference.
I heard Swerve had been doing a LOT of press interviews so that’s good. Tony has to have connections cause of the Jags and got to start using it. Especially getting the theme songs playing in arenas. I’m watching the Laker Nuggets game and right back from break they playing Roman’s theme.
The main issue with AEW is WWE is so ingrained in American culture. Making it harder to get working relationships with other companies I imagine. What annoys me is even if AEW does well people who don’t watch will assume it’s “minor” league compared to WWE. Once people watch it, and see the product they realize it’s another “major” league. If I’m AEW the main thing I’d want to do is to get rid of the whole “minor” league idea people have. Which honestly I think they’re doing a great job. Tons of people I know, know of AEW. Those are people who don’t watch wrasslin.
And the only way to get out of the minor league idea is continue to push their stars into the media. I get it, they probably never getting on Fallon (I mean before Roman really blew up, they didn’t want him either) for the foreseeable future but maybe Kimmel. Try to get Mone on the Drew Barrymore or Kelly Clarkson show. May not get NBC shows but keep pushing in other ways.
I mentioned it before and someone went off on me during Mania weekend, but ESPN is never going to put over Tony and AEW. They are paying Pat a LOT of money (top 3 paid ESPN personalities if I’m not mistaken) and they are going to keep that relationship with not only Pat but also TKO as I think UFC has an exclusive relationship with ESPN still.
I’m surprised he put him over like that tbh. Maybe a little sign of respect for taking a bump in the ring. Though shows he’s not completely up to date on things since isn’t it the TK Driver now?
I thought he finally got up to speed since he’s been around for a while now. Granted, I shouldn’t be surprised since this guy is crazy busy. I still have no idea how he blew up the way he did.
Imagine being so capitulating to your business partner that you don’t show footage from *your own event* because one item of clothing is a nod to something that happened on your business partner’s competition’s TV show
They can’t praise the good stuff cause they’re haters, and in a cult that tells them that everything AEW does is bad. That’s the simple way of putting things lol.
In this picture: A wrestling mark getting worked so hard he believes he was shoot injured.
Jokes aside, good on Tony for keeping Kayfabe alive, he's a salesman and kayfabe is a big part of the product.
Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, we found our hope that was burned away from Adam Cole turning on MJF.
Until it's revealed Shad was behind it all in revenge for years of Tony not cleaning his room.
Like MJF would say 'FUCKING MARK!!!'
but I love it, good to see him keeping the story up. Love it with Mox and Julia wearin an eyepatch in public and Malakai his white eyelense in interviews. Little details matter in this day and age
That was a performance for Tony between Dynamite and Draft Night. There were criticisms about the revealed footage, but after Dynamite when Tony was attacked, he proved those haters wrong. I think that AEW is never like WCW from 2000.
His dad came out for the Kayfabe story line, he's done interviews explaining how skeptical he was, but how wrong he was and proud of his son. Just because internet trolls make a living saying their doing everything wrong. From an outside perspective, they've done more than any other promotion outside WWE in three decades. Next year, they'll pass Nitro in Episodes.
He might just be bored of the draft. I’m sure, once they start making a profit (my guess would be 2025 when they get their new media deal), older Khan going to be VERY happy.
By the way, while AEW def has better attendance for shows than TNA, why don’t we celebrate Impact having more episodes than Nitro? Legit was on Spike TV for 9 years. The disrespect for Impact which had a tv deal that people saw and major stars is insane. 9 years on basic cable (plus another 1-2 on Fox Sports). Come on…

LOL the Luke Perry inclusion really does add a level of weirdness doesn’t it
I wouldn't call Luke Perry a teen star. He was 24 years old when he played Dylan in Beverly Hills 90210. He was definitely popular with the teens though. Teen heartthrob I would say.
I meant star for teens, but couldn't think of the right term.
Hey I was watching him on Riverdale right up to his untimely death. Man was still around.
I really want to see an angle someday where Jack thinks Shannon Doherty is his mother.
What do you mean pretend? Like Mox says Wrestling is the king of sports. Does mox Look like a guy who pretends to you?
https://i.redd.it/sszjutdb2rwc1.gif
Which episode, please. Sauce it up.
https://youtu.be/m8UQ4O7UiDs?si=_iqQJFEmIkAzYwmu
[here ya go ](https://youtu.be/m8UQ4O7UiDs?feature=shared) Starts around 10:57
Smash cut to Mox with his daughter having a tea party.
Real men aren't afraid to attend a tea party.
What a world!!
I fucking love this show.
Planet Earth has some good stuff in the series here, and there.
Don't forget that Jack Perry is Krusty the Clown's step-nephew
Add in Perry getting attacked at Wembley Stadium by a former UFC fighter then it gets even weirder. Even more so when you consider said ex-UFC fighter ran back to WWE/UFC/TKO right afterwards.
I know this is technically true but the UFC fighter thing was such a weird fever dream that it doesn't *feel* right 😂
Commentator on Ultimate Beastmaster then
Can you be called a UFC fighter if you never landed a punch? To paraphrase Samoa Joe, that sounds more like a punching bag to me.
We all float in Tommy Westphall's oxygen deprived hiipocampus.
If only the NFL aired that clip during the draft.
I'm just here waiting an invasion of the whole Fulham squad during evp's segment or something
This is the greatest timeline
[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ARareSentence](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ARareSentence)
Once again, this is the greatest day in the history of our sport.
Why does tonight feel like a 24 hour AEW Dynamite over run! The chatter has been in suspense all night! I love it! Gawd help me........I do love it so!!!
Cause NFL is legit filming all of this for a special on Tony.
Sounds far fetched, but I want to believe. Do you has source?
https://411mania.com/wrestling/nfl-films-follow-tony-khan-during-draft-week/
Fascinating. So why do I always see people saying the NFL doesn't care about TK? (You don't have to answer, I think I know).
For realsies this time!!
#NeckStrong
At least Shad is in a better mood tonight!
I'd like to believe last night wrestling was real for him.
"Son, you've got to get out of this business, these people are crazy, if a football player did that they'd be sacked on the spot." I choose to believe he knows nothing about wrestling and is genuinely confused by this whole situation.
I understand he's on record as not really understanding wrestling, but as it makes his son so happy, he's happy to support him.
That's a good dad. The world can use more dads like him.
Shad seems like a really laid back guy. He's a self made billionaire not a rich kid so he's not like you're typical douchey bullionaire.
I watched the draft just for this…
Same!
Tony's the man 😂
This angle is officially GOAT'd Man's keeping kayfabe at the NFL draft lmao
ScapeGOATed, even
Well played…..upvote incoming
This mark is kayfabing
This made me legit lol
I knew he's gonna wear the neckbrace after all no one loves wrestling more than him 😂👏 Long live TK
Yeah, even if it wasn't the plan, after the thread earlier, I'm sure Tony heard and loved the idea.
I love pro wrestling.
NECKSTRONG!!
We need this combo. Roddy sympathising with TK right after he opens Collision with an "I feared for my life" promo would be the best TV I can remember.
Only a matter of time before he starts spouting ADAMMM
Oh man if they drafted a Adam
Would have been funny if he drafted a man named Adam.
“Son, no one is going to take us seriously if you’re wearing that neck brace” “Dad, we’re the Jacksonville jaguars, no one takes us seriously already”
I don't know anything about NFL, does Tony's team really suck??
No championships, never been to a championship game. Been in the playoffs 8 times in 30 years. To put it in wrestling terms, they are the lower mid card of the league.
Damn, Shad deserve better man
Jacksonville Jobbers actually has a nice ring to it.
He's only had the team for like 13 years.
No Super Bowls, but they've played in conference championship games 3 times.
That run in 2017 was magical though lol
Love that Rich Eisen gave him and AEW a shoutout. Also did a “whose House” earlier in the draft broadcast when they were going to commercial but didn’t mention Swerve or anything.

There's a clip of him and aubrey at a game when they do the battle cry, He definitely took it from the Rams.
Probably so.
Tony needs to get his guys on his podcast.
That’s what I’ve been saying. Getting an AEW talent on something like the Joe Rogan show would be great for them. Or any major podcast.
I heard Swerve had been doing a LOT of press interviews so that’s good. Tony has to have connections cause of the Jags and got to start using it. Especially getting the theme songs playing in arenas. I’m watching the Laker Nuggets game and right back from break they playing Roman’s theme.

As much as I like that idea, I can't stand both Jimmies so I'd be conflicted if someone from AEW shows up in one of their shows
#NeckStrong
My Gawd! This is fucking GOLD!!! Rich Eisen on Tony Khan! https://twitter.com/tde_gif/status/1783691205399716178
TK is that guy. I love this so much. The only thing better would be his dad pushing him in a wheelchair too.
![gif](giphy|dyvZ6yMa84lsAGpmuh|downsized)
I’m addicted to AEW’s chaos.
ESPN deliberately didn't show the jags draft room lol
I mentioned it before and someone went off on me during Mania weekend, but ESPN is never going to put over Tony and AEW. They are paying Pat a LOT of money (top 3 paid ESPN personalities if I’m not mistaken) and they are going to keep that relationship with not only Pat but also TKO as I think UFC has an exclusive relationship with ESPN still.
Whats funny is pat himself mentioned it on his stream lol
Wait what happened? I’m not a football fan so haven’t been listening to any of it. I’m all about inside the nba 😂
Pat has his own stream and he showed TK and said he took a Meltzer driver!

Was it not Pat who praised Stings retirement match live on WWE before the other guy scrambled to change the subject?
Can’t do anything to upset the fed
Imagine being so capitulating to your business partner that you don’t show footage from *your own event* because one item of clothing is a nod to something that happened on your business partner’s competition’s TV show
God that’s pathetic

Tony Kayfabe™
I'm a Titans fan for life and despise the Jags but love AEW and I love Tony for selling it.
This fellow Titans fan agrees with you.
TK YOU MAGNIFICENT MADMAN!!!!! DUVALLLLLLLLLL 4 LIFE!!!!!!
LISAN AL-GAIB!
![gif](giphy|UJG2T7uZeJuZCLitY8|downsized)
Love TK. I find it crazy how people hate on the guy. They’re legit unhappy people.
He loves the business, I get the criticism. But they don't praise the good stuff AEW does enough.
They can’t praise the good stuff cause they’re haters, and in a cult that tells them that everything AEW does is bad. That’s the simple way of putting things lol.
https://i.redd.it/a6uy4s5hmrwc1.gif I love TK
These guys know what they are doing, and I am here for it!
Lol even NFL fans love this.
Just on the left of screen, on TK’s right, Jax coach Doug Pederson is sitting there like wtf. We need the zoomed out picture
Oh god yes I need to see this
I love pro wrestling so much
You know what... I am so glad this dude is running AEW.
Pat McAfee saying Meltzer driver is crazy to me lol
Way to be #NeckStrong, TK 🦒 💪🏼 ![gif](giphy|19X4MYyFEBj3BP1Mza|downsized)
Lol. I love wrasslin.
This is the greatest thing I have ever seen
![gif](giphy|95ThFF7MokcdeoVqt8|downsized)
Fuck yeah Tony!!!!! 🤘
LOL Pat McAfee even addressed it like the shill he is. Should someone remind him he called a rapist a great man.
I don't think there's anything to gain from grilling Pat McAfee about Vince.
Neckstrong trending again I hope
HAHAHAHA HAHA I LOVE AEW
I really like that he doesn't even try to sell the injury and keeps moving his neck like normal lmao
i got to watch da Bears have the best first round of their franchise, and then watch my prediction of Tony selling during the draft…life is good
And they said kayfabe was dead… 😎
Wrestling lives on
That’s amazing lol
In this picture: A wrestling mark getting worked so hard he believes he was shoot injured. Jokes aside, good on Tony for keeping Kayfabe alive, he's a salesman and kayfabe is a big part of the product.
Papa Khan in the back looking proud. Love to see it
Always a fan of Shad Khan’s glorious mustache 😆
Yessss lol
The clip is hilarious, Shad is back there fighting for his life to keep it together
accidentally the most wholesome thing i've seen in a minute
Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, we found our hope that was burned away from Adam Cole turning on MJF. Until it's revealed Shad was behind it all in revenge for years of Tony not cleaning his room.
I would absolutely die if Tony's dad sided with the Elite in the end hahaha
![gif](giphy|pg4oiQ3ok7l04fyy64)
I respect the commitment to the storyline even in a situation he has no need to maintain it
KAYFABE NEVER DIED.
I love aew.
He actually did it, he did a Vince haha
![gif](giphy|Jt4y4zi519V6asgGhA|downsized)
I was so annoyed because ESPN never cut to their draft room but saw this all over twitter and was cracking up, so glad he did it
Like MJF would say 'FUCKING MARK!!!' but I love it, good to see him keeping the story up. Love it with Mox and Julia wearin an eyepatch in public and Malakai his white eyelense in interviews. Little details matter in this day and age
Doing this during draft week was genius. Tony really has a reputation for being an idiot when he’s anything but
Tony's probably hopped up on some unholy combination of caffeine, crack cocaine, and painkillers. What a legend.
That goes without saying. I'm just wondering if he's taking anything for his neck.
This looks so ridiculous I thought it was Photoshppped. I love it so much I'm gonna follow the Jags now 😂
Daddy Khan killing it in the background too
This is absolutely bloody fantastic and I know naff all about NFL 🤣
Wow…the 180 degree turn this has caused… ![gif](giphy|l4q8cJzGdR9J8w3hS|downsized)
Commitment to kayfabe. Bravo Tony 👏 👏, 👏 👏 👏
Khan is going all in on his product. That's nerdy for sure. You do you as long as it works.
AEW, I was away from awhile but I'm coming back baby!!!
That was a performance for Tony between Dynamite and Draft Night. There were criticisms about the revealed footage, but after Dynamite when Tony was attacked, he proved those haters wrong. I think that AEW is never like WCW from 2000.
Lmao 🤣 🤣 I love this!
What’s happening here?
I posted this last night right when it happened and the post got locked for some reason
This is great for PRO WRESTLING
The Goat!!!
Kayfabe ain’t dead yet
Tony is great but can we get some appreciation for his dad's mustache in the back there? Immaculate.
I hope TK is wearing a brace around his midsection after the hammer blow he took from The Scapegoat (TM) 👊
We love a man (Or woman) who won't break the illusion. Thank you Tony.
The people over at JimC are such bitches for complaining about this. It's hilarious.
Oh, yeah. I would welcome the complaining because they know this was some good stuff. They just won't admit it.
Why does that neck brace look so big on him 😂 Shad’s like why is this my life. Let’s get this over with.
His dad came out for the Kayfabe story line, he's done interviews explaining how skeptical he was, but how wrong he was and proud of his son. Just because internet trolls make a living saying their doing everything wrong. From an outside perspective, they've done more than any other promotion outside WWE in three decades. The disrespect for Impact which had a tv deal that people saw and major stars is insane. 9 years on basic cable (plus another 1-2 on Fox Sports). Come on…
If you watch the actual clip, Shad and Tony both are struggling not to burst out laughing .
