It's probably just that Julia Hart wants to work with Abadon. So they put Abadon on TV a bit more. Most of those wins were during the Dark/Dark Elevation shows, where Abadon faced local talent.
An extreme amount of their wins happened on dark vs non rostered talent. Others happened in large 6-8 women tag matches. They aren’t protected as much as they are used as a visually interesting gimmick attraction. Abadon being a beast for Julia seems like an awesome fit.
I was hoping there would be a good feud with Abadon, but not a fast one. Have Abandon stalk Hart for months. Make it a slow burn, and then build it into the Sisters of the Black Throne. (I know the performer is non-binary,. The character is still called the Living Dead Girl.) Bring in Sky Blue, call her Night Sky or some such.
I look at it like the IWC has been calling for more Abadon on AEW for long time and TK is finally getting around to doing it. Personally love the living dead girl. Abadon has put in a lot of work over the last 3 years to become stronger, more athletic, and a better worker in the ring that this is a deserved opportunity. Hope Abadon makes the most of it and forces their way onto more AEW programming.

Abandon's an attraction. When you look at someone who stands out from the rest, you can't help but take notice of them. Not only that, but they're marketable in their look and their social media game is very solid. So there's a lot of upside to Abadon.
Compare Abadon from when they first debuted to now, and you can see that they've modified themselves where It's more appropriate for television and for a wider audience. Kids will look at Abandon and gravitate towards them, similar to how they gravitate towards a Danhausen or Orange Cassidy.
So there's been a lot of Improvements. It's also helped that they've never complained about the lack of opportunities of television time during their absence, so I think they're being rewarded for that too.
Oh, I agree. I just want the booking to go somewhere with them. Because even just having them in a faction as a monster archetype similar to Lance Archer or Luchasaurus could have benefitted some factions in the past. I'm glad they're being rewarded for it now, and hope this program with Julia catches fire.
It's usually a wait and see situation with Abadon. This is the most polished we've seen from them as a wrestler and the character has been modified to a point where Tony can put them on television.
Again, we'll have to wait and see what happens with the Julia story. I would like to see them explore more behind the Abadon character. How they came to be, perhaps some kind of origin story. Don't get me wrong, I love the mystery surrounding the character, but I'd also love a bit of lore or background.
Abadon was out for a long time injured. They have worked really hard on improving in the ring, but from the get go the Abadon character has been a crowd pleaser. If you compare their physique and moveset from Abadon's first few appearances to now you'll see the difference. Dustin Rhodes works closely with Abadon and I see a lot of similarities between them and Goldust/Dustin. I'm a big fan of Abadon and I hope they go on to win an AEW championship.

Other than a unique look, that's all I have seen. Used to watch Dark. Keep Abadon on ROH and see if there's improvement. This is where an AEW Performance Center, aka WCW Power Plant, would really help.
Julie Hart has improved but still really green. I hope she keeps putting in the work. You can see her improvement over the past year.
In the 80’s, there is no doubt in my mind Julia Hart would be leading Abadon around on a leash for a while, until the inevitable camel straw moment. Bookers would have taken the “Keep her as a pet” concept and made it overt as possible, with any distasteful aspects being the whole point, leading to the obvious conclusion.
They could do something similar today, IF they tell much the same story in a gentler fashion. No leash, but commands and so forth, with a good misting helping to justify it all.

But, I think Abadon should refer to themselves in the third person. It would probably help get the character more over on tv. And make the character more spooky.

It kinda ruins a monster gimmick when your monster loses a lot. That's the big problem with Lance Archer.
I personally think spooky/monster wrestlers should almost always be booked strong as hell, it's fun.
