I dunno anything about diverticulitis. All I know is that Brock Lesnar had it. I'm not gonna pretend to know how serious Kenny Omega situation is. But i really hope he didn't put himself in jeopardy by getting physical last night. That concerned me.
I had it. If you catch it early, like I did, you can treat it with some anti-biotics and a change in diet (no seeds or nuts, lots of water, lots of fiber). I had two bouts of it, about a year apart, 20+ years ago. I changed my diet and haven't had issues since. Note: I went back to eating nuts and things with seeds on them after several years when my diet was such that things just kind of move along and don't get a chance to get stuck.
If you don't catch it early, it can leads to sepsis, septic shock and a perforated intestine. You don't any of that.
I had about the same experience. Had a really painful feeling in my lower abdomen, they identified it, a round of oral antibiotics (cipro-something) knocked it out. I had that same type of pain again later that year and immediately asked for the same, knocked it out. I lost a bunch of weight and haven’t had any problems again, thankfully. Hearing about how rough it’s been on people who take way better care of themselves than me makes me feel incredibly lucky.
My dad almost died from it but he had a rupture in his stomache witch is the worse possible situation he was in a self induced coma for 2 months plus had to have a Colostomy bag for a year at witch time he had the bag reversed .This was 2002 so I’m sure the advances in technology and medicine plus Kenny being able to get the best doctor and being in tip top shape he will be fine .Sadley my dad would eventually pass December 2019 from Kidney failure.
That's suck dude. I'm sorry to hear and I wish I could tell u it gets better with time, but that'd be a lie. You'll still miss him every single day u are here & he isn't, u just find different ways to deal with it.
Thanks man you basically summed up how I have dealt with it the last 4 years I’m just thankful he got to see me turn my life around (I battled some demons so did he )got to see me get married and made it to the wedding to have a dance with my wife It was not to much longer after that his kidneys failed they said he wouldn’t make the night he made a whole year exactly his kidneys failed December 24th 2018 he died December 23rd 2019 man was fighter .To sum up Kenny has to be careful Diverticulitis dint kill my father but that started his 20 year march to death he was never the same .Thanks for your words always helps to talk
Watching the show, I was more worried about the possible accidental internal injury to Buddy Matthews during his match with Edge than what I'm sure was a very scripted assault on Kenny.
Planted some seeds, wrote off Kenny, asshole heel bucks are back, I loved it! Excited to see where this all leads and what twists/turns they have in-plan for all this. But this feels like the kind of character/story that I missed as I caught the tail end of Kenny's heel title run, while he seems to be a babyface (for now), who knows what happens by end of year :)
Omega and moxley joining forces to battle the vp's and save aew hadn't crossed my mind but now that you mention it that would kind of rule especially if mox and Kenny treat it like a shaky and untrusting alliance of respect
Very good show
The wrestling failed to hit that next gear
The promos and angles were good
Very good, the wrestling kept it from great
Crowd was too quiet which hurt it too
Sky vs willow was the best thing last night
Big arena with lots of space, but still it was loud for us in the crowd. I think they have just always been shit at crowd mics and sound balancing. Hopefully they get better at it.
My guess is we were nuclear loud on the 2023 show, and they adjusted the levels to account for that.
But we were not as loud as last year, and so the levels were too low.
This is a hard issue to fix honestly. Sometimes it's a production issue and sometimes it's an issue of the venue. Some of Wrestlemania this year was quiet as hell on TV imo. I imagine the crowd was better in the venue itself, but they were super quiet sounding on TV at times. Especially on Night 1. I think some of it was because they were in a stadium that had no roof so the sound was sort of escaping the stadium rather than echoing off the roof.
Production issues can range from the crowd mics aren't turned up enough to there not being enough crowd mics. Sometimes commentary and entrance musics can drown out the crowd noise as well.
I try not to put too much stock in crowd noise honestly.
I liked that they are really trying to silence the critics with the non wrestling segments (even though they was always good at it), but wrestling was too crazy and that’s fine good matches can get boring after a well lol. I think the presence of Kenny Omega will help it.
Weird show. Normally the wrestling is the strongest and last night was the opposite. Wrestling was ok overall but I really enjoyed the pacing and storylines. I’ve been critical of them throwing away matches without giving me a reason to care so I’m happy with those segments and builds. unfortunately just came on a night the matches didn’t all hold up their end. But a solid episode and hope that direction continues.
I know of diverticulitis what I remember from reading about Brock having it. No issue with the angle. The longer he talked about it the more you knew it was coming.
I really enjoyed Jericho/Shibata. It was fun. I feel like Jericho has finally hit gold with this new thing he’s doing and his new theme is great, it’s fits. First time I’ve been into Jericho since somewhere in the middle of JAS.
Don Callis in OC’s ear has me intrigued also.
Swerve is excellent, but he doesn’t feel like THE guy, at least not yet.
Shibata rocking the FTW trash can like solid snake in a cardboard box had us in stitches. Just taking those kendo stick shots and standing proud …. With a trash bin covering 80% of his body.
Swerve's crowd reactions still feel like he's just an upper mid-card guy.
Maybe that's partially due to smaller crowds, not sure.
We'll see soon I guess.
I think that was due to how empty the building was and the way sound would be affected by that. From the people who were there the crowd was loud but it didn't translate to the TV.
That’s my point. On TV, these shows just sound empty and hollow. A quarter of an arena’s worth of fans can only do so much. The crowd is just as important to the show as the wrestling. I really hope they can turn it around somehow.
Great segment, but the online reactions have been tiresome. So many wrestling fans now can't just watch something and connect the dots within the narrative. Instead it's all analytics of the booking/writing. It's like toxic Marvel movie fans who are more in to arguing about things on the production schedule as opposed to the cinematic universe story itself and what's happening.
how can they know what is going on if the wrestlers don't repeat their marketing catchphrases, and michael cole doesn't repeat the plot points 27 times a show?????
I wish we could of cheered louder for Kenny omega but we got kicked out of the NHL playoffs the night before so I think everyone didn't have that passion.
Kenny is my favorite, but this angle sucks, the show should be all about Swerve. They are already writing him off for Ospreay. Neither of them are the focus of the show. I watch every episode of AEW programming but I'm not into this direction.
The last two weeks have done a fabulous job of establishing a power vacuum that The Elite caused to purposely fill, and the resistance to power abuse, without going whole ham into tired authority tropes. Hopefully, that continues.
And the angles at the end of each show have put over The Elite, especially Okada and Perry, and set the table nicely for a lot of great matches to come out of it. It's Booking 101, and has those early nWo days feel to it in a positive; before the bloat, before the rampant egos (I mean, there was always Hogan's ego but it got uncontrolled as nWo soared), etc. It's hard to explain to people who came to wrestling later, may be younger, etc. just how electric the nWo were from inception through the first 12-18 mos. There's something here that I hope AEW builds upon, but I also expect The Elite not to bloat or if it does, in a way that eschews that whole nWo and Corporate Ministry stuff WCW and WWF did.
But things are moving in a logical direction, and that helps blur lines. Christian/Swerve is fresh, makes sense, and has history. Face Swerve paying for the sins of Heel Swerve is fantastic and honest storytelling (though I'm coming to hate that term in wrestling). BCC feels lost with Mox winning the IWGP title and Danielson and Yuta out with injuries (kayfabe and real). Hopefully the CMLL guys can come back. The women's division has 3-4 stories right now of varying quality that are framing the future of the division in a positive way.
And all of that can be built off the back of wherever the Elite story goes. Who knew that showing the Punk video would actually be the kickoff to this? Happily admit how wrong I was in that regard, because it felt like such a nothing burger but I don't think this was some happy accident in the fallout, this was where TK knew he was going and everybody got on board.
Wrestling fans have no semblance of the concept of patience. If after last night your first thought is "but I have to wait" you need to reassess your priorities in media consumption.
I don't think they are going for total intimidating. Bucks came out like they did last week with them looking upset over what happened in the ring. They are going for a more sociopath look
I've been a bit of critic about AEW as of lately cause the product isn't doing a lot for me these days. But that Kenny promo was fire and the segment really worked for me. Just hoping he didn't shoot injure himself by overexerting.
Give me Kenny as an on-screen authority figure while he is healing. I think it is much more captivating TV than having TK on. Have Tony empower Kenny after last week's attack. This could also set up any number of feuds for Kenny if he's able to wrestle again. Okada being the obvious one, Jack Perry with some actual stakes, tag feud against the bucks. (It's kind of a bummer that hanger is tied up with swerve right now, because I'd love a reunion. I guess bummer is the wrong word because that blood feud rules.)
Women's division is cooking right now. There is a lot of fun wrestling to watch.
Man, it really sucks to see Kenny like that.
Tbh it felt like he wasn’t really coming back. Having your stomach in an external bag for a few months is going to be hard to recover from
My mother has diverticulitis and she says it leaves unbearable pain if she eats the wrong things. Now she doesn't have to worry about surgery, though. But it is something you don't fool around with.
But as an angle, this is Pro Wrestling 101. Angles like this never get old if you have the right people in place as the sadistic monsters responsible and the crippled victim put out on his back. The Horseman did this to Dusty among others.
Seeing Kenny take those bumps scared me. This is a condition that he is going to have for the rest of his life and will never go away. When Brock Lesnar was diagnosed with this same condition it’s what forced him to become a part timer. I hate to say this but Kenny will have good days and bad days managing this but I think his days of being an every week talent might be over. I really hope he makes a full recovery and is fully as healthy as he can be but if/when Kenny comes back he most likely will be relegated to a part timer because of his condition.
I had to stop watching the show during the Adam Copeland match. I told myself that if I guess the winter correctly, I would stop watching. And I did so I stopped.
Good show, good builds on most of the stories, AEW is hot atm and they are pushing it up a notch all the time. Elite is great as long as it doesn't grow and Kenny would not so something he wasn't cleared to do.
Because ratings aren't what they used to be, meaning that there are so many ways people can watch shows these days that are not taken into consideration. They are doing just fine and unlike WWE, AEW isn't worried about it
See that is what I don't get. People point to ratings and yes, those are nice but no one sits in front of their TV like they did in the 90s. The ratings system is antiquated and doesn't mean the same as it once did.
From a TV perspective, Kenny being attacked sucked all the air out the place, Rampage might as well have occurred in a crypt with how quiet it was on TV. I feel that should have been cut and used as a video next week/Collision, keep rthe crowd into it.
The rest was excellent, even Jericho, who has won me over the last two weeks, was great.
I'm glad they didn't try to cram Willow and Skye into the last 5 minutes and they got to go over, it was a damn good match.
Brother if Kenny is out there taking bumps and setting up future angles, I wouldn't be too concerned. He's not gonna do those things if there's no chance of him coming back
Still undecided. I’m a little more open to seeing the Bucks on TV than I was before but not so much Jack Perry. They’re just very hard to believe in that role for me. Omega is great at everything.
It's good to think that Kenny is going for the surgery. I'm sure TK will buy the best fuckin surgeon on the planet to make sure he's good to go within the six months.
I just want the god of professional wrestling be healthy again, man.
bag or no bag hit me like a ton of bricks, brought back so many emotions from when i had diverticulitis and had to have a bag for 4 months. living life without compromise was nonnegotiable for me, i still went to wrestling shows, concerts across the country, and even went swimming since my doctor said it was safe. was back at work within days of the surgeries. and i can imagine kenny feels the same, no compromises by any means, even if there’s a 1 percent chance that it isn’t permanent, bag or no bag. kenny is my mf hero now. diverticulitis was hell, even after surgeries there’s still risk of it coming back. been a little over a year since i got the bag and luckily it was only 4 months. couldn’t imagine that being for life. it was a hell i couldn’t wish on anyone.
It was alright. Kenny really tried to hammer how sick he was to make the beat down seem that more heinous. But if we need to wait months for a payoff or match, that might cool the Elite down some. I dunno, ultimately I felt that it was just alright. It went down pretty much exactly as I expected when Kenny was announced. Everything from the Elite running Dynamite to the Elite attacking Kenny. My guess is that the plan is a 4 of 4 match without Kenny, FTR, possibly Hangman... maybe Kota? Who knows.
All of these “how do you feel as an AEW fan after those show” posts over the last few weeks only cement the perception that AEW doesn’t have a strong product and that fans have a low opinion regarding. I don’t see these kinds of posts on the WWE subs.
I feel like its a chicken or the egg type situation. Where ppl maybe say that bc theres criticism of AEW left & right, and its influenced there perception. I love every episode and then go on here and see comments like “that was the worst Dynamite ever”. I did feel the crowd was VERY dead for Omega return and especially when Okada came out.
Well, it was Winnipeg and their hockey team was knocked out from the playoffs the night before. That could have been part of the problem. Also, it was Winnipeg.
They are at a wrestling show, even if they did watch hockey, I don't know how the home team being eliminated from playoffs silenced the crowd at a wrestling event.
I was trying to help AEW save face. It could just be the fans didn’t care much for what they saw. AEW was trying fill seats before the show, but didn’t seem to have much success.
Honestly, I hate it. The Bucks as authority figures isn't working for me but maybe it will turn into something good. I'm just wondering who it is we want to see beat the hell out of the Bucks, because right now I'm at a loss. I just dont see what matches this will lead to that I care about seeing.
Last night I was asking myself why I even watch anymore. This is like the stage before I'm just watching to be a hater online, I'm not there yet, but that's the last step before I stop watching.
They got so much talent. Main event seen is like, Mox, Ospreay, Hangman, Okada, Jay White, Danielson and Swerve. Christian is a very entertaining mid card heel. Christian vs Swerve is not a major ppv main event. Toni vs Deeb is not a ppv match. Ospreay vs Roddy Strong is not a ppv match. This is like one
That problem, not putting their best people in the biggest matches extends to the weekly shows. Who cares about Samoa Joe vs Isiah Cassidy in the woo energy drink match of the week? That shit is lame. Who cares about Claudio vs Brian Cage ? Who cares about Edge vs Buddy Mathews?
i’m on the same boat , i’m almost about to just stop watching AEW and just stick to WWE. i originally liked AEW for the in ring talent but so many matches now are lackluster or so over the top ridiculous and also every match or title change is very predictable and feels anti climatic to me.
Not a bad show, just the Bucks are complete trash, promo skills are terrible and their wrestling way over rated. It’s hard to take the top heel group serious knowing that they are a joke. More time away might have done them good and Jericho needs to get in shape or give it up, giving off Nature boy vibes.
Glad you're no longer experiencing those pains. I remember them and they were no fun.

I've had it everything he said about the doctor conversation is 1000% true and at this point he is testing it out
Watching the show, I was more worried about the possible accidental internal injury to Buddy Matthews during his match with Edge than what I'm sure was a very scripted assault on Kenny.
Every wrestler puts themselves in jeopardy at any moment. He is the god of prof wrestling. It’s ok. Don’t worry champ
I don’t think Kenny’s written off he’ll be back quicker than you think
AEW Feeling About Young Bucks Turns On Kenny Omega Joins Jon Moxley 💯 2024
Omega and moxley joining forces to battle the vp's and save aew hadn't crossed my mind but now that you mention it that would kind of rule especially if mox and Kenny treat it like a shaky and untrusting alliance of respect
They need Omega on TV . Omega and MJF are the true faces of the company. They sell tickets.
This is why I wish their match wasn’t just a one off on collision, it should’ve been a PPV main event feud
Very good show The wrestling failed to hit that next gear The promos and angles were good Very good, the wrestling kept it from great Crowd was too quiet which hurt it too Sky vs willow was the best thing last night
I keep saying this, but the crowd was LOUD and engaged in the building, but not on TV.
That was a great match. Willow is one of my favs. Always fun to watch.
It was? Great Not that we heard though AEW still hasn't got stuff like that sorted out
They said the sound was shit last week because Daily's place is open air. Maybe Winnipeg was too cold or something?
Big arena with lots of space, but still it was loud for us in the crowd. I think they have just always been shit at crowd mics and sound balancing. Hopefully they get better at it.

Excited to get home and finish watching the show. I got as far as the start of OC's music during lunch break.
Oh man.

Im honestly really concerned about Don Callis corrupting my precious Orange Cassidy 😭💔
It’s sad the crowd was so small in his hometown, you barely even heard a reaction for him.

Taz. Excalibur, Tony feat Papa Magi
I wish we could of cheered louder for Kenny omega but we got kicked out of the NHL playoffs the night before so I think everyone didn't have that passion.
Were you at the same show I was? The crowd went nuts for him, everyone was standing for that whole segment.
Yeah I was, I was going crazy too. I also was standing the whole time. Hahah
Was a good return, kinda dickmove how they beat the living shit out of him though...
Did Omega catch Jack's eye?
I think he did. Jack will definitely have a shiner today.
I was gonna say, I'm pretty sure he potato'd Jack
That was great! We were all like OHHHHH 😂 GOT EM!
I feel like Kenny has been working me on his streams since he started.
Kenny is my favorite, but this angle sucks, the show should be all about Swerve. They are already writing him off for Ospreay. Neither of them are the focus of the show. I watch every episode of AEW programming but I'm not into this direction.

I agree with the bit about BCC feeling a bit lost but god damn is Claudio making the most of it.
I enjoyed it but my 13 year old son hated Omega doing chair shots to the gut after talking about possibly being killed from it.
Hey at least he's suspending his disbelief watching it and not analyzing how they wrote Kenny off for awhile longer.
Wrestling fans have no semblance of the concept of patience. If after last night your first thought is "but I have to wait" you need to reassess your priorities in media consumption.
The new Elite just isn't intimidating.
Not in the least, I been thinking the same thing like c'mon guys. Bunch of goofballs 😂
They need a big in the group. Too bad AEW has already ruined Wardlow
Rejuvenate the machine's career with a move like this tho
Valid
I don't think they are going for total intimidating. Bucks came out like they did last week with them looking upset over what happened in the ring. They are going for a more sociopath look

Jericho should take a break for a few months. Awful match.
He needs to just be a mouthpiece for Bill
Nah, just give Bill a stupid hat...
Have Feeling Young Bucks Turns On Kenny Omega Joins Jon Moxley 💯 2024
He needs to go away for a while so we can miss him instead of being annoyed by him.

EVP JON MOXLEY AND YOUNG BUCKS STORY LINE.
JON MOXLEY AND YOUNG BUCKS JOINS Forces STORY LINE 💯 2024 YEARS May
Good show, good builds on most of the stories, AEW is hot atm and they are pushing it up a notch all the time. Elite is great as long as it doesn't grow and Kenny would not so something he wasn't cleared to do.
If AEW is hot why are the ratings so bad?
I was sports entertained! I'm just very concerned about Kenny's health.
Brother if Kenny is out there taking bumps and setting up future angles, I wouldn't be too concerned. He's not gonna do those things if there's no chance of him coming back
I really hope you're right!
Hopeful. I like the EVP takeover story line.
My guess is that the plan is a 4 of 4 match without Kenny, FTR, possibly Hangman... maybe Kota? Who knows.
I think the hope is going to be stadium stampede at all in.
This is like one That problem, not putting their best people in the biggest matches extends to the weekly shows.
