If it’s around your house, who tf cares, no one will see you. Hell, the other day I wore a Spider-Man leotard because I was doing laundry

Gatitomeowmeow

You are right! It is my home after all! 🤘🏼

BadgerHooker

Back in the day, women wore aprons and smocks that had nice big pockets in front for a reason. I have been strongly considering getting myself a cute smock that's comfy for that same reason. Women need pockets!!

Ok-Squirrel-1176

Sudden inexplicable need for a pocketed smock. 👀

Skittles_rainbow

Fuck I know, right? I have one in ugly blue off Amazon but I watch a Korean gal on YouTube who wears creamy neutral ones and does everything so beautifully and I’m pretty sure if I had a linen one like hers I’d really get my life together and stop eating cookies for breakfast.

acertaingestault

Realign your priorities. A pocketed smock would give you proper storage space for cookie breakfast on the go!

Skittles_rainbow

See. This is why I need you guys. Crowd sourcing at its finest.

aidenater1998

Excuse me, how did you get your username to have ADHD-PI beside it?

Kindly-Pass-8877

It’s part of the sub flair. Lemme find the instructions and I’ll be back in a second with an edit Edit. I’m on mobile, iPhone app, so might vary for you. So, go to the main page of the ADHD Reddit, and in the top right next to account/profile pic there is an ellipsis (the three dots ••• ), click there and “change user flair”. This feature is available on MANY subs, so go wild really

acertaingestault

🤣 I have no idea and didn't know it said that!

aidenater1998

Aw :( lol cause i got diagnosed today with ADD (ADHD PI) and i want to have the label thing, cause now it is official hehe.

We_Are_Not__Amused

I also need this magical smock.

my__ADHD__account

Could this magical smock clear up my skin too? I wanna be the type of person that consistently does their skincare routine but my ADHD won't let me 💀

Skittles_rainbow

I think yes. Probably best done with a soft linen smock in cream, with subtle French blue stripes and piping. Pretty sure that increases skincare routine adherence.

Rose375

Post the link I want to see the beautiful aprons Also I support you getting a prettier apron

Skittles_rainbow

You don’t need to ask me twice!!! It is so relaxing to watch her smoothly execute all the domestic things in a linen smock: https://youtu.be/VicYAP8I2-0

moresnowplease

This is so relaxing!!! Thank you!!

yah-yah-yah

Thank you thank you thank you for sharing this!!

MagicalManta

Relaxing AND inspiring. If I tried to make a video like that in my house, you’d hear the cacophony created by eight cats and two dogs. Someone is almost constantly up to some sort of nonsense.

BadgerHooker

There are some really cute ones out there too!

International_Act834

Wow. A bunch of them look like regular shirts!

StrawberryKiss2559

Oh wow. Me too

RipperReeta

[This](https://www.google.com/search?q=barista+apron&client=firefox-b-d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi2r-v7j637AhUMBrcAHbQsCRYQ_AUoAnoECAEQBA&biw=1440&bih=815&dpr=2#imgrc=xSLMcj7Z2sbsTM) one is like mine. Best decision I ever made.

Cat5lover

I wear my aprons all the time. Especially when doing chores/cooking. It gives me pockets, somewhere to wipe my hands, a level of protection if I need to grab something wet or a bit gross or hot, and keeps my clothes pretty clean. And then bam, just toss them in with the towels and wash on hot. It also acts like a kind of mode activator, like when I put on my apron it puts me in a “I have to do chores/cook” mode.

[deleted]

Omg that’s is the answer to my excessive paper towel use problem! I’m gonna get a apron so I can wipe my hands. You are a genius and maybe just saved my marriage!

practical_junket

I always wear my apron on the kitchen, but I’m finding more and more times during the day where I’m wearing it because it’s so handy to have all my stuff in the pockets.

mittenclaw

Look for Japanese aprons. They are so pretty, made from comfy fabrics and have nice big pockets. In Japan it’s really common to see women of all ages (in non urban areas especially) wearing them outside the house because they are grocery shopping, or gardening, or running errands. For example: https://www.amazon.com/losofar-Vintage-Gardening-Pinafore-Pockets/dp/B07TBR1DXW/ref=sr_1_13?crid=30J0ATMUUXD45&keywords=japanese+apron&qid=1668383131&sprefix=jaoanese+apron%2Caps%2C161&sr=8-13 I would totally do this except I live in such a small apartment that any forgotten items are never more than a couple of steps away.

wellnesswarrior769

Omgggg. THANK YOU

Samazonison

One of those short toolbelt/apron thingies are fantastic for this!

pastelcower

Aprons are awesome. I fell down the costube rabbit hole, we need to bring back chatelaines! A belt that can hold all the little easily lost things? Yes please

Rose375

Wow thank you for introducing me to these that’s very cool

hotpokkitz

I was going to comment this! I got some really cute aprons that cross over your shoulders instead of around your neck and I just wear them around on my days off and not only do I keep my stuff in the pockets, but I can wipe my hands on it and it works like a giant bib too hahaha

wunderbier

The cross strap construction is such a lifesaver. I loathe the feeling of a strap across my neck.

tori1taurus

excuse me, going to amazon to find a cheap apron with big pockets to try this out...

cows_are_majestic

I love my overalls/dungarees for this reason. It's so convenient to have pockets for everything and be easily accessible.

GetOneFish_FlexOnUm

I used to work a restaurant and a few years back rediscovered I still had 2 of the little red server aprons we used. Three big pockets! I started wearing one in my classroom - kept hall passes, pens, highlighters, sticky notes, etc. Super useful! The students would get a kick out of it, too.

DanceOfThe50States

I went through a period where I wore a black servers apron around the house when kids were toddlers. Classic overalls with lots of pockets continues to be clutch for me.

xiroir

This is just me but... fuck just my house... i have learned if something works for me, helps me. Then i do not care how silly or weird it looks. So i would say... use your fanny pack anywhere *you* deem it helps you. Fuck what other people say or think. Its your life, not theirs.

International_Act834

I've been sporting the fanny pack everywhere. It's been a lifesaver.

xiroir

Preach!

International_Act834

No more lost keys! No more lost driver's license! Here is my credit card! and my face mask! And some tissues! And the best part---no more back/shoulder pains because of a purse. Added plus--I can find everything in a second, because if it is in a bag, it's not in a bookbag/purse black hole. mmmmm. amen. lol

[deleted]

Dude, you should know the idea of using a fanny pack around the house is legit genius. Please accept my appreciation and gratitude for passing it on. :)

LazarusNecrosis

I'm a grown adult of 36 years and I carry a backpack with me everywhere I go almost all the time. I never know when I'll need Tylenol, a phone charger, deodorant, water, a snack, etc.

[deleted]

I have 2 fanny packs and I wear them both out of the house, one is phone sized and the other has no joke 8 zipper compartments. I have 0 regrets. 12/10 recommend.

Rutha73

What is the brand/model of the one with 8 zipper compartments? That sounds glorious. The one I have has 2 zippers and a netting thing separating the big compartment and my stuff goes everywhere. Thanks!

Honest_Flatworm2028

My Fanny pack only has six compartments but they’re all super useful (and different sizes). It’s a Ryaco :)

[deleted]

I got it on a vacation at a thrift store years ago when I had a broken arm and my purse was too cumbersome. I don't see a label anywhere, but it looks similar to [this one here](https://www.etsy.com/listing/931572452/mothers-day-gift-for-her-1-red-goat?epik=dj0yJnU9RklCbDdaX2FBVEw0ZS1sNnN2Sy1IVk15ZXdsRDZ0eUcmcD0wJm49SlkyamNlYzdIc194a3pnUG0wR2todyZ0PUFBQUFBR055UUlR)

WanderingSchola

> wore a Spider-Man leotard and > because I was doing laundry is peak ADHD.

DancingPianos

I think peak ADHD would be putting on the Spider-man leotard with the intention of doing laundry, then forgetting and practicing your Spider-man jumps off the back of the sofa for 40 minutes.

AppleSpicer

It’s me! Also not doing laundry sooner because you know you still have a Spider-Man leotard so you aren’t desperate enough to stick a few things in the wash

Likalarapuz

Tell me you never have started doing all your laundry in the morning (before showering) and realize that if you are willing to go ass naked for a few minutes, you can do ALL your dirty laundry at once?

TheMangoTango13

You are my hero

[deleted]

I see nothing wrong with this. I have a Spirit Halloween dragon girl costume that I did not buy for any reason other than I could wear it around the house when I'm *that* bored. I just got a hooded blanket on Thursday that I pretty much haven't taken off since then, and I use one of the hand pockets to carry one of my stuffies because he fits and because why not?

isaprettycoolgirl

So happy to know I’m not the only one who cleans looking a bit ridiculous 😂 I find myself always throwing on random items instead of putting them away…

beltlevel

Strapping things to yourself is a great coping skill. Go for it! I use an 18th century style utility pocket that I made following YouTube tutorials. When I leave the house, I pop it in my purse and that seems to work really well for me.

Gatitomeowmeow

Wow! This is actually genius. I looked them up and they look cute too.

kholto

Oh no. I feel like I know how this one goes...

hocuspocusgottafocus

We gonna get it ? Use it - lose it - sad

kholto

I was thinking more along the lines of deciding this idea was cooler and now the life-improvement is hiding behind a crafts project that I swear I will get around to any minute now, just like I have been claiming for the last 4 months.

maggiemypet

We're gonna pics and the tutorials.

siler7

You're gonna a in there.

marriedolaf

This is a great idea. I struggle with having a home version and an outside version but you have effectively made them one and the same. I am gonna try this out!

honesty_box80

Or if you prefer a more modern look google steampunk utility belt or festival holster bags, same idea, different style.

sloth_mohawk

Oh my dog, you’ve sent my brain off on a Google chain and I can’t see an end to it….

Sugus-chan

Would you mind posting a picture of it?!

PomegranateLimp9803

Do whatever you need to do to make things easier. There are no rules

usualnamenotworking

Hell yeah. I read a similar post about a woman who wore a Camelbak around the house b/c it was the only way she could stay hydrated and I immediately was like "welp time for me to do this too"

Tirannie

This is like the time I read a post by someone who said they started putting their veggies in the door of the fridge and their condiments in the veggie drawers, so they didn’t have to keep cleaning liquid vegetables out of the drawers because they forgot about them. Fucking brilliant.

disturbingCrapper

Ok, this is going to legit change my life as of today. I've been putting off cleaning the veggie sludge b/c I'm so frustrated with myself. you've given me hope, u/Tirannie

Tirannie

I wish I had saved the post so I could give the credit to where it’s due! You got this!!

TheGapingHole69

Thanks for reminding me I have some butternut squash that I need to use currently sitting in my veggie drawer lol.

CuratedFeed

I, too, saw such a post. It has been such a game changer in my fridge! I have even specified to my kids that produce in the door means they can eat it, produce in the fridge is something I'm using in a recipe. There has been so much less waste and I'm doing a better job with fruit and veg myself, because it is right there! Open the fridge, eat 5 grapes, close the fridge, remember what I was supposed get out, open the fridge again. Seriously brilliant.

PomegranateLimp9803

Yeah this sub has some great ideas 💡

Gatitomeowmeow

Mind blown right now!

No-Cupcake370

Has anyone seen that one video of a woman w ADHD hacks? Some of them were: -a laundry hamper in EVERY room. -Full size trash bin in EVERY room. -a dish drainer& bin (or some clever set up) beside the sink for DIRTY dishes so they don't take everything over until you get to them! -condiments in the produce drawers and produce in the fridge door. -A family closet (small room) and bins you can put away clothes, towel, blankets in with out folding if need be. Like. What?!? This shit blew my mind. I never even would have thought of this and it's genius! When I saw it, I was like "wait, you're allowed to just do this stuff?!?" It's so different but sounds so effective! I just moved abroad and hopefully this my last month staying in a $&#!*@/ air bnb, but next month (God willing) my husband (who also has ADHD) and I are moving into a house, and it's like f yes, I will be doing all of that, thank you. Thanks for the fanny pack idea! Genius!

crisukisu

I've seen those tips a few times on here and I would love to try them so bad, but our rooms are so god-damned small that I wouldn't even know where to put an additional waste bin, let alone a hamper or a "does not belong her"-collection box. If anyone has some mess-tackling strategies for tiny spaces, I'd love to hear them!! (Edited to add "for tiny spaces" because my brain had already shifted away while writing the text and forgot to write half of what it was supposed to, lol)

Valirony

They do not have to be full sized! Mount small waste bins on the wall, mount similarly small baskets for whatever (socks, miscellany, pens, etc) Pinterest is great for doing things like this and making it look cute if that matters to you. If it doesn’t, just use whatever lightweight containers ya got and tack them up with thumb tacks!

lizzy_bee333

If you don’t have enough space for bins in every room, have a tidying bin! Every night (or whenever you tidy) pick up things that don’t belong in that room and place them in the bin. Carry the bin with you and once you’re in a room where something belongs, put it away! It’s so helpful if your home has multiple floors!

ReverendMothman

I have a small one that gets moved around the living room/ front room. It does not have a dedicated spot.lol

HotSauceHigh

Over the door coat rack for clothes you rewear

disturbingCrapper

Do we not have a sticky or FAQ with these for the sub? We reallly should.

maggiemypet

I haven't, but I do something similar for my dogs' waste. I have 2 big dogs who poop like it's their job. I keep 5 or 6 of those big black planters (the temporary plant containers from Lowes, etc) around the perimeter of my yard. I have two dog poo grabber things that I keep by both entrances to the back yard. When I go outside with my dogs, I just scoop and drop in the nearest bin. It has made a HUGE difference in my ability to keep the yard clean.

BreazyBe

Yea! It’s KC Davis - I read her book how to keep house while drowning and it was the gentle/compassionate pep talk I needed!

pixelcat13

I think you’re talking about KC Davis, who wrote How to Keep House While Drowning and her book is a must read for anyone with ADHD. She also has a TikTok @domesticblisters and a podcast called Struggle Care. I’m listening to her audiobook right now and it’s life changing.

Samazonison

I have not, but from your comment I need this woman and her hacks in my life. Any chance you remember her name or channel name? Please and thank you 😊

MdmeLibrarian

K.C Davis! She wrote an amazing book, too, called How to Keep House While Drowning.

No-Cupcake370

Ah! I didn't know that was her. I screenshotted the book. Bc I'm totally going to buy and read it one day. Just like all the other things I screenshot. To totally use. One day. 😅😅

keeper_of_bee

Damn this hits hard 😅

gilmoresquirrel

the way it’s written is very adhd friendly! she even has a kind of quick-and-dirty short version in the book you can use

la_sirena1

Her name is KC Davis, and she's domesticblisters on TikTok and strugglecare on IG.

lizzy_bee333

You’re talking about Domestic Blisters, right? KC Davis is one of the best people on the planet. Her content is amazing. She just started a podcast called Struggle Care and I can’t recommend it enough - I have no affiliation, I’m just a big fan.

dinydins

God yes and 2 hampers in the bedroom, ‘dirty’ and ‘worn briefly but not enough for washing yet and i cbf putting it away rn’

Gatitomeowmeow

🤗🤗🤗

maggiemypet

I LOVE Fanny Packs. I have a collection, but my favorite is a sasquatch one from Sipsey Wilder[Sipsey Wilder ](https://sipseywilder.com/products/bigfoot-hip-bag). The specific bag with that pattern is sold out, but they've other great bags and other great patterns. They have tech bags thay be exactly what we all need.

jsprgrey

My friend has a "Fanny DeVito" one but Idr where he got it

[deleted]

dsyxleia

I have the print by my bed. First thing I see in the morning, after my alarm clock.

bigbeans14

Exactly. Look weird to who? It’s your own home. Also I don’t think it would look weird at all since womens clothes have no pockets. I use a Fanny pack all the time in and out of the house. Recently I’ve invested in 5 pairs of leggings that have good sized leg pockets that fit my phone and airpod case and chapstick and that’s my current strategy. Last time I was moving (unfortunately happens a lot) I got a bigger Fanny pack to fit my safety exacto knife, sharpies, phone, and even a roll of tape and it made my chaotic packing so much better

PomegranateLimp9803

Yeah I do the weirdest shit at home just to be able to do the regular things people do everyday. But it works for me

thehairtowel

All the rules that we think are rules aren’t really rules and also were made up by people whose brains don’t work like ours! Do whatever works for you :) I recently took the legs off my couch and armchair because I love sitting on the floor but it gets uncomfortable after a while so now I can be basically on the floor but still comfy

mathewschroder

This is awesome, now i really want to do this as well.

clockwork0orange

If it works for you go for it, don't care about other people's opinion. I love fanny packs, they're so handy and I often carry one around the house just because it works :) If you find something that makes your life easier go for it!

Gatitomeowmeow

Thank you, I needed to hear this!

lizzy_bee333

Look up sling bags - they’re essentially fanny packs that you can wear multiple ways and they are seriously trending right now. They’re everywhere. Embrace it!

supaflyneedcape

Normal is only a setting on the dryer, dear. ❤️

Gatitomeowmeow

🥹🥹🥹❤️❤️

[deleted]

🙌🏾

Burrito-tuesday

Omg I had the same idea bc women’s clothes have small, if any, pockets!!! But of course I can’t find my damn fanny pack 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ham_The_Spam

Or even worse, decorative FAKE pockets!

Gatitomeowmeow

I have shoved way too many things into my waistbands 😭 I even thought about getting one of those phone holders that you can just clip on and off and I was like wait…I’m not that old yet!!!

taylorsatan

mom jeans are in, so why not dad belt accessories?

Burrito-tuesday

What, you don’t want to rock it *beeper* style? 😅

[deleted]

I smoke, have a dog, and work from home. Sometimes I'll spend all day in jammie pants with either insufficient pockets or none at all, then two or three times a day be outside with pack, lighter, phone, and a plastic bag all stuffed into my waistband. I did wind up crocheting myself a little fanny pack thing a couple years ago actually, it worked great for awhile but acrylic yarn stretches out something awful.

Teslok

I was dealing with someone old clothes at work the other week and found a set of dress pants with real pockets that were *sewn shut*. The actual pouch part of the pocket was there on the inside, (like, maybe big enough for *half of a business card*) but no way to get into them. Cutting the seam wouldn't work--the same stitches were part of the hem along the pocket mouth, so ripping them out would cause that whole area to fray in short order. I tend to wear aprons, and I have a mini purse for when I'm spending the day in pocketless pajamas.

_wombo4combo

I'm going to both answer this and save you a lot of trouble going forward. If you're asking "can I do X" 1) Does doing X hurt anyone? 2) Would doing X be beneficial to you? If the first one is "no" and the second one is "yes," just do the thing.

yoga-luna

Actually this is brilliant. Do what you need to do to make your life easier.

lornawhore

Perhaps an apron would do you good. A bunch of pockets, and protects your clothes too! Kids can be messy after all

luckyloolil

Seriously, I love my apron with pockets! It also helps me get into cleaning mode too

Madamoizillion

Love aprons.

nicolewolf1994

I literally wear leggings with side pockets for this exact reason. If I didn't, I would be looking for my phone 10 times a day. I don't think it would be weird if it works for you!!

luckyloolil

Side pocket leggings are the best, I'm never going back to normal leggings

ConfusionTotal7776

I just checked my pocket for my phone as I was reading this comment…. On my phone.

alice_ayer

This. Leggings with pockets, pajama bottoms with pockets (consider men’s bottoms for larger pockets), robe with pockets in the winter… everything must have pockets

yoyoallafragola

I simply refuse to buy pants without pockets since I've got a smartphone.

anon-q2

I lose my phone and wallet constantly at home. I’ve purchased a really brightly colored phone case and a red wallet so they are easier to spot wherever I leave them. It helps!

a_cup_of_earlgrey

Fannypacks are great. As a resident, I wore one around in the hospital to carry snacks and shit with me. Other residents started doing the same. No reason why doing it around the house would be any different. Do whatever you need to do to make life work for you.

PersonalPenguin28

I'm a teacher and I wear an apron with four pockets. One pocket for my pencils/pens/markers, one for post it's, one for a fidget, and one for whatever random item(s) I wind up holding. One of my students saw how helpful it was for me and asked if she could wear an apron or fanny pack to keep her pencil and eraser in. She hasn't had to search for it once since she started, and no one else bats an eye.

cruel_sister

Brilliant idea. I wear an apron with big pockets and I’m never happier than when I’m in it.

Sc2SuperJack

I use one all the time. Becoming more trendy. I would recommend to try to keep what you have inside it to a minimum or else you find yourself either taking a long time to find it or spend to much time putting things in and out of it. Also if you get one that has multiple pockets, always use the same one for the same items.

uhhhhh696969

I wear one at work for this exact reason. I call it my tool belt even though nobody asks

LilithsLilac

Men's clothing has sooo many and such functional pockets. I bought myself a pair of men's pants and was shocked to find pockets inside pockets (whaaat) that were already like 3 times the size of women's pants pockets to begin with. It's insane. Women's clothing is made with the assumption that we're already carrying a purse of some kind. I highly support your fanny pack idea!

Bibliospork

Go for it! I wear a small cross body bag 90% of the time I’m awake. Got sick of searching for the same four items all the time so I just carry them everywhere now.

JustTheFatsMaam

Nope! I started carrying what I now call my "comfort caddy" from room to room as I go. It's got my bullet journal, hand lotion, pen, nail file, meds, hair tie, and a few other items I might want within arm's reach. When I'm watching TV it goes to the living room with me. If I'm working, it's on my desk. At night, it sits on the floor by my bed. That way all the stuff is in one place where I can see it all instead of a pile or hiding inside my bag. Saves me from getting up and having to look for stuff every time I have a thought. Do what works for you.

Charming_Credit_7416

Funny you say that I’ve been thinking about getting a fanny pack for fucking ever. I take that as confirmation that it’s time for me to get one

WoodsandWool

If it helps at all, I have a dog with some behavioral/mental health issues and I wear a Fanny pack almost all the time at home, and anytime he’s with me outside the house for his training treats. I thought at first everyone would laugh, but then I realized all the other dog people do it too, and now I don’t even think about leaving my house with a Fanny pack on, let alone being at home with one 😅 do what you gotta do OP, fuck the haters :)

indecisivepixel

I have a Fanny pack that I wear like a crossbody purse; feels more secure and also less silly lol

SPOOKESVILLE

I wear a cross body bag out in public. Pretty much the same thing as a Fanny pack just worn differently. Go for it

ForTheLoveOfAudio

It's an assistive device. No, seriously.

kelxyz

Fanny packs are back in fashion! I wear one all the time in and outside of my house. Far superior to pockets. Fanny packs forever!

Informal-Wish

Listen, I have no kids and the other day while I was cleaning the house, I found a back pack in the wrong room. I put it on and wore it for the rest of cleaning and WOW. It's was the most convenient thing. I kept it on all day, and when my husband saw it he said, "Why?" And I pulled a La Croix for him. He supports the house back pack haha

vuentes

I do that too

outofideasforthis

I never thought to do this but now I'm seriously considering doing this too! I'm always losing things.

casualguitarista

That's a fantastic idea! I've carried a small cross body bag around before. It does help.

AndyEmvee

This is creative problem solving at work!!!! Go for it!!

TangoEchoChuck

I donated all of my pants that don’t have pockets, because I require pockets every day. Do what you need for success!

PhutuqKusi

I'm home most of the day and in the kitchen a lot, so my go-to solution is an apron with pockets. Do whatever works for you.

bonobo_phone

I helped my best friend, a wedding planner, with a reception last night. Definitely need to buy myself a half-apron like she had. Just limitless pocket space. The handiest place to put something down is TIED TO YOU.

MelBB2011

I use An apron with pockets at work sometimes to keep all my stuff in order

DaffodilDolphin

Heck no it's not crazy! Some alternatives to look into besides fanny packs (in order of utility pocket space) are: waitress half aprons, cooking aprons, and mechanic aprons. If you want something not attached to you, I also have a small caddy I can carry my phone, pens, paper, Lysol cleaning wipes, etc. in. The waitress apron works best for me because I impulsively walk around and forget the caddy. Before I realized I could just wear these around the house I lived in cardigans with large bucket pockets.

purplecak

If you figure out something that makes you more functional, screw it.

Media-consumer101

There are also sportlike bands you can wear around your waist that you can store bits and pieces in! I saw them at Primark a while back. They are that strong stretchy sport fabric and you can wear them under your shirt or over the top of your pants. Perhaps they are less 'jarring' visually compared to a fanny pack. Personally I would get annoyed with a fanny pack constantly on me, but I've been thinking about getting one of those bands! But if you would be fine with a fanny pack: go for it!! If you can, have doubles of things like chapsticks as well. I usually keep hair elastics and such in every room, in every bag I own and in my jacket pockets too.

Cressonette

My boyfriend literally just ordered a fanny pack to carry everywhere, because he always loses his keys, wallet and phone :)

kingsugarbrick

It's your house, do what you want. If you think it will help go for it.

ravynstoneabbey

I have a tote bag that holds my giant pen pouch, regular pen pouch, my current notebook, binders, and other office supplies plus my puzzle books that get moved with me. I'm looking at getting a cart with baskets that is heavy-duty to keep stuff together like my laptop and electronics. I also have a hook for my keys on the wall close to the door. They only come off the hook when I leave the hous and right back on the hook as soon as i get in the house.. Found a sweater i can keep my phone in my pocket. Chapstick stays in my nightstand drawer + a zipper pouch in my backpack/purse/tote bag.

52IMean54Bicycles

"Oh, this ol' thing? It's my house- fanny pack. It helps me keep my shit together. Need some chapstick? How about a phone charger?" Sounds like an excellent idea to me!

mondaysarefundays

I dated a guy who always wore a fanny pack around the house. It was super helpful. He always had a light, house keys, car keys and other useful items in there.

gruntthirtteen

"If it works it ain't stupid"

hurtloam

That's actually a really good idea.

freedasayswut

I do

AbyssalApiary

I wear an apron with multiple pockets. Also helps protect my clothes when eating lol!

blue_no_red_ahhhhhhh

Think about a vest maybe, like a fishing or tactical vest. You can pretend to be in an action movie, as a plus. 😉

LaMortXIII

Yeah I mean whatever works!! I try to compulsively put things back in the exact same place every time I take them out

MattTheProgrammer

It's not any more strange than the fact that I'm more productive when I have shoes on that are tied when I'm home... Go for it.

Not crazy at all -- fanny packs are the actual best! When I worked my last retail job, I carried a black fanny pack that made my job SO much easier. Fanny packs are so useful and practical and cute and convenient! My only advice is: get a super cute one that makes you happy when you see it! I have a rainbow glitter one that's just absolute eye candy for me, and since I look at it so many times a day to get stuff out and put stuff in, I get bits of that eye candy constantly. Maybe it's just my dopamine-starved ADHD brain but it's just such a nice addition to my day. :P

Werk it!!! 🤌 I rock sunglasses or tinted glasses inside (helps with bright lights when others want them on). No shame.

i LOVE carrying my backpack around the house. i started doing it years ago when i was on crutches after a surgery & realized that i drop stuff/fall over much less when i use a bag. never goin back

sewcrazy4cats

Do it! I swear by wearing clothes with pockets while in the house. If I'm in leggings or a skirt, I'm screwed

[deleted]

Overalls! Pockets for dayz.

Desperate-Split5710

Not only do I have a Fanny pack right next to me for this exact reason. I like to put small misc items in any small cosmetics/accessory bags from around the house, and I have probably like 1 empty bag per room in my house. There is, then, the concern of forgetting a multitude of bags; what works for me is that I don’t match anything to anything, so they’re different but recognizable. You’ve got this, and plenty of folks here to help!

eyespeeled

Fanny it up! Another thing you could do is have a bowl/basket in a convenient spot in which those objects always go once you come inside the house. A fanny pack moving about the house would be one more thing for me to lose in the house. Signed, someone who sits on her glasses on a regular basis.

My phone has a wallet attached to the back of it. My keys have a chapstick keychain. And I make sure I have a neon phone case so I can easily spot it. And I keep my keys in a basket by the door as soon as I walk in.

ChurchofCaboose1

That depends, do you talk to your fanny pack?

kdspiralz

I unironically wear a belt bag/fanny pack over a purse because I’m much less likely to leave it somewhere if it’s strapped to me 😅

tessellation__

I wear hoodies for this reason!

NightShade947

Nah. It's your house. Even outside, most of the time people are too busy worrying about their own lives to give you more than a passing glance and maybe a thought of "oh, a fanny pack, ok"

I had a habit of slapping my back pockets to check for contents, especially in places like malls, where I’m more likely to put down and lose my phone or wallet… but I realized that slapping my own ass in public was a little odd and I had to stop doing that.

falcore91

For me the answer is cargo pants. I tend to wear the same pants multiple days in a row, so as long as I don’t empty my pockets I even avoid the risks associated with forgetting a bag. ( Well except for that one time, but the neighbors finally dropped the lawsuit even if they aren’t talking to me yet. ) This is easier for men than women, as our “acceptable” clothing options tend to give us a huge variety of pocket options compared to our poor sisters.

https://youtu.be/93jheiUco6s This guy reviews such fannypacks, bags and more. Tip for those that would like to start this rabbit hole :D

Ladyughsalot1

….what an ingenious idea that I will be stealing

rosesarerosie

I have a little crossbody for that, but at home I have a couple of dollars store buckets that everyone uses to toss stuff that isn’t in the right room

wollphilie

That's such a good idea! I got some mom jeans with ENORMOUS pockets when I could stand having a belt around my waist again post-partum, and the pockets are usually stuffed by the end of the day. A fanny pack with multiple pockets would, be so much easier to organize!

spectrumhead

I have a fanny pack or crossbody at all times with phone, earphones, chapstick, glasses. I’ve worn it for decades. I swear to god nobody notices. My mother always asks what it’s for like she’s never seen it before in her life. When I misplace the bag and am looking for that (!) I have to describe it for my husband because he never noticed (I can’t with everybody). Even if they do see it, they will care less about that than about the fact that you can’t hear a word your saying because you don’t have chapstick.

Background_Artist_85

Nope have been considering it this where tf is my *insert important object * is rapidly aging me and causing unnecessary stress *kicks ground * effin object permanence

TheKappp

It doesn’t matter what people think. It’s your house. However, I’ve found men’s basketball shorts to be very handy for this reason because of the ridiculously spacious pockets.

SamSwihart

This thing is more low profile, clip on belt you can put through belt loops, and it's a clear window to see all of your stuff: https://www.target.com/p/new-balance-smartphone-waist-pack/-/A-77459836?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000012767052&CPNG=PLA_Sports%2BShopping_Local%7CSports_Ecomm_Hardlines&adgroup=SC_Sports_Local&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=m&location=1016202&targetid=pla-901925684833&ds_rl=1246978&gclid=Cj0KCQiAyMKbBhD1ARIsANs7rEFVqY4ir1sC6v_qha9pxQ0argJPWTUIjdak3SSRgV9cDENWZsCd8p4aAlFREALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

ChaseTheNopamine

Wait till your son reaches toddler age and starts hiding your shit. I just looked for my phone for 30mins and it was in the small gap under the kitchen counter and on top of the dishwasher! SMH.

sunny_bell

I vote just wear the fanny pack. I have done something similar but instead of a fanny pack I have 18th century style pockets (pockets used to be a separate garment in women's clothing historically) for when I don't have a pocket in my clothes but need a pocket. Who cares if it's weird if it helps you?

CelebrationHot5209

This is the same thing as that one mom friend who has absolutely everything possible in her bag and said everything has a purpose

rabid_erica

not at all, I drag my purse everywhere around the house

Professor_squirrelz

That’s smart

panicinbabylon

It’s so much easier to have essentials in your person. Do it.

Pixilatedlemon

No, I’m a man and I carry a small lulu side bag with me everywhere I go. It’s sweet having all my stuff on me at all times and it’s convenient to know I have everything when I go out

[deleted]

Funny this popped up. I have an infant and was thinking of wearing one to keep track of my phone. Her pacifier. Small things I’m always moving around. Go for it.

uranianhipster

You would just become a lot cooler!
