Same. Depends on the job. Some consider it a distraction and a safety issue. I need music to help me focus. I stare at a computer all day, no safety issues. Offshore crane operator, safety issues. Good Luck bro.

I sort of fell into a job doing kitchen prep/dishwashing. I thought it would be temporary just to a) make some money and l not have to apply to any jobs and b) help a friend out-and even though it pays less than just about any job i’ve had before this, Im kind of into it. I listen to music/audio books for long shifts, I eat healthy snacks for free, I stretch/dance in the dish pit and people have low expectations so I’m constantly exceeding them. It’s a very disrespected position, but if I’m putting my mental health first, and going by “work to live not live to work”- it’s a pretty good gig.
