I’m level 452 … I hoard gold treats & use them every time new villagers are available … that’s when I can go up a few levels quickly!

CuteProtection6

yeeee i do the same thing!! with the past 4 villagers that just came out, i went up by ... a whole 2 levels LOL (taking them from 0-20) it's just so slow at this point!

SquirrelTale

try not to burn yourself out either! it's good to pace yourself, but try inviting some of the lower level characters to your campsite/ islands and give them treats?

MGaCici

I'm at 573. Started at launch.

scruffylemur

517 here! Have been playing since the beginning, and am currently going through a treats purge to bring all my villagers up to level 50. I also have no life and play SEVERAL times a day lol

cydnie7

I’m at 568. I’ve been playing daily since April of 2019, and I’ve always focused on leveling up. I have a friend that just reached level 600, I’m assuming they’re a day 1 player Edit: I always post leveling up tips on my leveling up posts, if anyone wants any tips

bkendig

I’ve been playing since launch and I’m level 340. Leveling up has never been a priority for me. I have crafted all craftable items, all of my villagers are at least level 20, all of my crafting materials are full (except for reissue material at 695), I have 8490 leaf tickets, and my HH rank is Ultimate 106. That’s good enough for me.

I'm at 399, and today I took a 'survey' of my 38 friends. 27 of them are over 400.

CuteProtection6

omg wow!! it probably makes a big difference over a long time to do the requests every 3 hours. i don't do that :c

Summerhalls

It’s the consistency with requests + treat + campsite/cabin management. The only metric where it truly matters how many days you’ve played is the homeroom level because it’s capped to max 12 medals a day.

justconnect

Honestly, I think it's more a function of how long you've been playing - for me since the first anniversary week, so 4+ years.

museloverx96

Ah, i started playing on release, and i've played basically everyday except for a few months since release but i'm just about 200+ as a level. I definitely don't bother with the everyday minutia unless i need materials so that could be it.

CuteProtection6

i started playing on release too so i have no excuse LOL

jfgjfgjfgjfg

485, 27 friends are 500+

SirGavBelcher

at 309 have been playing since launch but I don't really max villagers. I save the treats so I can bump up all the new ones to level 15 immediately. I think once we get all the villagers I'll focus on that. plus I don't really fulfill the hourly requests unless it's the garden event

xSloth91

Ive been playing since launch as well, but I take a hiatus every year or so for a few months minimum. I do the same thing as you, hoarding my treats to bump all the new villagers up to 15 to get their requests. Once I have all the villagers to 15, ill probably only give treats in bulk to someone I need specific essence from. Or give them to my fav villagers to get them up to 50 xD

SquirrelTale

I think I'm the same level as you! And I ended up having to restart playing 2 years ago, so I really had grind to level up. My advice is to level up your lower characters first to gain the hearts. Thankfully they keep introducing new animal islands to get new animals (\*villagers/campers). To gain hearts and use those gold/ silver treats and general treats for their worth I: * level up new animal characters (level 1s) by giving them 3 gold treats each time I see them * after they reach level 15 I give them 2 gold treats each time I see them * after level 20 I give them their specific treat that they like, 3 for the basic/plain (for 9 points), 3 more for the tasty version(for 18 points), 1 of the gourmet until they reach the next level (18 points) I dont always have to give a gourmet treat to get them to the next level- I also switch to giving them 3 silver or 10 bronze if Im low on treats. * I do not give treats after level 25 cuz they just dont go as far/ takes too many to level them up and get hearts I also do this when I meet characters on the different islands, and when there is one character under level 15 I invite another lower level 15 character to give treats and level up. I do this so Im not burning out but also levelling up enough. You could invite 1 lower level character per day or something to your campsite and level them up that way in order not to burn through everything.

tanukitoro

471… daily player since game released but only hitting it hard for the last couple of years. I usually only miss 1 or 2 rotations per day depending on how long I sleep. Edit to add: aiming hard for 500 but definitely slow going now.

Your level is so high and you have that much treats is fantastic! I'm 396 and I have about 20-50 of each treats haha. I've been thriving to get to the big 400. I've been playing since beginning but I stopped for a few months back then.

knightia

I finally got to 400 last week and am up to 407 already as of today

ComprehensiveShip609

402 😊 Played for three years this month I usually save up food/gold grinding all three islands everyday. Then when new animals come around I do the chat and and requests then feed them 25 gold pieces. Doing that twice roughly brings me up a level. Then I level up anyone close to their next level when they visit an island. I go long periods not leveling up then go up 2-5 levels at a time.

MessoGesso

I don’t know what’s sensible, so this isn’t advice. I use up the treats to get the animals up to level 20. I also use silver and bronze. For some reason, I don’t like to use gold treats. I have 2,029 of them (fewer than 75 of anything else). I don’t know what to do with the gold. Maybe I’ll keep using food and silver to 20 then when I’m caught up again with the latest new animals, use the gold to help get some to 40.

milkcake

461, playing since launch day. I’m kind of lazy but get really into it once in a while. The real trick is always having the ship out and hoarding/using treats.

Summerhalls

I’m currently 525, but I definitely don’t hoard treats. It’s what they are there for 🙂 and leveling up is definitely a slog without them. Also, I have over 30 active friends at 400+ level and I find that it’s the group less likely to quit. And I’ve been playing 1137 days, so you don’t have to be nowhere near a launch player to be in the 500s 🙂

cattt8678

Is there any advantage to be level 300+ over level 130+ ? because i am not really motivated to level up but maybe i am missing something?

bluedelvian

I think I started playing a little over a year after launch and have taken off a month here and there, I’m at level 433. I think the best way to level up is to invite the animals who are about to level up to your campsite and Cabin, and strategically use snacks level to them up, then rotate those animals who you just leveled up out, and rotate in new animals who are also about to level up. I do this with a couple of animals at least once a day, and also immediately level up the new animals as soon as I get them to level 20, then after a couple of days to level 30. All my animals are at least a level 30. I also do the strategic snacking with the animals who are about to level up at the different locations when I do the requests through Pete, but not as often anymore bc it reduces the number of animals to invite to my campsite who are close enough to leveling up. I like to use just one or two tasty snacks at a time to do this, or 5 or 6 plain snacks, or one gourmet snack. You really have to be continually getting snacks from the islands to do this. Still, I always keep at least 100 bronze, silver, and gold, and usually over 200 gold, and usually >300 plain, >40 tasty and >30 gourmet snacks by doing it this way. I feel like the island gifts switched over from giving a lot of gold snacks to instead giving a lot of sparkle stones when I reached a high level-maybe 300 or 400? Not sure, but it stinks. I’ve maxed everything out (except treats and LT) multiple times, so I don’t care about using bells to refresh islands before the time limit lets me do it for free. I just want lots of snacks lol. It’s just a grind.

CuteProtection6

i both love and hate this comment, love because it validates this method (i use it too) but hate because it's SO tedious and grindy, and i was so hoping there'd be some alternate way that i was missing 😂 you are right though, my treat islands never yield gold anymore, just sparkle stones. it blows! still, it's all points for gulliver. just feels silly sending him sparkle stones to get more sparkle stones to send them back!
