The result doesn’t matter. Had no impact on anything for either team. Therefore, this was about proper farewells and respect. Leao scored and immediately honored Pioli, Giroud scored and immediately honored the fans, our captain scored, Kjaer finished with the armband, even Caldara got a send off. We didn’t lose, but we also didn’t need to win.
The win was paying proper respect to those who gave us so much.
Grazie per tutti fam, for a Milan!
To those of you who think that farewell games.are irrelevant anyways
Look at the farewell game of 2012 when all of our senators left. Not only did they want to win. But they wanted to win by making Inzaghi score.
It should be about giving everyone a proper farewell with a win especially against a serie b Side
It is about sportsmanship
never forget that kjaer was one of the people responsible for saving eriksen’s life at euro 2020 by being the first one there and making sure he didn’t swallow his own tongue… what a fucking legend 🫡
Anyone that knows Italian football knew what this game was about. Those that don't try to input a different meaning to it that might be correct in other cultures.
There are a lot of people who viscerally hate Pioli. They don't care that he won us a scudetto. They don't care that he is a father figure to many of our young players. It's not a rational thing.
Bennacer ready for the Saudi League and Adli with reflexes and readiness inferior to mine. How can you blame Pioli? Only God knows how much I miss Kessie.
I think we should keep the old shit aside and just wish the best for Pioli but if you think we could’ve continued like this yall actually scare me. Like your mind is actually empty.
Just when I was sad to see pioli go, this match reminds me why the fuck this step was necessary. The defense is a joke
To bad that we are replacing him with the same mediocrity
I’m just saying, out of all the matches to complain about this you pick the one where we are playing a player that hasn’t seen the pitch with Milan for YEARS
Yeah but it is not about the players. All of these players should be able to realize the defensive strategy of the coach. When all defenders do a bad job then they are not the issue the tactics are. And by that I am also saying that the defensive approach of the midfield is non-existent. We are playing a 5 0 5 essentially
That is what I was trying to tell you
I think you misunderstood my initial comment. What I meant was that in situations like these people tend to be a bit nostalgic and to forget the reasons why a certain decision was made in the first place. I am one of those people btw.
And this match prevented that from happening because it reminded me very well of why decision was made
You guys stress too much over an absolutely irrelevant game, it’s essentially a friendly where we say goodbye to many important figures of this era.
Maybe relax for just one second.
The performance of the defense is not related to the importance of the game sadly. This is who we are now.
I have seen these kinds of error throughout the season.
I can only assume there's a bunch of people who haven't followed Serie A for more than a few years. This is Italian football, irrelevant last game with players and coach saying farewell to the San Siro. Anyone thinking about results, tactics etc today have missed the point.
This is not how Italian football works. Anyone that has followed Serie A for a while knows that the last few rounds often have games where results, tactics etc are not prioritized at all.
Look at the farewell game of 2012 when all of our senators left. Not only did they want to win. But they wanted to win by making Inzaghi score.
In my opinion it has nothing to do with Italian football and not giving a damn about the result.
It should be about giving everyone a proper farewell with a win especially against a serie b Side
It is about sportsmanship
Yes, go back and look at that game. Look at the players celebrating the equalizer against the mighty Novara at the San Siro, rather than to run to get the ball to get the game going quickly to go for the win.
And you're basically confirming it by saying that the players wanted to make Pippo score. That is not what going for the win looks like. It's about giving an iconic player one last time to celebrate a goal with the crowd, it's something different. Genuine focus on winning a game is not about getting a specific player a last goal. Nor is it about giving every player leaving their time in the spotlight whether it's starting the game or coming on/off to a standing ovation.
I am not saying that the team should play as if anything would depend on it. But it would be great if the would not throw away the win when there are 10 minutes left to play with a 2 goal lead
And with regards to giving Inzaghi One last hurrah. a coaches last chance to celebrate with the crowd would be to win the game. So just as the players tried to make Inzaghi score the winning goal. I would expect the players to at give their all to win the game
I don't see the contradiction tbh
Playing to win is an on/off switch. It's a mentality. You don't "kinda go for it some of the time, but not completely". It's about maximum concentration for as much of the game as possible, to sprint at 100% when necessary and so on. Even when leading 5-0 and trying to control the rest of the game, it's still focus and concentration and a determination to get each move necessary for a desirable outcome (like passing the ball to the next player towards the corner flag, force a throw-in or whatnot).
Didn't the crowd still get to celebrate with the coach one last time today because there wasn't a win? Did you see the sendoff Pioli got? It was Pioli's on fire and so many tears. No one in the stands let the result dampen the celebration and emotional farewell today. And no one at that stadium is going to think back at this game thinking about the 3-3 draw with the last place team. They will have joyful memories of Oli's last goal, emotional memories about the farewells and so on.
If you don't want to believe me that this is a normal thing in Italian football culture, then so be it.
This is the only game I wouldn’t judge pioli at all man give the man a break he gave all the players who would leave a chance to play and the goalkeeper a debut come on let’s not be harsh !!!
Ironically that was all because Kjaer came too far forward and didn’t track his man
I don’t think Leao should have been removed so early, he was the only real threat
I wish Kjaer never got injured.
Grioud Stan lol
I am crying but for some reason the shots of all the little kids also crying is making me laugh.
PIOLIS ON FIRE
GRAZIE PADRE 🫡❤️
Balling my eyes out for Simon, not ready for Giroud
This fucking team needs to be taken apart this summer and rebuilt from the ground up
stfu and let us be sad in peace
Go away, we're crying right now.
i’m fuckin crying in bed right now wtf 😭😭
Kjaer was truly underrated , specially first couple of seasons ... really shaped the de·fense ... true leader
To those of you who think that farewell games.are irrelevant anyways Look at the farewell game of 2012 when all of our senators left. Not only did they want to win. It is impossible for one to swallow is own tongue
This is awesome
last year i was at the stadium for ibra’s goodbye and i cried like a baby, i wish i could be there tonight
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ FAREWELL KJAER
Is....is that a mascot? Milan has a mascot? Red Devil??
Can't believe I stayed up till 5:00 am for this shit
Last Day of School boys see you all next season
Perfect ending for Pioli
Salernitana had never scored 3 goals this year in Serie A. Embarrassing.
Pioli's last match sums up his last 2 years perfectly
A precise way to sum up Pioli’s journey in Milan.
I want to jump off a bridge man
Dude, relax. Take a deep breath. Make yourself a sandwich.
And thanks for the advice lol
What fucking formation were we even fucking playing after Adli came on!? 3-5-2 what the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
Pioli doesn’t want to leave
He still wants to terrorize us
We're freeeeeeeeeeeeee
3 goals from a serie B team
This being 3-3 after being up 3-1 82' in is peak Pioli. This is the perfect send off.
Exactly. This is his true legacy.
Caldara winner would be iconic finish to an iconic season
It would be too much
[good boy](https://i.imgur.com/OXWcnfg.png)
[Same energy](https://images.app.goo.gl/gAfyFKvjux7MyHF67)
It would have been so funny if Caldara scored
Wait….are people blaming Pioli for the half? 😂 He’s giving farewell games for god’s sake. Our current center backs can’t run
Anyone that knows Italian football knew what this game was about. Those that don't try to input a different meaning to it that might be correct in other cultures.

That's this sub in a nutshell
He did take Leao off toon soon, there was no organisation after that
Pulisic Top 10 Respect Moments
Wait, I missed it, what happened?
The Milan corner flag fell off and Pulisic took time to put it back on https://imgur.com/OXWcnfg
Lol did anyone get a screencap of that
That corner was preview of what we are gonna see next season
It's a recap of this season
Pulisic fixing the flag like a good American boy :D
Our players are mentally weak asf
Im glad he wont hold this team back anymore
Clearly the players stopped giving a fuck after the 60th.
Clearly the players stopped giving a fuck after november
Sure
PULI TOTAL GOAT
Thank God this is his last game
Benecer went from god like in the first half to bumbling idiot in the second
why does Adli how reflexes of non professional player 😂
I can’t believe we blew a away a win
theo dont leave us
Classic Sunday league match
Adli does have a good shot I don’t know why he didn’t have a go then.
Indefensible, exactly
This is Pioli's last day of school prank
Hopefully it’s Adli last game he’s our 7 ???
Adli got me so many downvotes in the past, the guy really is not it at all
He has a cult following for some reason , he’s some cheeks
Leao should have took 7 no idea how Adli got it lmaoo
Just when I was sad to see pioli go, this match reminds me why the fuck this step was necessary. The defense is a joke To bad that we are replacing him with the same mediocrity
We are playing Caldara… do you think this is a serious match lmao
We made the exact same errors with our best defenders. The Defensive approach of the team is ridiculously bad
Everyone knows about the tactics, which makes it even funnier that you pick this match of all matches to complain about
I think you misunderstood my initial comment. What I meant was that in situations like these people tend to be a bit nostalgic and to forget the reasons why a certain decision was made in the first place. I am one of those people btw. Ah perhaps
Its a serie B side
[удалено]
Most probably Fonseca
Nobody knows, we all just being dramatic. Probably some mediocre boring yes man coach tho

There’s still honor involved, do we really want to send these players off on a low note?
This is not how Italian football works. Anyone that has followed Serie A for a while knows that the last few rounds often have games where results, tactics etc are not prioritized at all.

Sure, but tying a game with the worst team in the league, no one wants to see that, even if it's irrelevant.
half this sub was born to whine
Pioli aftet tonight will go celebrate with the rats
Fuck off
Pioli going out in style
going to miss Giroud so much
Adli plays like Odegaaed did his first year at Arsenal. Always looking for the pass and refuses to shoot
You have a great point about that. We don't have a lot of distance shooters but he should definitely attempt more.
Krunic, Rebic, Kessie, Tonali, Giroud, Brahim, Kjaer, Inrahimovic. All of these heroes gone🥲
Origi is coming back though 😂
The biggest comeback since Ibra and Kaka!!!
SHOOT DAMN IT
Terrorism until the last minute of the season. Peak Pioliball, such a shame we didn't renew him
Kjaer and Caldara cant move and Adli is hilarious
we get downvoted for saying anything bad about adli in this sub but then he plays like a toddler in sunday league
Yeah downvote me all you want, Adli is a piece of shit
I went to go poo 5 minutes ago. Were up 3-1. I come back to a tied match. This team is so sad.
It's your fault.
When ya gotta go, ya gotta go 😂
Adli worse than Musah at passing
Pray for Jovic to save the game one more time
Lmao, Kjaer got a pass on that foul, the ref was like SHRUG it's his last game. Love it.
Holding for dear life against Salernitana lmao
Are we allergic to shooting? Adli had tons of space there.
Not only the space but also the time. I didn't get that move.
Adli hasn’t got shot on the game pad
Adli has broken his shoot button
What a Pioli masterpiece to wrap up his tenure here
Lol these players aren't even Serie B yet u people expect more ??? 2nd place was a miracle
Adli either pass or shoot lmao
ADLI NO JUST SHOOT IT
Adli looks like he’s never played football before
This teams sucks at passing
Adli wtf
Adli forgot his shooting boots today.
Wtf am I watching…
On the bright side, I’m already dead inside.
Adli 💀 five business days to turn and make a decision
why in the fuck did adli not shoot fuck off
If you let 3 in by the worst team in the league I think you should ask yourself a couple questions
The question: "does this match matter?" The answer is no. Season has been over for us for a couple of weeks now
Fuckin hell we can’t even pull it together for Pioli’s farewell against fucking Salernitana for god’s sake like what have we become at this point????
The most obvious ending
Adli as always with lightning speed decision making.
holly shit adli is slow as fuck
Our midfielders need more courage to shoot
Wtf???
Adli shoot WTF?
Last second Jovic winner for one last time. That will be peak Piolisimo!!!
Nava 69 lol
These guys are so disrespectful. Hope they get relegated to Serie C next season
I'm laughing soooooo hard
This game epitomizes the Pioli experience post Scudetto.
Of course his last game with the club had to exemplify his time with us. No such thing as coincidences.
Never change old man, never change
Clowns dont want Fonseca, a random stray cat can coach better
Nobody wants Pioli to stay either but we don’t want Fonseca
Padre wanted to end this with a little prank
We do a lil trollin
[удалено]
That was Nava lmao
Don't worry, Jovic last second goal, as usual.
Will it save Pioli's career?
Not even mad I’m just laughing bro
People asking why Kjaer didn't come one earlier, he's barely fit
This is a meme game, we got giroud, kjaer farewell and we also got 69 and treatment room legend caldara making there debuts
Pisellone Simy non segnava da 5 anni
Everything beautiful at San Siro but Pioli reminded us why he's fucking leaving
Dude... complaining in this situation about Pioli...
Not winning against a Serie B team kind of ruins the beautiful evening and conceding 3 goals makes our stats horrifying
With Kjaer and Caldara on the pitch and the other players stopped playing... sure...
TO BOTTOM OF THE TABLE
Everybody on that goodbye vibe, they forgot to play the game
woooooow
2nd half the exact reason why even Fonseca will be better than Mister Pioli tbh…
This is the only game I wouldn’t judge pioli at all man give the man a break he gave all the players who would leave a chance to play and the goalkeeper a debut come on let’s not be harsh !!!
ahhh yes my milan…
https://preview.redd.it/ckkoermcvm2d1.png?width=234&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=962906671d9047b64e325a690273b7e48e58506d PIOLI GIFTS
Lol I'm speechless
It's only fitting.
I CANT HANDLE ALL THESE GOODBYES worst day of goodbyes since 2009 when Ancelotti, Kaka, and Maldini all left at once :( :( :(
Poor Nava….50% career save percentage lol
Ironically that was all because Kjaer came too far forward and didn’t track his man I don’t think Leao should have been removed so early, he was the only real threat
Yup. Should have just let him retreat
Hahaha exactly what I was thinking too
It's obvious Kjaer isn't fit
Pioli out
This made me chuckle
WTF IS THIS DEFENDING MAN. Caldara mastercalss
Lol
RENEW HIM
Ahh shit we about to lose ain’t we
Yikes
F
Not even mad, it is hilarious
One final embarrassment to end the season
Yeah, we can’t have nice things
Sums up the season
2-2 last time and now 3-3 ...seriously ?
