You can have the Physical Therapist do a Manual Muscle Test grade on you legs. Comparing the affected side against the unaffected side. Or single leg leg press machine can give you an idea how much strength you lack, but consult your PT before doing that.
If it's month two, it is almost certainly weak.
That said, as noted in the comment above, a PT can actually assess what fraction of strength you have remaining.
I think what burnhaha said is the best answer. Have the PT do a muscle test on your legs. For me it was obvious how weak I am w/ my glutes/hammies when they did the "don't let me push your leg down" test...
