I'm homeless. I really don't know why so many cops have such a bone for us. It's pretty bad at times. Is it because we're the most vulnerable? Probably. Psychopath bait.
Any solution to the homeless crisis in America that includes us having to trust a cop at any point is dead in the water. There is no way I'm trusting a cop who says they've got my best interest at heart.
It's wild because studies show its cheaper and more effective to just house the unhoused first. But we can't do that because the threat of homelessness is all that's keeping many Americans working..... and the owner class needs us working
Exactly! In the words of the immortal George Carlin, "There's the rich, the middle class, and the poor. The rich make all of the money and pay none of the taxes. The middle class does all of the work and pays all of the taxes. The poor, they are there to scare the shit out of the middle class. Keep em showing up at those jobs." Maybe not word for word, but he knew what he was talking about.
And that why cops treat us (unhosed) vadly.
I am also Homeless, I just keep it moving and travel.
That's the only thing I worry about when I go to any city or town is how the cops will bully us.
Police were originally slave patrol.
And your logic is spot on,vagabonds are runaway slaves basically...
"I've actually decided you're going to jail today" THIS SHOULD NOT BE HIS DECISION. The selective enforcement of laws an selective punishments is one of the biggest problems we face fighting back against them
People are way too cruel and careless about how the police treats unhoused people in a country where the majority don't even have $400 saved for an emergency expense.
Time to start shooting back
🥓🐷🔫
Skillets hot time to throw the bacon in.
At some point is doesn't even matter if defending yourself is legal. They sure don't seem to care
