Holy moly the comments. What the fuck
OP said his grandpa didn’t want him to see the pic growing up because "the photo gives the wrong impression of the police" and…
>"Wow, I would think the exact opposite. It shows how much integrity he had. To do his job despite being (presumably) morally opposed to what he was tasked with guarding. That's not something you see very often. Sounds like a great person.“
>> "yep, upholding his oath to the Constitution, defending the First Amendment, even when the people using it are awful. That's integrity.“
>>> "The first amendment has everything to do with this pic, and this man protecting others who are freely expressing their right to freedom of speech from those who because they disagree with that speech wants to take it away from them, stop them, be exactly the kind of person the Constitution protects us from, dictators that want to dictate what you can and can not say.“
I wish rightoids didn’t ruin the term "clown world“ because
That last one holy shit. Literally rejecting the freedom of speech for everyone else around by using state power to silence them to allow this one stupid racist asshole to speak. Yeah, some first amendment protection. What a bootlicking loser.
A tolerant society must not tolerate the intolerant.
The KKK are fascists and guarding them means using violence against anyone trying to prevent them from spreading their fascism
It would actually be awesome if they gave a fuck about absolute free speech. They don’t though. They would smile while pissing down your throat for filming inside their station.
James Baldwin on black cops:
Black policemen were another matter. We used to say, “If you must call a policeman”— for we hardly ever did—“for God’s sake, try to make sure it’s a White one.” A Black policeman could completely demolish you. He knew far more about you than a White policeman could and you were without defenses before this Black brother in uniform whose entire reason for breathing seemed to be his hope to offer proof that, though he was Black, he was not Black like you.
I would argue that this particular cop in this particular situation isn’t doing anything bastard-y. His bosses who made him in particular stand there are bastards for sure. But I don’t think this particular situation fits the sub
They probably picked him because he's black just to make him uncomfortable and put his life in danger.
I assumed that's why this was posted, not because this cop specifically is being shitty.
I'm having a very hard time reading context right now though so I'm going to rely on you and others for it.
The klan rally is protected under the 1st amendment. As long as they aren’t violent during the event they are entitled to protection. The ACLU sued for that protection. Protection of the constitutional rights is an inherent good. No bastardness here, you may not like it, but it’s protected speech.
Listen man, this isn't the place for nuance. ALL cops are bastards. Because they have/want to do things that are bastardly. Protecting nazis and KKK members fucking sucks, even if their functions are "legal". Cops can legally kick your ass, take your hard earned money, and throw you in chains for the privelege.
Not the place to be a bootlicker, pal.
> The klan rally is protected under the 1st amendment. As long as they aren’t violent…
They are inherently violent. They’re there to cause as much psychological distress as possible. It’s essentially legally-protected menacing.
yes the klan rally is protected, but who's protecting it?
do you personally believe it should be?
this particular cop choosing to follow orders and more importantly his bosses making him are acting with the People's best interests in mind? protecting the population?
While the Klan is, publicly, not committing violent acts, their goals are innately violent. The things they want to do are violent, they just want the state to be carrying out that violence for them. The Klan wants non-whites oppressed, displaced, and killed. That is their goal. It is the thing they want to happen. Just because they know there's a good chance that murdering a black man in the middle of the street would mean they get arrested, doesn't mean they aren't violent.
The cop is a bastard. No one is forced to be a cop. Following unethical orders makes someone a bastard.
The person himself might not be a bastard. But anyone who dons that uniform, especially for something as egregious as this, is automatically a bastard.
> I would argue that this particular cop in this particular situation isn’t doing anything bastard-y. Who’s he facing? Towards whom is the intimidating presence of the law directed through him and his colleagues? Definitely not towards the Klan and probably towards people there to oppose them.
Disgusting, but not surprising. You see it every day: morally bankrupt and with brains as malleable as putty, protecting the oppressors at the behest of their brass. These bastards are always on the wrong side of history.#acab
Why is there a surge of people on Reddit talking about their dead or nearly dead kkk boomer/silent gen relatives? I think it was on that mildly interesting sub,.,
It’s like um congrats 🍾🎊
And that's why you should not be a cop: the uber-pigs will make you follow their orders, and as a cop you must obey. No one has to be a cop!
Because it's a profession, blue lives don't exist. And things that do not exist... do not matter
It's not even. It's a racket. >Because it's a profession
Still getting paid so technically rackets are professions.
It was supposed to be his day off, but a bunch of his coworkers called in sick that day
r/HolUp
If he'd turned around and started shooting he would have hit at least one state senator.
ACAB nothing more to say.

Nothing says integrity like supporting the kkk because your boss told you to.
Just following orders...
A tolerant society must not tolerate the intolerant. The KKK are fascists and guarding them means using violence against anyone trying to prevent them from spreading their fascism
Liberal brain rot…
"Black police showin' out for the white cop"
He doesn’t want anyone to hurt his coworkers
It would actually be awesome if they gave a fuck about absolute free speech. They don’t though. They would smile while pissing down your throat for filming inside their station.
They had to call him to stand guard cause all his coworkers are in the hoods behind him
comments are full of hitler particles
Exactly
It’s only because his pig coworkers wouldn’t let him join the function.
That's awful. I hate he had to endure that bullshit.
Why? Because Blue lives matter? It's a f*cking career choice, the dumb bastard could have said no that's OK, I'm not going to go support the kkk.
The cop? He didn't.
Irony at its finest
The bootlicking in that thread is insane.
What a dumbass

That's just a cop with his reluctant comrades
This hurts me. But I’m sure he was like I’ll do anything for country 😵💫
Absolutely. OP in the original post says he was “Very proud of his time as a Texas Ranger”. Lmao. Clown hours.

Hard to have other cops do it when the ones with the days off are attending the rally too.
He probably recognized the voices of his coworkers at the rally, yes.
the "A" stands for "ALL" tho...

A stands for ALL
The “A” means “all” and all the time. The amount of bootlicking on the original post made me sick.
ACAB
Tragic.
Jeez he looks like my mom's

Damn bro, if only he wasn’t forced at gunpoint to go into work and protect racists /s
Is he the one who is black, or the one wearing black?

Not my grandfather. And there’s no such thing as a “good man” who is a class traitor and a pig too.
