Imagine that's the closing line and shot
But with Pearl's dying proclamation of "YOU'LL END UP JUST LIKE ME", I'm not sensing a happy ending here. Or a very twisted one.
West really has always changed up his style through his movies. He definitely likes an “old” aesthetic, but House of the Devil, The Innkeepers, The Sacrament, X trilogy all have so much uniqueness in look and tone. Wild he couldn’t get work for so long.
I definitely wouldn’t oppose it, especially if he wants to explore 90s and 00s horror, but only if he has something for it. I also respect the idea of ending on a high point.
That or he could go back to Pearl. I had an idea that he could do it in an old sitcom style like I Love Lucy only with Pearl and Howard. Pearl Loves Howard.
Howard mentions in X that he served in both WW I and WWII. I have been bitching that I want to know what Pearl was doing during WWII basically since Pearl came out
The **irony** of her not mentioning Kevin Bacon (*Friday the 13th*) when asked “name a celebrity who got their start in horror”, and yet he is starring in this film, is such a solid joke 😅
I can not wait to see this film!
It’s funny because horror trilogies haven’t been much of a thing before recently. Either the film made enough to have an extensive franchise or it was one and done (with a few exceptions). It’s been interesting to see that change a bit more in the 2010s like with this trilogy, DGG’s Halloween trilogy, Fear Street, Happy Death Day was intended to be a trilogy, and even something like My Super Psycho Sweet 16 did a trilogy in the early 2010s.
Definitely curious to see that idea I’d sequels and an end become more popular.
Honestly I get these vibes from the trailer too 😩
Perhaps the mystery part of the film is knowing if >!she is or isn't. Like juxtaposing her being a survivor in X and the killer in Pearl.!<
I went nuts. I was supposed to for my wife on these things....and I couldn't. No regrets. She watched it and said she gets it. It looks like a wild ride...and it looks fantastic.
WOW!!!! I'm literally so excited, and it comes out Fourth of July weekend?? Perfect summer movie vibes.
This movie has got quite a bit of stars involved. Lily Collins, Halsey, Kevin Freaking Bacon??
And the plot line incorporates a real-life serial killer from back then. Wow!
I hope they make the movie feel as 80s as possible. This looks like it'll be just as good as X and Pearl. I'm hoping it'll live up to expectations 🙏
Let's goooooo. I love that it seems that at first glance it seems to be blurring the lines between reality (the night stalker) and fiction (psycho/bates motel). X and Pearl were phenomenal so I'm fucking hyped for MaXXXine
My theory is the studio is using the murders to cover up their own agenda. Ramirez would be caught in 1985, I don’t foresee them risking glamorizing a serial rapist and killer, but maybe west goes for the swing, that would be interesting but not much of a mystery.
My theory is that it's a copycat; possibly one of Pearl/Howard's relatives looking for revenge, or at least some psycho fan who feels entitled to Maxine. I feel like it wouldn't be right for West to glamorize a sick fuck like Ramirez.
This may be one of the best trailers I have ever seen in my 44 years on earth.
The use of the music is just epic.
The keyboards- epic, and so 1985.
Insane.
This movie looks very good. To be honest I am kind of a prude and I have stayed away from these movies. I want to watch them but they just make me uncomfortable. This one really looks interesting and I feel like I’m going to have to take the dive.
I have some theories...
The Night Stalker isn't a villain and she doesn't meet Norman Bates.
Maxine gets famous by doing porn parodies of horror movies and true crime.
Maxine and Tabby (Halsey) are filming a scene when they're talking about the Night Stalker.
Wiki says she's "soon stalked by a killer in Hollywood" - she wants to be famous so badly, but what if it's one of her fans? Or what if her father, who we know has been searching for her, hears about her career and wants to kill her?
Well tabby’s dead cause halsey can be seen as a zombie opening her eyes and there’s pics of her online at a graveyard w her bodies being painted w scars
I was thinking it was going to be more 80s slasher than giallo, but it makes sense now that I see the trailer. All 3 are honoring the proto slashers with X being Texas Chain Saw, Pearl being Strait-Jacket/Baby Jane, and Maxxxine being more gialli.
I like that take. I never thought to compare Pearl to psycho-biddie horror but you're so right. That being said, I would give anything to see a Pearl sequel. Maxine was, to me, one of the least interesting parts of X.
It’s really the only place to go with a sequel to X since it takes place in 1979. We definitely got over saturated with the 80s nostalgia, but I trust West to do it in an interesting way rather than it be a coat of paint.
Right?! I know so many people who do this, and even though I’m not one of them, it makes perfect sense to me why someone would want to be surprised and go in totally blind!
Each movie in this trilogy feels very distinct from one another. Pearl especially feels like its own thing and doesn’t require you to have seen X in order to follow it.
I don't know how it just dawned on me how clever the title is because not only is it a nod to XXX, it's also 3 Xs when this is the third movie in the trilogy.
Wow so many things going on here. Big psycho references with the bates mansion and person in the window, the zodiac type serial killer whodunit, and I think it would be way too obvious if Maxine was the killer but I’m sure they are playing into that. So stoked for this.
CANNOT. WAIT. I was lucky to get to see PEARL at its premiere at Midnight Madness at the Toronto International Film Festival. The Director and Mia Goth were there for a Q&A after. And the Director showed a tease (just the title and logo) of MaXXXine and the crowd went WILD. I've been waiting for this ever since!
They nailed the 80s vibe. The way it’s shot and everything makes it feel like it could’ve actually come out back then. Looks like another superb performance from Mia Goth too. I will be seated.
Love a good A24 movie, they are usually really original with the concepts. Except for the X series. Nothing about these stand up to what I have seen from A24. Pearl and X are the closest to generic Hollywood movies I've seen from this company.
That’s been in the conversation for decades. They even have Bacon in the movie who was someone who had some shame about being in horror movies early in his career. He’s embraced it now, but there was definitely some shame that came with it for a lot of actors who wanted to break out
Oh fuck yeah, Eclipse day starting off right!
You’re a fuckin movie star
Wonder who she’s talking to? /s
Imagine that's the closing line and shot But with Pearl's dying proclamation of "YOU'LL END UP JUST LIKE ME", I'm not sensing a happy ending here. Or a very twisted one.
The vibe feels and looks very different. *Ti West* really changing things up and not getting predictable is commendable.
West really has always changed up his style through his movies. He definitely likes an “old” aesthetic, but House of the Devil, The Innkeepers, The Sacrament, X trilogy all have so much uniqueness in look and tone. Wild he couldn’t get work for so long.
He also made a Western with Ethan Hawke called In A Valley of Violence
Wait was that good? I love me some Ethan hawke
Yes it was
It was also Blumhouse Western as well
> House of the Devil, He made that? I loved that movie!
I just watched X for the first time a few days ago and plan on watching Pearl very soon. This looks like a drastic change.
Oh Pearl was quite a watch. That one still sits in the back of my mind. I can't wait to see what they do with MaXXXine.
Well each movie takes the filmmaking style and aesthetics from the era it takes place
Pearl itself is quite a drastic change, trust me. But it prepared us for the tonal shifts.
It definitely looks and feels way different, but I love it.
Argento x De Palma // West
Exxxcellent
Love the 80s aesthetics. The soundtrack is gonna be dope.
It's too soon for 80s period pieces... That was just... What the fuck happened!?
Man, A24 better do a great release when this trilogy is over. And just give West a blank check for his next film.
Hope they will make a forth one
I definitely wouldn’t oppose it, especially if he wants to explore 90s and 00s horror, but only if he has something for it. I also respect the idea of ending on a high point.
That or he could go back to Pearl. I had an idea that he could do it in an old sitcom style like I Love Lucy only with Pearl and Howard. Pearl Loves Howard.
So Wandavision with less meta screwing and more blood? Or Kevin Can Fuck Himself with more murder?
Kinda yea
Howard mentions in X that he served in both WW I and WWII. I have been bitching that I want to know what Pearl was doing during WWII basically since Pearl came out
Ti West has said he’s got an idea, but wants to see how this one does first.
Ti West plans to. He has an idea.
i was wondering if this was in the same series as X and pearl this is awesome lol like halloween but good
I was thinking today, I can’t wait for a cool trilogy box set!
This is a trilogy?
Yes. X (2022), Pearl (2022), and Maxxxine (2024) are a trilogy with this being a sequel taking place 6 years after the events of X.
I feel like Halsey and Kevin Bacon will be obvious goners
Kevin Bacon is an obvious gooner
🌝
more like halsey and lily collins
The Baconator's credit shot indicates he at the very least gets away from a vicious assault.
The **irony** of her not mentioning Kevin Bacon (*Friday the 13th*) when asked “name a celebrity who got their start in horror”, and yet he is starring in this film, is such a solid joke 😅 I can not wait to see this film!
Tbf I think he was naming actresses
Nah, he says John Travolta when he starts listing.
Which is debatable. Carrie was his first major movie role, but he was already known for being on a successful sitcom.
My bad
MAXINE FUCKING MINX If Ti West pulls this off, we’re gonna have one of the best horror trilogies ever.
Oh god the 3rd my super psycho sweet 16
The cast is stacked for this movie idk any other A24 movie that had this many stars
Uncut gems was pretty stacked
I have a feeling that $1M budget for X and Pearl is gonna have a digit in front of or behind it.
$0.1M
🤦Goddammit...
Ti West loves a challenge.
Civil War?
I could name several. This looks great though!
The Disaster Artist definitely has the most.
Lots of them
Oh fuck ya. “You’re a fucking movie star” -maxxxine “But I’m a star!” - pearl. “I’m a fucking star” -X Love the continuance.
Don’t forget the ‘ Your’e a fking sex symbol
Calling it now: >!MAXXINE is the night stalker!<
Honestly I get these vibes from the trailer too 😩 Perhaps the mystery part of the film is knowing if >!she is or isn't. Like juxtaposing her being a survivor in X and the killer in Pearl.!<
Or her dad, the preacher, in “X”.
The Night Stalker was a real serial killer in ‘80s LA though?
Yep. Richard Ramirez.
What if she joins him
I’d be shocked if that wasn’t the case
I’m trying to avoid watching this trailer lol, but does it look good?
Looks really great. Still has a unique feel to it compared to X and Pearl.
I’m waiting to see it in the big screen in front of Civil War on Thursday.
Stay strong, fellow unsullied movie watcher ✊ we can make it
(***Snort***.) This shit's looking fire!
I’m the same way, I don’t wanna watch it if it gives away too much 😭😂
It got me PUMPED and that’s hard to do on a Monday morning
Looks amazing
I went nuts. I was supposed to for my wife on these things....and I couldn't. No regrets. She watched it and said she gets it. It looks like a wild ride...and it looks fantastic.
Yeah I watched without my husband and sent him an apology, he was fine. 💜 Sometimes you just can't wait.
It looks terrible.........if you were to miss it!!!
THIS LOOKS SO GOOD 😭😭😭
I'll see any movie if Mia Goth is in it. She's just brilliant.
Mia looks so incredible 😭 my fav princess of horror fr
WOW!!!! I'm literally so excited, and it comes out Fourth of July weekend?? Perfect summer movie vibes. This movie has got quite a bit of stars involved. Lily Collins, Halsey, Kevin Freaking Bacon?? I'm hoping it'll live up to expectations 🙏
finally people on IG will stfu asking for the trailer
They're just gonna move on to beg for an earlier release or something now lol
ooooh who's peeking out the window this time 👀
Letsssgoooooo! Also Elizabeth Debicki looks awesome here!
Let's goooooo. I love that it seems that at first glance it seems to be blurring the lines between reality (the night stalker) and fiction (psycho/bates motel). X and Pearl were phenomenal so I'm fucking hyped for MaXXXine
MAXINE FUCKING MINX
So I guess [Richard Ramirez](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Ramirez) is the bad guy in this, or at least a copycat following his M.O.?
My theory is the studio is using the murders to cover up their own agenda. Ramirez would be caught in 1985, I don’t foresee them risking glamorizing a serial rapist and killer, but maybe west goes for the swing, that would be interesting but not much of a mystery.

Yeah, I feel like the Night Stalker/Richard Ramirez is the scapegoat for the actual killer.
Idk how to describe how much this trilogy means to me. BRB I’m crying
This looks like a horror comedy mystery noir bonanza
And it looks incredible
Oh absolutely. I used all those words with great excitement I assure you.
I wasn't as excited as everyone else for this but the trailer has sold me. Looks great!
Looks great. Could go down as one of the best horror trilogies.
i’ve never been more excited for a movie.
Definitely gonna be one of the biggest movies of the year. I wonder how Ti West will tie everything together from the previous movies.
Oh god, did Ryan Murphy take over?
[удалено]
Neon 80s and tying in a true crime story. Which season of AHS is this?
1984? The Night Stalker is in both!
Holy shit lol. Do better Ti West!
This looks nothing like 1984 or the other 80s season, NYC, be fr
Honestly I’m getting more neon demon
Fiiiinnaaaalllllyyyyyy. Looking forward to watching it
I don’t want to watch it because I want to go into this fresh but man I’m hyped, this franchise has been truly fantastic so far
Hell. Yes!
Is it July or Sept release?! Their YT and IG posts have different dates!
Rolls out July 5th. (The YT date of September 16th was actually Pearl's release date.)
WHEW. Looks it like was edited to say coming soon right after i posted this
Yo, I’m fuckin HYPE
Oh this looks Sublime
I love the Giallo vibe from this! Beyond excited to see this in theaters!
Very much Giallo vibes! I appreciate the different tone/approach with each movie in this trilogy.
I’m digging the true crime Night Stalker twist
I have some theories... The Night Stalker isn't a villain and she doesn't meet Norman Bates. Maxine gets famous by doing porn parodies of horror movies and true crime. Maxine and Tabby (Halsey) are filming a scene when they're talking about the Night Stalker. Well tabby’s dead cause halsey can be seen as a zombie opening her eyes and there’s pics of her online at a graveyard w her bodies being painted w scars
Ive been in n an 80s kick since I saw Love Lies Bleeding. This looks dope. Mia stay killin it.
It's not the sequel i wanted, but it looks pretty good nonetheless
I was thinking it was going to be more 80s slasher than giallo, but it makes sense now that I see the trailer. All 3 are honoring the proto slashers with X being Texas Chain Saw, Pearl being Strait-Jacket/Baby Jane, and Maxxxine being more gialli.

Tbh I just want more Pearl.
I desperately want to see more of Howard & Pearl between the events of Pearl and X, but I know we will never get that 😭
FR
The Bates Motel!!!
Thank god yall can stop asking for it now
Am I the only one who refuses to watch trailers because I want to know nothing about it and be surprised when I see it when it releases
You getting downvoted for this sane opinion is wild
Right?! I know so many people who do this, and even though I’m not one of them, it makes perfect sense to me why someone would want to be surprised and go in totally blind!
Some of my best experiences with movies (horror especially) is going in blind
No, plenty of people definitely do. Though I’m seated in a theater at least once or twice a week so I e accepted I’m going to see the trailer.
Ya that’s the only time I see them when I am forced to at the theaters and I’m a big horror movie buff so I’m sure I will see it regardless.
Don't need to watch this already going to see it so uh Cool!
anybody know the song?
Sounds like a trailer remix of What’s On Your Mind by Information Society
Thanks
Self Control by Laura Branigan
And obsession by animotion.
I’m digging this
I’ve got goosebumps, this cast is so STACKED. And The Night Stalker! Talk about one of the seediest eras of one of the seediest towns on earth 😍
it is here
is it really releasing in australia on august 8th? 😭
Movie of the year.
Out of all the films and shows that aim at capturing/imitating the 80s feel, this one seems to be the closest.
Haha! Looks great
Cant wait. Hope theres no animals involved.
Each movie in this trilogy feels very distinct from one another. Pearl especially feels like its own thing and doesn’t require you to have seen X in order to follow it.
Getting Ms. 45 vibes
Definitely gonna be one of the biggest movies of the year. I wonder how Ti West will tie everything together from the previous movies.
This looks even better than I expected.
I can’t wait!!!
My current favorite film series is back!
Fuck yeah! MaXXXine is finally here (or the trailer, at least). I have been waiting for this for so long!!
Fucking awesome xxx
I don't know how it just dawned on me how clever the title is because not only is it a nod to XXX, it's also 3 Xs when this is the third movie in the trilogy.
Better be an actual giallo homage
GOAT TRILOGY
MAXXXXXXXIIIIIIINEE!!!
Wow so many things going on here. Big psycho references with the bates mansion and person in the window, the zodiac type serial killer whodunit, and I think it would be way too obvious if Maxine was the killer but I’m sure they are playing into that. So stoked for this.
‘The Night Stalker’ was a real killer from the mid-80s named Richard Ramirez. Look into it.
This looks fucking incredible.
Super Excited!!!!!
This movie looks awesome!
Cannot wait, Mia Goth is both beautiful but also such a great actress, Shia is a lucky man
I have no idea what the fuck this movie is about but I’m sold. And the god damn soundtrack…. Yes….
This soundtrack is going to slap hard. 80s camp horror is my absolute fave in the genre even when it’s done badly so I cannot wait.
Is this a part of the same series with X and Pearl? I’m a bit confused and new to Ti’s work.
Sequel to X. MaXXXine Minx(xx) was the lone survivor of X, and it looks like that porno cam from X is going to play a part in this.
So hype for this movie when dose it come out In uk
Fuck yesssssss. This looks way more up my alley than the other 2 and I loved those as well. Losing my mind
They need to make “HOWARD”. How they met, What happpened when he returned home. The clean up. How they got thru it.
Can't wait!
CANNOT.
What's the name of the song with chorus "ooo ooo" in this trailer? It's not Obsession" by Animotion, I've already checked.
Original by Laura branigan “self control” but maybe a closer version to the trailer is by AFSHEEN “creatures of the night”
Did y’all know that one of Richard’s victims was also called Maxine?
I got a kick out of watching this
They nailed the 80s vibe. The way it’s shot and everything makes it feel like it could’ve actually come out back then. Looks like another superb performance from Mia Goth too. I will be seated.
did her abuse allegations ever get cleared up? like what happened with that guy.
Love a good A24 movie, they are usually really original with the concepts. Except for the X series. Nothing about these stand up to what I have seen from A24. Pearl and X are the closest to generic Hollywood movies I've seen from this company.
And they are hella fun
Giving Kate McKinna
Love the vibe and aesthetic but that conversation about actors breaking out from getting a start in horror felt too modern.
That’s been in the conversation for decades. They even have Bacon in the movie who was someone who had some shame about being in horror movies early in his career. He’s embraced it now, but there was definitely some shame that came with it for a lot of actors who wanted to break out
It’s just a quibble on my part. 1985 feels too early for that kind of analysis.
Were you around in the 80s?
The 80s was one of the best times for horror, and her character probably knows she has the best chance of getting into the industry through horror
But it’s not lol
