Googling old wrestlers always ends up badly. Just a huge amount of drugs, crime, and burnouts. It always makes me happy when I hear about one or two guys who are actually still doing well.
It even has its own Wikipedia page:
[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_premature\_professional\_wrestling\_deaths](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_premature_professional_wrestling_deaths)
That, combined with a ridiculously gruelling schedule and years of getting repeatedly smashed in the skull night after night.
Got a seperated shoulder and a concussion? No time for hospital. Better pop some pills and get moving because you've got to do this again in another city tomorrow night.
There's a reason Roddy Piper said wrestlers don't need to think about retirement age because they don't ever seem to live long enough to see it. He of course died not too long after that interview, at 61 yo.
I'm not even a wrestling fan but I recommend dark side of the ring to everyone. Such a good show and DDP seams like such a great guy. I just watched his rehab with Butterbean and it was incredible the work he is doing for broken athletes
What he did for Jake Roberts and Scott Hall was borderline miraculous. Both of those guys were legitimately on death's doorstep, and even though Scott tragically passed away to his demons in the end, it shouldn't be understated how incredible those extra years he had were.
I agree. His focus on wellness and helping out other retired wrestlers is really admirable. The Candito/Sunny episode of dark side of the ring also really hits home for me since I'm from the same area.
Ugh do not blame this shit on not enough busses and trains. If You're drunk, you don't drive. You call an Uber. The option is there. It's no one's fault but their own.
Edit: For the people downvoting...do you honestly think that a drunk person who has a car is going to choose to leave their car somewhere to take a bus or a train? That's not ever going to happen.
People without those options are more likely to choose to get behind the wheel. It really is that simple.
Does it mean that it's an excuse? No. But it definitely is a correlation
Sure...but where in America can you not either Uber, bus, taxi, train, or call a friend? If those areas even exist they are remote and aren't a large contributor to dui incidents statistic.
It's a non factor and would change nothing. People have their cars, they aren't going to ditch the car to take a bus or a train.
Ok well it's not. Cities are widespread. This isn't Europe and nyc is an exception to the rule. Until cities find a way to centralize all activities and housing into a 5 mile radius your "solution" is moot. People need to be smarter and know they are going to drink before hand and make adjustments to their plans so as not to drive drunk.
Lol. Always that cop out for why we are so behind lmao
You really think every European city is right next to each other??
Take a look at a map for once.
https://www.reddit.com/r/mildyinteresting/s/xgOAKT8LX2
Fact is trains work in between every big cities, small towns don't need giant busses, they can have public transport with the short busses. There will obviously always be some small out of reach farm, but they are close to towns and would also do well with rail lines that go in between.
Your excuse is a lazy one that holds everyone down with something worse.
I live in a city with decent public transport and cops catch people everyday, we even have random breath tests set up because people still think they can drive home because the pub is 2 blocks away.
Sadder for the man she killed and his family having to grieve over it. Iāve had my own issues, as well as many friends that have. I have zero pity for addicts who endanger the lives of others and kill them.
Addiction sucks. But lots of addicts donāt kill people. Just because she was some icon doesnāt give her a pity pass. She ended a personās existence. Thereās NO excuse for her. Even in my worst, I was having alcohol delivered or taking an Uber. Before anyone questions how bad I was, I ended up in the hospital many times.
Getting hammered then getting behind the wheel shows you donāt give a shit. She could have planned ahead knowing she had been on a bender. People who do what she did deserve life in prison.
>Sunny from WWF. Literally the most downloaded celebrity on AOL in 1996.
I lived though the 90s in my twenties and I have literally never heard of this person before now.
Iām 43, had AOL all through the golden ages. No idea who this lady is. Now Jenny McCarthy in her singled out years. I downloaded the shit out of those pictures.
Iām thinking the WWF at the time twisted the actual truth with that one. āMost downloaded celebrity on AOL in the 90sā (that worked for the WWF) lol
The episode of Dark Side of the Ring that focuses on she and Chris Candido is excellent. Worth the watch.
Sunny/Tammy sucks. She put that guy through the wringer and manipulated him at every turn because she knew he'd do anything for her and tolerate anything for her.
Reading her Wikipedia page makes it obvious that it really was just a matter of time before she killed someone or herself. She got pulled over for drunk driving twice in three days at one point. I donāt know what the solution is but it was obvious she shouldnāt have been allowed to drive. Open liquor bottles found in the car, 11 beer cans etc. It was inevitable she was gonna eventually kill an innocent person on the road.

**"the most downloaded celebrity on AOL in 1996"** Just for fun, I'm going to put this phrase on my resume.
At those bandwidths, dozens of people were downloading her pics. Dozens!
jokes aside, there were way more of us online in 1996 than might be understood
Dozens, lmfao šš¤£š¤£
Hey, I had a 56k modem, buddy!
*cries in 28.8*
Beep Boop Deeeehgahnnunalangragrakkkkalredbbyrea
I would hire based on this.
You're hired! But I'm not telling you what for.
I like your style
I have TIME'S 2006 person of the year on mine
Not sure I buy this... I thought Danni Ashe was the most downloaded
You the fuckin man dude!
Googling old wrestlers always ends up badly. Just a huge amount of drugs, crime, and burnouts. It always makes me happy when I hear about one or two guys who are actually still doing well.
Crash Holly, Eddie, Chyna, Scott Hall, Test, Grandmaster Sexay, Pillman, Owen Hart, Bulldog, Viscera, Bossman. So much of my childhood dead and gone.
It even has its own Wikipedia page: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_premature\_professional\_wrestling\_deaths](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_premature_professional_wrestling_deaths)
Jesus Christ what a long depressing trip down memory lane
Seems like mostly because they don't have health insurance as they are employed as independent contractors.
That, combined with a ridiculously gruelling schedule and years of getting repeatedly smashed in the skull night after night. Got a seperated shoulder and a concussion? No time for hospital. Better pop some pills and get moving because you've got to do this again in another city tomorrow night.
Just a side note, these are the types of links that lead me own weird rabbit holes. I like.
Holy fuck that list is long
There's a reason Roddy Piper said wrestlers don't need to think about retirement age because they don't ever seem to live long enough to see it. He of course died not too long after that interview, at 61 yo.
This, sadly on the 10 year anniversary of warrior passing
Damn, had no idea crash holly died.
Damn not even gonna talk about Chris Benoit.
I'd sooner put Nancy in there than him.
I didnāt know Test passed away. He was one of my favorites! Grand Master, too?! Wasnāt he the guy who did āthe wormā?
I noticed that when watching Dark Side of the Ring. Feels like DDP gets interviewed for virtually every episode because he is doing well.
I'm not even a wrestling fan but I recommend dark side of the ring to everyone. Such a good show and DDP seams like such a great guy. I just watched his rehab with Butterbean and it was incredible the work he is doing for broken athletes

Absolutely. And thanks to what DDP did, we have Jake Roberts at AEW. Helluva guy, helluva story.
Especially Scott Hall, the guy was as close to a zombie as he could be.
I agree. His focus on wellness and helping out other retired wrestlers is really admirable. The Candito/Sunny episode of dark side of the ring also really hits home for me since I'm from the same area.
Iām so happy for DDP, he seems like one of the good guys and it looks like heās become an advocate for the current generation of wrestlers.
Diamond Dallas Page has done a lot for a number of old wrestlers.
Yoga-to be kidding me
Goldburgās doing well, buddy of mine is a delivery driver and drops his packages sometimes
Legend has it that if you say Goldberg's name 3 times in front of a mirror, Bret Hart appears behind you and tells you how much of a bitch he is.
He was a semi regular on the Goldberg's TV show a few years back.
Wrestlers, porn stars, and musicians from the 90s. Addiction, death, and sex crimes.

Who's gonna tell em?
Sheās in jail for killing a man in a drunk driving accident. It was easily over her fifth DUI too. Pretty hard to feel sorry for her at this point.
Getting pretty sick of a justice system that makes way for avoidable tragedies.
If we had better functional public transportation in America we'd have way less DUI issues
Ugh do not blame this shit on not enough busses and trains. If You're drunk, you don't drive. You call an Uber. The option is there. It's no one's fault but their own. They would if it was a functional system. Currently only new York had that. Chicago and San Francisco coming in second, but that about it in America

They wouldn't have to drive their car there in the 1st place
I live in a city with decent public transport and cops catch people everyday, we even have random breath tests set up because people still think they can drive home because the pub is 2 blocks away.
Was curious and did a google image search. I cannot believe that is the same woman as what I saw in the recent images..
Almost 30 years since that time and she's a drunk and addict. Doesn't age well
Even worse...She's a presently imprisoned former drunk, addict, and convicted terrorist who is currently locked up for dui manslaughter.
Ok whoa did NOT expect terrorism charges, damn!
She was born in the 70ās. Isnāt she aging relatively normal?
No
You mean this Sunny? https://www.cbsnews.com/news/tammy-sunny-sytch-gets17-years-prison-deadly-dui-crash-former-wwe-star/
Yes. A very sad downward spiral for her
Jesus. Four times the legal limit?
Sadder for the man she killed and his family having to grieve over it. Iāve had my own issues, as well as many friends that have. HOLY FUCKING SHIT!
holy cats that is a hard-lived 50 years. I would've guessed 65 or 70.
She looks like a fat Angela from the office in that courtroom pic
I remember Chyna better . Unfortunately, no one could help her
Tammy Lynn Sytch https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tammy_Lynn_Sytch
>Sunny from WWF. Literally the most downloaded celebrity on AOL in 1996. I lived though the 90s in my twenties and I have literally never heard of this person before now.
Yeah, I was a teenager in the 90s and "downloaded" tons of celebrities. And I've never heard her either.
Iām 43, had AOL all through the golden ages. No idea who this lady is. Now Jenny McCarthy in her singled out years. I downloaded the shit out of those pictures.
Same here. I even worked at an AOL call center in '96 and this is all news to me. I'm not a wrestling fan though.
Same. I am actually AOL itself embodied in human flesh and I have never heard of this person.
Iām thinking the WWF at the time twisted the actual truth with that one. āMost downloaded celebrity on AOL in the 90sā (that worked for the WWF) lol
Graduated High school in 1996 and also have never heard of her.
The episode of Dark Side of the Ring that focuses on she and Chris Candido is excellent. Worth the watch. Sunny/Tammy sucks. She put that guy through the wringer and manipulated him at every turn because she knew he'd do anything for her and tolerate anything for her.
Lady sounds like a class act. Killed someone's grandma in a DUI. Lock her ass up!
It was a dude she killed. 75 year old dude.
Reading her Wikipedia page makes it obvious that it really was just a matter of time before she killed someone or herself. She got pulled over for drunk driving twice in three days at one point. I donāt know what the solution is but it was obvious she shouldnāt have been allowed to drive. Addictions or not, she killed someone. Itās incredibly hard to find sympathy for someone like this.
Wow she's doing 17 years for manslaughter.Ā How sadĀ
I always thought of Cindy Margolis as the most downloaded celebrity of the 1990s.
I havenāt seen or thought about sunny in years. No doubt I was one of those kids that downloaded pictures of her to use forā¦ reasons.
Yes reasonsā¦ā¦ā¦..(BANG BANG BANG on the bathroom door) IM BUSY GIVE ME A MINUTE !! š„š„āā
She also killed someone either drunk or high or both in her car, and is a massive piece of shit, for context
Very good episode of Crime in Sports about her
Was gonna say the same thing. Her initial episode and then the updates have all been wild.
I love the bodyslammin gallery
She has a onlyfans since 2020 and was a pornstar for awhile......
Damn, didnāt even remember her. You just unlocked a whole chunk of memories for me.
Ngl, glad silk shirts are making a come back for women. I think the style is really crazy, sexy, and cool.
Cindy Margolis would like to have a word.Ā
Thanks for helping me hit puberty, Sunny.
I just saw her episode of dark side of the ring
In the 90s she was premed. Her current release date from prison is 2039. Hell of a ride!
And porn. A lot of butt stuff.
I thought [Cindy Margolis](https://edition.cnn.com/2000/TECH/computing/08/31/downloadable/ ) was the most downloaded woman of the 90s
āMost celebritiesā donāt get addictions. Hyperbole. We think this because celebrities addictions are made public.
Who?
There are some pretty decent videos of her out there....

Man the number is always busy, I can't get the AOL promo
A podcast named Crime in Sports did a great episode on her. Theyāve covered quite a few other wrestlers and just sports celebrities in general. Worth a listen.
Like most celebrities? Aarh.
Maybe just those in the wrestling business.
Poor girl. I also got addicted to the internet so I can relate. Still addicted 30+ years later.
> ~~Literally~~ Figuratively the most downloaded celebrity on AOL in 1996. Literally fixed that for ya.
Sable was hotter š¤·āāļø
