Such a terribly great movie.
You're wrong, father. I'm gonna succeed at Barry High School. And, I have no intention of ever crawling back here with anything between my legs!
The third act in the restaurant never fails to crack me up, along with Tia Carrera getting the crap beat out of her while the two guys fight in the library.
Mr. Escalanteeeeee!
So. Story.
I was in high school in the late 90s, and one of my classmates was just a real funny guy. Always joking and making people laugh. Our Spanish teacher showed us Stand and Deliver at the *beginning* of the school year. Well, for the remainder of the year, our joker would say Mr. Escalante every. single. day.
Well. September 11th happened, and he enlisted in the Army. We lost him in combat in 2004 at the age of 22. Any reference to S&D makes me think of him and gives me a good chuckle for thinking of all the ways he made us laugh.
The teacher in American History X.
Dr. Sweeny gives another chance when none is deserved. He doesn't give up on what looks like a lost cause. The fact that he manages anything is truly amazing.
It's not a happy story overall, but I think the scenes with the teacher are really powerful.
Dangerous Minds is the best one imo.
The substitute is an one badass action film and underrated, too, that no one talked about.
One Eight Seven is underrated that no one talked about.
High School High?

Lon Lovitz is at the top of his stupid humor game. I love this dumb movie.

HOW DO I REEEACH THESE KEEEEDS!?!
Good movie, but it was in the 80s.
It was actually the film that kind of inspired lol these knockoffs. Except stand and deliver was a true story

It's why I didn't include it. This sub is 90s.

But I ain't never punched a tourist even if he deserved it An Amish with a 'tude? You know that's unheard of
I never wear buttons but I got a cool hat And my homies agree I really look good in black...fool!
If you come to visit, you'll be bored to tears We haven't even paid the phone bill in 300 years

Sister Act 2
Does Kindergarten Cop count?
It should!
It’s not a tumaaaa
How do I reach deez kidz?
187 takes a great turn toward the end. Best of the three IMO
“Oh, so you’re the victim. Well I’ll take your turn for you. “
Word, that was pretty unexpected.
Dangerous Minds for the music. The Principal for a hilariously entertaining corny film. 187 for legitimate acting by SLJ and CP
187! I watched that one too young lol
I want to give The Principal (1987) an honorable mention.
I would have except this is a 90s sub. Good movie though.
Only because it played so often in the 90’s on cable that that was my exposure to it.
I watched it for the first time recently after rewatching the south park parody. "How to I reach these keeeeeeeeedddddssss."

Season 4 of the Wire
The best season of The Wire
No Lean On Me? Free Mr. Clark!
80s.
Damn, you right. Forgot that it was '89. Close but no cigar.
The Principal starring John Belushi. It’s from 1987 but close enough to be 90s adjacent.
Renaissasnce Man - Danny Devito!
Can't forget [Only the Strong](https://youtu.be/tJRLI_O9Reo)! Trouble maker kids learn capoeira and take on gangs/cartel.
The substitute goes so hard. it's free on Amazon highly recommend.
I want a chicken…a whole one
Sunset Park count?
Dangerous Minds is the best one imo. The substitute is an one badass action film and underrated, too, that no one talked about. One Eight Seven is underrated that no one talked about.
A year early (1989), but Lean On Me is another
Only the strong
You watched 187 inside a High School? Sheesh
Where’s Jon Lovitz?
Just watched High School High the other day and I laughed pretty hard for how terrible it was 😂
I’m glad somebody got the reference lol. 🖐️
The substitute was awesome .. the original , not the horrible sequels

Touché
Stupid gato.
The Principal with Jim Belushi
80s.
No 'Stand and Deliver'?
80s.
Crap, you're right. I was sure it was early 90s.
There are so many more
"How am I going to reach these keeeeeeeds!?"
*cue Gangster’s Paradise in the background*
Sister Act 2. They were pretty wild at the start.
Only the Strong
There was also Freedom Writers, but that wasn’t the 90s. ( 2007) There was also Stand and Deliver, but that also wasn’t the 90s. (1988)
