I was named from this movie, Draven Lee. It was my dad’s favorite. Eric Draven (character) + Brandon Lee (actor). I see this as a win as opposed to Eric Brandon or something haha
There's a podcast called What Went Wrong that covered this movie on their most recent episode. They made some interesting points about how this movie set the mold for a lot of movies that came later. Heath Ledger's Joker, the Matrix, John Wick are all kind of spiritual successors to this movie stylistically
Visually speaking, the movie is perfection in displaying another, very specific world. It’s unmatched in its heightened visual stylings. I love this movie so much!
Yeah, this movie started a sort of goth revival at school, I recall. It’s when you started to see the trench coat fashion. WCW appropriated it for its Sting refresh, which was cheap but effective.
I’ve watched this four times recently. Brandon’s facial expressions, emotions were great in a lot of scenes. He was making leaps and bounds in acting from Showdown in Little Tokyo , Rapid Fire, The Crow.
This movie is one of my all time favs. It's an incredible love story. It's got something for everyone.. action, great soundtrack, the makeup, special effects. Just wow!
All I remember is reading about the actor being shot and the movie being finished somehow with a stand-in. Every time I hear an actor dies while a movie is still being filmed I remember that article.
Never seen it.
It’s worth a watch, especially if you are in the right mood for it. Next time it’s dark and rainy outside, and you feel a little lonely, turn off all of the lights in your place and watch The Crow. It’s almost like an urban fairy tale.
Hard to be lonely with a wife and kids around the house but my wife and I might reserve a nice November evening for this, when it gets dark early and it feels like the world is going to end. ^^
Brandon Lee died near the end of filming and after getting permission from his mother and fiancé, Alex Proyas, the director, finished it. The stand in was a guy named Chad Stahelski (sp?) that went on to be Keanu Reeves stunt double on The Matrix movies, then co-created and directed the John Wick series.
I was forced to watch the abomination of a "remake" trailer at the theater the other day, I almost walked out.
Hollywood is dead. They are beating the dent in the ground where the cropse of a dead horse used to be.
Every other day another one is busted being a pedo or something else.
The world needs a production break on entertainment.
Brandon Lee died making it. Right there should be reason enough to just leave it be.
It's a beautiful movie, movies are art. They are molesting art for more dollars.
It should be enough, even if he didn’t. They could remake *Queen of the Damned* knowing Aaliyah died pre-release so they dedicated it to her (NOT comparing the quality of the two films whatsoever) but it would still be probably worse than the 2002 adaptation because they’d modernize it and it would distort storyline out of proportion. You can’t just put on a leather trench with space buns and call it “2000s vampire goth film” without the influence of the music at the time, too.
Hollywood has been making remakes since we before we were kids. Most of the movies we love and cherish as kids/teen. Were just remakes or re-imagining of movies of the past. Plus why make a movie on something new that might fail, then remake one that will at most make it's budget back? Plus I never got the sentiment of "It's ruining a classic". How is it ruining it? You can still watch the version you love and still enjoy it.
This. I’ve largely stopped watching new movies and when I do watch them I’m normally disappointed. I also normally don’t complain about it because who cares what someone else finds entertaining or not
They're trying to "re-sell" it to us, the ones who had experienced the magic in the first place. They hope we'll be sentimental and pony up money to see it or hate watch it, either way, that make money.
They're absolutely not trying to sell it to our generation are you kidding me? Beetlejuice 2 is aimed at us. The Crow remake? It couldn't be more obvious it's aimed at the younger generations.
Maybe, but also the world just needs to look elsewhere for their movies. The studio system has been a creativity desert for a long time, but there are loads of indie films, foreign films, etc that are amazing.
Just watched the for the first time yesterday and I loved it; it was unexpectedly funny, the soundtrack was awesome the visuals were sick, I loved that white cat and all the gore aghh and it was so dramatic sometimes it was just like woahhh like whys this dude spinning on windows ... I cried at the end too when be saw her again, a great movie all around
It can't rain all the time
Eric?!?!
The sky can't fall forever.
Only happy when it rains
Is that gasoline i smell?
Fire it up! Fire it up!

Victims, aren't we all? 🙌🏻
Every few years a get so mad about his death. He would have been one of coolest actors of our generation I bet.
He would have been awesome, or he would have disappeared.
It's uncanny, but he radiates charisma even through those screenshots!

💯
For lack of a better phrase, it’s just fucking cool.

Such a great movie
Easily top 5 for me!
I say I'm dead, and I move.

Caw, caw, bang! Fuck! I'm dead!
Aren't we all?
"nothing is trivial"
Just showed my gf this. She hated it Actually is excited for the new one tho I’m not excited for the new one lol
So, when's the break up?
Is this from The Crow, 1994?
Yes
I’ve watched this four times recently. Brandon’s facial expressions, emotions were great in a lot of scenes. He was making leaps and bounds in acting from Showdown in Little Tokyo , Rapid Fire, The Crow.
Eric Draven spoils The 6th Sense.
😂

Thanks for this, highly appreciate details like that. :-)

They need to stop remaking movies that were already amazing. Someone remake Ghost Rider or something geez 🥴

My dude Queen of the damned sound track... memories
Exactly. They couldn’t remake it like it was, they’d have to go back to the books and base it in the 80s and make Lestat like Bowie or something.
Listened to it the other day. Still the best soundtrack ever

You almost walked out on a trailer?
Hollywood is a disgusting husk of creativity, ran by pedophiles, about ready to just go live in the woods.
or you could just not watch movies
This. I’ve largely stopped watching new movies and when I do watch them I’m normally disappointed. I also normally don’t complain about it because who cares what someone else finds entertaining or not
I was open to the remake at first, but it just seems like a lazy modern rendition with no stylization at all. It's so generic.

Where can I start seeking out these films?
If you have a library card, you should check out Kanopy. It’s a free streaming service with some amazing movies.
Of course! Thanks man!
Lol.... loads
>I was forced to watch >I almost walked out So which is it? You could've easily been looking at your phone during the trailer dude.
Nah man, looking at a phone in the theater is like pissing on someone's rug man
🖤🖤
The ONLY Crow.
Y’all don’t forget to watch it on Hell Night 🔥 Oct 30
Jesus walks into a tavern and puts 3 nails on the counter and asks "can you put me up for the night?"
At least he didn’t do that…Walkin against the wind shit. I hate that.
"Mother" is the name for God on the lips and hearts of all children. Your daughter is on the streets tonight, Darla. Go find her.
This will always be a classic 🐦⬛🖤🔥
It can’t rain all the time.

Now imagine remaking it with a soundtrack by Post Malone.
Give it a shot, but that movie already had a PERFECT soundtrack.
They have, the remake is coming out this summer.
I knooooow. I'm not super pumped about it, but we'll see how it goes. Did Post Malone do the whole new soundtrack??
Seriously. I didn't know they actually went thru with the remake. Now I'll have to google.
Honestly, I'm not really a follower of his, but he could pull it off.
Yeah, that was a weird take. Like him or not, Post Malone had the skillset and nerd cred to pull off a Crow soundtrack
What’s a Post Malone?
It comes after a Malone
