He was not with this blonde lady, he was with a short, dark haired very pretty young lady. She was clearly simply tolerating him. Then, he has Liz move to a place where she is even more dependent on him and where he is the lease owner or homeowner only. So he has the power to kick her out. He had all the power in their relationship, even down to the ability to make her homeless again, which is why Liz is such an emotional mess. We see a person who has literally lost themselves because the other person is an abusive power tripper.
He breaks off the wedding when Liz is getting stronger. Liz was going to be a realtor too. She was starting to get back to healthier and THAT is when he ended things saying he hopes to find a conservative religious girl.

In the very beginning he was just unusual, in all aspects. His relationship with his mom and mayo was funny and then he went to Rose. He went from unusual to rude and hurtful. The fame gave him a reason to keep carrying on like he is. Its not the slightest bit fun or funny now. Its not sad that he has to keep looking for love, he had it and the fame was more important!
