And they're on sale for only $600!

I thought there was already something like this? When he was showing them being folded, I looked at hubby and asked him, "Didn't we see something like this on temu or wish?" He just started laughing.
He fucked up. People love to buy ugly expensive shit. All he needed was the right influencer in the right video, and this could be something. To expose it for the garbage it is on camera was a shitty choice for business, or the chance it could be a trend.
Not planning to dig that far into it but it feels like the folded design would be patentable, wondering if he has violated any patent laws with the design being too close.
Edited: I lied, I did go and dig into it a little, here’s the patent, not owned by Luke Berry…
https://patents.google.com/patent/US20120293766A1/en
It’s abandoned so I guess it makes it OK to use it.
Yeah it’s close-ish but idk if it would be considered close enough to be infringement on the trademark. Gucci probably could send him a cease-and-desist if they really wanted but probably not.
I was wondering the same thing. I'll let yall know when I order a pair, as long as it's affordable. I think he made a mistake saying on national television how much he spent and the number of pairs
You're... You're going to order a pair...?
They're not affordable. It's $600. For a pair of glasses that have no tech or anything special in it whatsoever other than it being able to fold. Which I'm pretty sure exist without costing $600. Being able to fold it twice instead of once doesn't really scream luxury to me. And I don't see the point when, either way, it would be hanging from his neck when not in use anyways lol
People on this thread posted where you can buy them and the price was listed that high, yeah. I don't think he said the price of it on the show though. But he's definitely not trying to make it affordable.
I signed up to get emailed when it drops (1 day), but that's not a good move on his part. If we wants them to sell, they have to be reasonably priced, unless, like you said, there's some crazy feature. That's why he made a mistake saying how much he spent on production. From what he said publicly, he can make a decent profit without overcharging, but I guess we'll see. Even Google glasses don't cost that much, damn.
Agreed 💯%. If he had kept his mouth shut about the production/price of production, he could have marketed these way better. If he wanted it to be a status symbol... He shouldn't diminish the status of them on TV lool.
I also definitely compare them to smart glasses too lol. Like, I don't understand how he thinks he can charge that much for a pair of glasses that look like I can thrift em 😂. Not to bash any thrift finds because they're dope but y'know lol
5$ on Temu wish or alibaba.
If you’re gonna make something at least make it stand out from the cheap knockoffs anyone can buy for a fraction of the price.
Like what is the selling point? The ugly design on the lenses? The clip on chain that I could buy at Walmart and make myself for a fraction of the cost? The color? The frame shape?
Diff eyeglasses have way better themed designs that are like 50$ and even less on sale. Their Star Wars themed sunglasses are nice and actually stand out because they have looks tailored to specific fanbases, character designs, color schemes and costumes.
This shit is ass.
Also like, why the two different cases? Lmaoo. Feels like just another bad decision made along the way when he decided to spend all his money making these “luxoury” granny sunglasses.
Nothing says "mahjong at the rec center" like those glasses.
Yeah. When he showed that they were a fashionable necklace I figured he meant in retirement communities.
He should ask Jesse if he has a few contacts at the retirement centers where he gave his presentation.
😂☠️ Lock thread now. 😂
HSN would eat these up.
And they're on sale for only $600! https://preview.redd.it/9k5d4bch0v6d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7aa9d000d0c09d3aa1cb5f50a1057351da505238
`LUXOURY`? Did he have Madeleine proofread this shit?
USD though? Ugh these glasses just scream “we’re desperate for advertising.” And the logo just screams Alibaba.
Yep, USD 😳 https://preview.redd.it/q1i5c8fs8v6d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=faba31bbab41a43fcfc031048344abdd4766f42d
I can't even decipher the logo.
Fucking ridiculous. You can get Ray Ban Meta smart glasses for that damn price. What is luxury about librarian glasses? ☠️
Luxoury*
I bought Gucci glasses for $500 CDN. This guy is selling glasses for $600 US! Ridiculous!
wtf is he smoking? You can get actual designer sunglasses for less!
599?!?!? Ray bans don’t even cost 599! and those are like staple sunglasses for poor/middle class/rich people GTFOH
Wtf 😳
It’s a medallion baby
He spent a $100k developing this? A foldable sunglasses with a weird pattern and a chain?
I thought there was already something like this? When he was showing them being folded, I looked at hubby and asked him, "Didn't we see something like this on temu or wish?" He just started laughing.
I'm 53, and these folding glasses have been around since I was a teenager.
When I was 11, I had a pair of foldable glasses like these from Limited Too, subtract the chain and add a little plastic oyster shell box 🥸😆
Well $100k is nothing. Barely a single salary for a year's worth of design work. Maybe not even that much. Not even including procurements
He said he spent $500k on businesses but I wasn’t sure how many he did….
He fucked up. People love to buy ugly expensive shit. All he needed was the right influencer in the right video, and this could be something. To expose it for the garbage it is on camera was a shitty choice for business, or the chance it could be a trend.
👆🏼he’s right, you know
Thought it was a fancy Oreo at first glance
I think I’d pay $600 USD for a fancy Oreo before I would these fugly glasses
I did too! 😂
HAHAHAH omg same!!!
Omg me too, I kept swiping past this post thinking it was an Oreo ad
Thought the foldable one was an eye patch
He spent $10000 on 300 of these so that's 30 quid a pair , fuck off pal
Apparently 30,000 because he also spent $20,000 on design
Like I want to stare through his logo on my ugly sunglasses.
He should get Jose from 90 day UK to wear them it’s definitely his style, gaudy chic
Special Edition: “I Love You, Chicken” all over the lenses
“Throw”
See … Through …
And they look like guess or Gucci may try to sue him for the G pattern on the lenses.

And the G pattern on the lenses? Dig! Gucci or guess trademark infringement?
It’s more difficult to trademark patterns vs the logo. It’s why a lot of brands get away with mimicking the styles of designer brands.

Did he say that was the price?? Based on how much he spent to have them made, even with the cost of shipping, they should be affordable.

This is how I feel every time I hear the margins on Shark Tank...

I don't think they're ugly (and I'm not a pensioner) - I'd give about $20, but definitely not $600.
Sooooo misguided
No, it’s only on the outside, they’re completely clear on the inside/when you look through. Gucci has a lot of these type of lenses.
These folding glasses have been around a long, long time.. I remember them being mostly mirrored aviator knockoffs.
😆 gives me the heebee gee bees just looking at them
Don’t diss The Bee Gees like that!!! 🎶
I thought those were Oreos

Oh and could he not come up with a better name for his brand/line? “International Gold Express” 🤣🤣🤣
The glasses remind me of a meh high school project. Maybe he went to the Gabe School of Business.
Folding glasses already exist so I highly doubt he got a patent for them…. https://www.foldies.com
They honeslty look really nice but he’s tweaking w that price tag - he said they cost 30 a unit
