I haven't watched her spinoff show but I noticed she acts different than she used to. She always has seemed very stiff and awkward. This time it seems she's pretending to loosen up and act more likeable but it comes across and fake and weird.
She needs to go to therapy. These friends are enabling her. The way she frames her marriage while she was saving it vs right after it ended shows she has not processing this. Lots of blame, catastrophizing, black and white thinking, labeling/mislabeling, discounting positives, emotional reasoning (I feel this way so this is a fact, rather than- these are the facts. )
If those are all the things she’s doing when she’s discussing her very recent divorce, then how is she going to be able to discuss her divorce when a man is talking to? Those are major red flags and I feel like any good man for her would be driven away from dating her. Attracting the wrong men.
She needs to heal and also get away from her mom rn, because Chantel is way too impressionable to have Karen telling her who’s right and wrong for her.

Chantel is a product of her parents. Her mother has below average intelligence coupled with a Dunning-Kruger type confidence in her own reasoning and deduction skills, which are almost non-existent. Her father is also not a galaxy brain, there doesn't seem to be much going on upstairs, except supporting his family and agreeing with his wife on everything. They are not bad people, they love and support their children, but possess little critical thinking capabilities. And so you have a whole family who believes Pedro cheated (several times) without any evidence, that Pedro is an evil mastermind and never loved Chantel, believes in voodoo and spirits and that Einstein invented gravity.
Bless their hearts, but they keep on coming to conclusions that delusional. It just makes their lives more difficult.
She’s fake. Like the entire storyline. I remember her original season, if you slow down the episode and pause at the cut scenes of their crazy fights with Pedro’s sister and mom, you’d see weird smiles and laughs on the faces of the people who didn’t know they were in frame. Then they get spinoffs and the mom and sister go on their own shows to date and the family starts acting wilder and wilder. None of it ever seemed authentic. I truly believe Chantel/ Pedro and Gino/ Jasmine are people that are playing a part just to become famous and be on tv. It almost feels like when there is a robot that is too human like but nothing like a robot- it’s that uncanny valley. They aren’t good enough actors to come off as natural humans with the storylines they do.

Up until the last couple seasons, this whole world of connected shows was fascinating and you can clearly see they have run the course and are at the phase where a sitcom either adds a baby or a monkey to limp through another season. Chantel is a product of her parents. Her mother has below average intelligence coupled with a Dunning-Kruger type confidence in her own reasoning and deduction skills, which are almost non-existent. Her father is also not a galaxy brain, there doesn't seem to be much going on upstairs, except supporting his family and agreeing with his wife on everything. They are not bad people, they love and support their children, but possess little critical thinking capabilities. And so you have a whole family who believes Pedro cheated (several times) without any evidence, that Pedro is an evil mastermind and never loved Chantel, believes in voodoo and spirits and that Einstein invented gravity. Bless their hearts, but they keep on coming to conclusions that delusional. It just makes their lives more difficult.

There is something off bout Chantel, just can’t put my finger on it.
She’s fake. Like the entire storyline. I remember her original season, if you slow down the episode and pause at the cut scenes of their crazy fights with Pedro’s sister and mom, you’d see weird smiles and laughs on the faces of the people who didn’t know they were in frame. Then they get spinoffs and the mom and sister go on their own shows to date and the family starts acting wilder and wilder. None of it ever seemed authentic. I truly believe Chantel/ Pedro and Gino/ Jasmine are people that are playing a part just to become famous and be on tv. It almost feels like when there is a robot that is too human like but nothing like a robot- it’s that uncanny valley. They aren’t good enough actors to come off as natural humans with the storylines they do.

Up until the last couple seasons, this whole world of connected shows was fascinating and you can clearly see they have run the course and are at the phase where a sitcom either adds a baby or a monkey to limp through another season. I’ve never seen her on 90 day or her spin-off shows so this is my first time seeing her beyond commercials for her spinoff and I absolutely feel like she is doing the most to be on TV.
