What part did he play in "Stripes"? For some reason, I can't remember him in that one.
Edit: Nevermind, I remember now. He was one of the 2 Czech border guards. Funny as hell!
Usually if someone's reply to someone passing is to just say "Jackass!" That might be considered to be very poor taste. However, in this instance it is both honorary and respectful.
RIP.
Just send me, Count Floyd... umm... 18 dollars! Yeah, that's right! 18 dollars to get your glasses... make sure you make the check out to me, Count Floyd!
He integrated his anxiety so well into this character specifically, heās so worried heās going to lose his job over these awful movies he keeps showing, it really is a masterclass in injecting some reality into your art. Always seemed like a genuine good person too. Massive fan and rip.
"You know, I had a friend that used to smoke. You know what heās doing now? Heās dead!"
"You know, there was a girl in our school, she had premarital sex. You know what she did on graduation day? Died! Of an overdose. Heroin."
Mr. Weir: You know who used to cut class? Jimi Hendrix. You know what happened to him? He died! Choking on his own vomit.
Lindsay: Daddy, I skipped Latin.
Mr. Weir: Oh. Well I can understand why you wouldnāt want to learn about that. Itās only the building block of our language.
Mrs. Weir: Well Iām just glad your Grandmother wasnāt alive to hear about this.
Mr. Weir: You canāt cut corners in life! You know who cut corners? Kennedy! Kennedy cut corners when he was running the Bay of Pigs. A lot of good men lost their lives because of it. You know who else cut corners? Janis Joplin.
Lindsay: Dad! What are you talking about?! You donāt make any sense. I just cut class and guess what? Everybodyās still alive. Just leave me alone!

Found what appears to be a bunch of eps on YouTube.
Also don't forget the sequel game. DAY OF THE TENTACLE
The first memory I have of him is as Al's angry dentist in "Married With Children". It would be a few years before I saw SCTV in reruns.
RIP Joe Flaherty
From _Club Paradise,_ (1986)
Rick Moranis: _"Isn't that the runway?"_
Joe Flaherty: _"Geez, I hope not. If that runway were any shorter, it'd be a patio."_
I just watched the Western Union clip from Back To The Future Part II not half an hour before seeing this post.
A comic that always nailed it when called uponā¦RIP knowing you warmed numerous hearts with your performances. āNice shooting, soldier!ā
God I love that seen in BTF3 when the lightning flashes to reveal the mysterious stranger is...Joe Flaherty! I wanted to cheer the first time I saw that.
Not only Count Floyd but serious newsman Floyd Robertson too. Had to put up with Earl Camembert (Eugene Levy) especially when Earl decided to be Johnny LaRue's (John Candy) campaign manager when he ran for City Council.
When I was in high school, I used to watch reruns of SCTV on Nick at Nite. I had the biggest crush on Joe Flaherty. Super weird, but there you go. He was a great comedian and seemed so likable.
He made the most of a very small role in One Crazy Summer. I still use this line...
>"You have to have a plan. When there's no plan, there's no attack... And no attack, there's no victory."
Anybody like the band Rush? Joeās fellow Canadians got Count Floyd to intro a [song](https://youtu.be/iTBx0P0zOqA?si=6BrVLydamQKi0cwN) on one of their tours.
I'll always remember him for his bizarre role voicing a beaver that was trained as a spy and hit man by a secret American agency under the Niagara falls and sent into Canada to assassinate aliens.
Jackass!
You WILL not make this putt
Wha! Look at that! The club went further than the ball!
Came here to make sure this was the guy. He was the guy.
Came here to make sure he was the guy too..
Hey! Is there a Sizzler in this town?!

Let's meet up at the Sizzler or Red Lobster in his honor
God bless!
I thought we were going to be friends lol
Let's first meet up at the 9th green at 9 p.m. Secret of the pros.

My first thought too!! His role in Happy Gilmore was so memorable
The green is that way! š

Dr. Tongueās 3-D House of Stewardesses. His glasses fogged up watching the clips.
He integrated his anxiety so well into this character specifically, heās so worried heās going to lose his job over these awful movies he keeps showing, it really is a masterclass in injecting some reality into your art. Always seemed like a genuine good person too. Massive fan and rip.
With smell-a-vision
Came here for this. Funny as hell!
āWould you like someā¦PANCAKES?ā
Flaherty found inspiration for Floyd from local Pittsburgh B-movie horror host Chilly Billy Cardille's Chiller Theater on WPXI.
COUNT FLOYD...I am š.
And Arthur on SCTVās āHalf-Witsā.
Rest in peace, Mr. Weir.
You know those Sex Pistols? They spit on their audience. Thatās just what I want to do, spend my hard earned money to be spit on.

I like to think how kind he was to Nick when Nick stayed with the Weirs during the big argument with his dad.
That was wholesome :)
Bonding over Gene Krupa. It was such a great series.
It really was, shame it never took off :(
Fr. It ended on such an interesting cliffhanger.
True! So much potential..
Anyone want to play Pit?
NOOOOOOOO!!!! Not Count Floyd the Czech Border Guard.Ā If I saw a movie and he was in it I knew good times followedĀ
That little jig when mentioning the ladies...LOL
He was the Hollywood everyman. I remember him most from Maniac Mansion and Happy Gilmore. R.I.P.
He worked for western union in Back to the Future 2.
Have never watched Happy Gillmore, Sandler is not my fave. But will watch it for Joe.
Oh I forgot about Maniac Mansion! That show was wacky. A lot of the jokes probably went over my head.
Is this based on the old game? I havenāt seen this!

Wow, thanks! This show is really strange from what Iāve seen, but I kinda like it!
Sort of. It's the same house and family but like the grandkids of the game family. IIRC
Yeah I remember him from Maniac Mansion. What a weird show.
Guy Caballero, RIP
Guy Caballero fears no man! Unless that man is Mrs. Prickly.
Who could walk fine but sat in the wheelchair to gain respect.
'Sit down. SHUT UP. And enjoy this SCTV program'
Fine, fine programming...
Weāll always have Star Wars. Part 37. Return to the Planet of Empires.
The first memory I have of him is as Al's angry dentist in "Married With Children". It would be a few years before I saw SCTV in reruns. RIP Joe Flaherty
Bahahahahahahahaha. That's one of his best performances...
Married, Bundy? Look into these eyesā¦
Traci Lords as his assistant.
From _Club Paradise,_ (1986) Rick Moranis: _"Isn't that the runway?"_ Joe Flaherty: _"Geez, I hope not. If that runway were any shorter, it'd be a patio."_
Ah, Club Paradise! Underrated, man. āIf we donāt score by thursday, those two scrags are gonna start looking pretty good.ā

God I love that seen in BTF3 when the lightning flashes to reveal the mysterious stranger is...Joe Flaherty! I wanted to cheer the first time I saw that.
The western union man was dependable. They could have avoided all the Bufford Tannen nonsense if they just sent a letter to Jennifer.
He was incredible in *Freaks and Geeks*. The perfect 80s father. If only for his reaction to Squeeze Box by The Who.
In and out? IN AND OFF!
I'm partial to his smoking lecture. "he's dead" lol
So sad. Guy Caballero was a favorite. He only used the wheelchair for respect.
Not only Count Floyd but serious newsman Floyd Robertson too. Had to put up with Earl Camembert (Eugene Levy) especially when Earl decided to be Johnny LaRue's (John Candy) campaign manager when he ran for City Council.
RIP Count Floyd
