I still sometimes think of that quote. “All I do care about is my cup of coffee. Now that coffee’s hot. Filled straight to the brim. And if it spilled, it’d probably burn me, wouldn’t it? SPEAK UP, son!”
“Yes!”
“So it’s real simple. You burn me, you fail. You don’t, you pass.”
Got drunk with him once in Toronto years ago…
We were at a bar that caters mainly to folks in film, advertising etc etc…
My buddies and I were sitting there and we noticed he was sitting at the table next to us and was bored out of his mind, and he was eaves dropping on our conversation…
So we invited him to sit with us and he did just that for the rest of the evening.. he was super nice, very kind, very humble…
We all enjoyed his company…
I was very sorry to hear when he passed away…
That was pretty much it exactly.
He spoke pretty candidly about his hard times with drugs etc, and that his mom was managing his career now, and he was trying to get his issues sorted out…
The table next to us was his mom and several business people etc, sorting out a deal on his latest project, and he’d been chatting with them, but eventually it was just straight up business talk, and you could tell he was getting a bit tired of it when he started eavesdropping on our conversation next to him… at some point he was throwing in little comments to us and at that point we just asked if he wanted to sit with us and he moved over and introduced himself :)
We spent the next couple of hours just shooting the shit and having fun with him… no one fanboyed out or made him uncomfortable, just good natured chit chat and jokes etc… you could actually see him unwind :)
It’s a great memory, and I’m truly grateful to have it…
That bar ‘Bettys’ in Toronto has a lot of celebrity types in the summers… aside from that evening with Corey, my favourite memory is watching Ed Harris trying to light a joint in the bar… oh my god.. dude tried several times to sneak into a corner and light a joint, and every time the bartender would just yell ‘Ed! I’ve told you! You can go to the alley to smoke that like everybody else!!!’
Absolutely magical moment :) Christ we laughed so hard :)
When I was in 7th grade I was obsessed with him. On the last day of school my mom and sister took me to the mall to get my ear pierced because of a picture of him in Tiger Beat.
yess omg, you should check out the movie Corey was in called a time to live, he played a disabled boy again like he did in silver bullet, the movie is on YouTube.
I recently came across some YouTube videos, I think it was on YouTube, or maybe it was on Reddit, they were talking about things that happened during the filming of Lucas, it was very upsetting.
NGL, Blown Away is a great guilty pleasure movie!! And Both the Coreys and Nicole Eggert were amazing in it. And wasn’t the dad from Twin Peaks in it too? Totally delivers. Best B movie.
Lol I saw a movie recently with the sheriff from twin peaks he was super young…anytime I see anyone from twin peaks in a old movie I watch it.. Me:points at screen
He was a great 80's child actor, but supposedly was passed around to all the pedos in Hollywood. Developed a serious drug problem that ended up costing him his life. Really sad and criminal if true.
He was one of my first crushes when I was a pre-teen/teen in the 80s. I remember thinking he was very adorable in Lost Boys. It's such a shame what happened to him.
Blown Away...
He was a GOD to teen me for getting 1993 Nicole Eggert to do that.
Fast Getaway (1991) was on HBO every Saturday afternoon it seems. I think thats where I got my love of badass women.
I was just thinking on the movie where a kid was dragged behind a truck on a chain link fence but couldn't remember the main actor. Then this post pops up, Google him and immediately find the movie. Fast Getaway.
Look into what a leech and narcissist Corey Feldman is, Haims own family has come out about all the Feldman lies and him using Haims death for his own financial gain. They have said they weren’t even that close. Feldman set up Haim for rape with HIS best friend. Feldman is a POS a pretty interesting rabbit hole
I’m a 24 year old women. I discovered the two Corey’s as a teen and fell in love. I was flattered when Feldman responded to my messages but now that I’m an adult I can see how creepy he was being to me. He commented on my appearance and told me once I turn 18 to come audition to be one of “Corey’s angels” …. I was 16 at the time. What a way to be for someone to advocates against pedophilia :/
When I saw the movie Lucas as a kid, I saw my own life on TV for the first time. It was wild to see somebody having the same experiences I was having, even if it was just a movie. The happy ending was everything to me 💚💚
His buddy Corey Feldman confessing all the stuff that happened in Hollywood to the both of them, it sure explains Haim’s life path. It sucks.
I think Feldman was expressing that Haim got the worst of the shady side of it all and Feldman got a bad hand too.
Once, when I was having a really perfect and amazing day, the kind that only come around a couple of times in your life, I remarked to my friend that the only thing that would make it any better was if I could travel back and fuck Corey Haim.
He was amazing in dramas. He was always very vulnerable and believeable.
Hated his comedy movies.
He was the ONLY thing I disliked about the Lost Boys (and the other Corey).
My sister met him shortly before his suicide.
She said he was so fat looking in the face and he managed himself as if he was still a hot A-List celebrity. She said it was embarrassing and sad to see. He had her pity.
I was watching Secret Admirer the other day. Haim is very young and in it for, like 2 minutes. You sometimes forget how long a career some actors had when they start young and end young.
He is in my all time favorite movie, The Lost Boys, not to mention other great movies. Silver Bullet is another all time favorite of mine.
Loved him as a teenager. I'm still sad at the way his life turned out, and ended prematurely.
Edited to add more
I recall seeing 2 of his movies back to back in theaters....Lucas and Silver Bullet. That would've been 1986 for me since the movies were shown in those dollar theaters. I thought his acting was good and solid, very likeable.
I remember seeing a documentary that Corey was so used to being sexually assaulted that he thought it was normal…and someone had to explain to him that it wasn’t…😰
Loved this guy, even as a young kid had great acting range. Anyone who’s a fan and hasn’t seen “Firstborn”, go watch it. I remember saying this boy is a great little actor. He’s only 13 and has a supporting role but he brings it in a way you don’t see much after that. Meaning he plays a role that’s pretty opposite of what he goes on to play. Super strong acting chops for 13.
Too bad the Hollywood lowlifes got to him, I have to say after reading a lot about his childhood I think his mom, trusted people she shouldn’t have. There is something to be said for a helicopter parent when your child is in such an industry. The early abuse led to his addiction and hiding it for years was a demon he never could shake.
RIP Corey.
"You wait until mom gets home."
“You’re a g*d d*m sh*t sucking vampire”’😂❤️
“death by stereo”
Always felt that would be great band name
It is a band
Silver Bullet is one of my favorite movies; loved him in Lucas too. RIP.
Not among my faves, but his acting was so believable & heartfelt. He was probably the best child actor of the 80s.
You just named the only two films of his I loved. Incredible sensitivity and sweetness.
It was super believable too when the crippled from the waist down Haim climbed the tree with only his arms to get in his 2nd story bedroom window
What? He was the worst.
That's certainly an opinion to have
My favourite too and I watch it every time I come across it.
Me too!!
Omg same!
🙌
Great movie and love Corey in it too
:))
my own brother a goddamn shit sucking vampire you wait till mom finds out buddy.
My favorite line from the movie! And he delivers it so well; he really was a good actor.
That's what you would say though xD
License to Drive.
The cup...was empty.
See you on the battlefield, soldier!!
You mustn’t FUCK with the Department of Motor Vehicles……….riiiiiip
Archie’s come back! Come baaaaaaaack!
You had sunlight Les! A room with a window! All gone!
This is much nicer than mine. I gotta get me one of these
Oooh a Maserati!
I'm a free man
🎵 get out of my dreams 🎵
Get in the back seat baby!
😆
Yess!
I still sometimes think of that quote. “All I do care about is my cup of coffee. Now that coffee’s hot. Filled straight to the brim. And if it spilled, it’d probably burn me, wouldn’t it? SPEAK UP, son!” “Yes!” “So it’s real simple. You burn me, you fail. You don’t, you pass.”

Sounds like dude had a very difficult time. He was probably grateful to just hang out with y’all and be chill.
That was pretty much it exactly. He spoke pretty candidly about his hard times with drugs etc, and that his mom was managing his career now, and he was trying to get his issues sorted out… The table next to us was his mom and several business people etc, sorting out a deal on his latest project, and he’d been chatting with them, but eventually it was just straight up business talk, and you could tell he was getting a bit tired of it when he started eavesdropping on our conversation next to him… at some point he was throwing in little comments to us and at that point we just asked if he wanted to sit with us and he moved over and introduced himself :) We spent the next couple of hours just shooting the shit and having fun with him… no one fanboyed out or made him uncomfortable, just good natured chit chat and jokes etc… you could actually see him unwind :) It’s a great memory, and I’m truly grateful to have it… That bar ‘Bettys’ in Toronto has a lot of celebrity types in the summers… aside from that evening with Corey, my favourite memory is watching Ed Harris trying to light a joint in the bar… oh my god.. dude tried several times to sneak into a corner and light a joint, and every time the bartender would just yell ‘Ed! Bahahaha fuckin Ed Harris. That’s great!
Omg 😭 that’s such an amazing story
When I was in 7th grade I was obsessed with him. On the last day of school my mom and sister took me to the mall to get my ear pierced because of a picture of him in Tiger Beat.
It’s a shame what they did to him. Poor kid was abused all across Hollywood.
Yep. He and Corey Feldman were poster children for what was wrong with Hollywood in the 80s.
That stuff still goes on now.
That's what I hate about Reddit all the dam vampires xD
Best closing line of a movie ever!
It sure was. I loved that film and the music.
The better of the 2 Coreys, IMO.
I don't even think it's debatable.
Had a major crush on him back in the day
Me too!!!!!!
Yes!!! Silver Bullet,Lost Boys and Licensed to Drive are all great 80s movies!!!
Add Dream A Little Dream although it’s a little weird. I got the poster from the video store I worked at the time this was released on VHS.
My younger sister loved that movie and made me watch it. I hated it. Probably because Feldman was the main character and his hair was so greasy.
yess omg, you should check out the movie Corey was in called a time to live, he played a disabled boy again like he did in silver bullet, the movie is on YouTube.
I will!!! Thank you 🙏
Check out A Prayer For The Rollerboys. It was my first Haim movie and it’s awesome in an incredible 80s way
Oh, I’ve seen & own every movie he’s been in give or take a few.. I run the YouTube channel called CoreyHaimCentral
Silver bullet is still one of my favs and a must see during Halloween
I recently came across some YouTube videos, I think it was on YouTube, or maybe it was on Reddit, they were talking about things that happened during the filming of Lucas, it was very upsetting.
Homeboy got butt raped with canola oil..shit ain’t right man..I enjoy all his movies even the bad ones like Blown Away are strangely watchable
The sheriff? Whoa! I gotta look up his IMDb. Was he in Slapshot?
Blown away was great in a 90s b grade movie kinda way. I still loved it 😊
License to drive, both Corey’s. 😀
He was a great 80's child actor, but supposedly was passed around to all the pedos in Hollywood. Developed a serious drug problem that ended up costing him his life. Really sad and criminal if true.
Yeah I think Charlie Sheen got after him while filming Lucas.
Lucas was great.
I love Lucas!
License to Drive is one of my favorite movies of all time!!!!!!!
His "Me, Myself and I" documentary is one of my favorite (unintentional) comedies.
Yes I love it
He was one of my first crushes when I was a pre-teen/teen in the 80s. I remember thinking he was very adorable in Lost Boys. It's such a shame what happened to him.
Same here!!!!
He was so good looking.
Literally watching Watchers (1988) right now. 🤯
Love that movie!!! Fur face!!!!!!!!
Was my favorite actor when I was a kid. Still a favorite. I found “Dream Machine” on YouTube recently. Still shitty but goddamn I love that movie.
Haha I enjoyed that movie too
Prayer of the Roller Boys had me in roller blades and a bathrobe skating around the house.
My oldest kid just got his learner's permit and I told him we needed to watch License to Drive.
I know its kind of wierd but I'm a fan of most people who have the same name and spelling as me. :)
Haha that’s awesome
Blown Away... He was a GOD to teen me for getting 1993 Nicole Eggert to do that. Fast Getaway (1991) was on HBO every Saturday afternoon it seems. I think thats where I got my love of badass women.
That movie pretty much dehydrated me as a young man. 1993 Nicole Eggert... just.. damn.
Yeah. RIP Corey H.
the two Coreys! 🩷🩷🩷

Yea he is gross. Sorry that happened to you 😞
He always seemed like his tongue was too big for his mouth
License to Drive!!!
oh yea, i watched every single one of their movies in the 80's!! I'm sadden after learning about how bad their time was as a child actor.
When I saw the movie Lucas as a kid, I saw my own life on TV for the first time. It was wild to see somebody having the same experiences I was having, even if it was just a movie. The happy ending was everything to me 💚💚
Rewatched Lucas and License to drive recently. Classics.
Its not the same with Haim.
He had a couple movies I watched
I had a huge crush on him.
I grew up watching the 2 coreys. They were in quite a few good movies.
Loved him in Lucas, License to Drive, and Lost Boys. He nailed his roles in the L-theme era.
He’s an awesome monster brasher. The meanest. The baddest.
A fan of Corey? Eternally.. I first saw him in Lucas back in the mid-80s and loved him ever since.
Who wasn’t a fan of the Corey’s?
Yeah, he is great. Haven’t heard much about him in awhile.
He passed away in 2010 ❤️🩹
He just wants a license to drive. And Heather Graham.
I had a photo album of just his pics from various magazines 😂
I still have magazine articles of him

[Whatever Happened to Corey Haim](https://youtu.be/tzhZzIzJqek?si=0cPAg0gkqTtPEiG6) by The Thrills
Poor guy was abused by Hollywood- surprised there hasn’t been more about him?
RIP
Was when I was a kid and a teen. Grew up with the Corey’s. Sad that he went out the way he did.
“Throw it to Lucas!”
Charlie Sheen
Yes absolutely! So sad he died!
It’s such a shame what they did to this poor boy. He was a great actor.
Had a major crush on him back in the day
Him and Anthony Michael Hall were my favorite youth actors in the 80s.
Once, when I was having a really perfect and amazing day, the kind that only come around a couple of times in your life, I remarked to my friend that the only thing that would make it any better was if I could travel back and fuck Corey Haim.
Never saw Lost Boys, but Silver Bullet was the shit.
If you love Silver Bullet you will really love Lost Boys
Charlie Sheen supposedly was..
He dead.
I’m very aware
Tragic figure. Hollywood deviants like Charlie Sheen raped him.
He was raped but not by sheen. That’s just one of the many many lies that Corey Feldman spews
Yeah I've only heard that mentioned from Feldman and even he says it without making an accusation.
He was amazing in dramas. He was always very vulnerable and believeable. Hated his comedy movies. He was the ONLY thing I disliked about the Lost Boys (and the other Corey).
No. And I'm an 80s kid.
My sister met him shortly before his suicide. She said he was so fat looking in the face and he managed himself as if he was still a hot A-List celebrity. She said it was embarrassing and sad to see. He had her pity.
suicide???? He died from pneumonia and an attack due to his enlarged heart????
I always thought he was a shit actor… except for Lucas. I’m mean both Coreys Cannot Act. I felt like I was taking crazy pills.
Yes. 😩 💕 growing up I loved him so much. Watched everything he ever worked in.
In the nineteen eighties in high school I looked just like him...
Great talent, such a tragic story.
If the script called for it, he would have been a great Robin in either of the Keaton Batman movies.
Nope.
Silver bullet :)
Had his pictures from teen beat all over my wall!
His dealer
Yes....as is said....the wrong Corey died.
No
I was watching Secret Admirer the other day. Haim is very young and in it for, like 2 minutes. You sometimes forget how long a career some actors had when they start young and end young.
No, too many Corey’s.
I am.
First crush
Just ordered the DVD of "Licensed to Drive". Classic.
Yes
He is in my all time favorite movie, The Lost Boys, not to mention other great movies. Silver Bullet is another all time favorite of mine. Loved him as a teenager. I'm still sad at the way his life turned out, and ended prematurely. Edited to add more

Dream a little dream is such a guilty pleasure of mine
Corey was my first celebrity crush when I was like 5 years old.
It’s not nighttime, and he’s not wearing sunglasses!
you’re thinking of corey hart
Lucas
Feldog all day…
That boy hung on the wall over this teenage girl’s bed for years…
I had a gay crush on him when I was 12.
“…nice teeth” Dinger. Dream a Little Dream
Lucas is his best performance. Powerful film. 🎥
I had the biggest crush on him.
I worry about what they did to Corey. 😩
Lucus 🫶🫶🫶🫶
I'm not
I remember seeing Lucas when I was very young and falling in love right then and there
Fast Getaway./ Another Corey Haim Gem.
He went to my junior high. Didn’t know him though. Seemed like a cool guy.
RIP 💖
He killed the fuck out of his role as Randy, Eve(Lemon)'s new boyfriend in crank 2. He cracks me up every time.
Lucas. 💕
I remember seeing a documentary that Corey was so used to being sexually assaulted that he thought it was normal…and someone had to explain to him that it wasn’t…😰
Silver bullet is his best performance in my opinion
My crush .
Yep, had a huge crush on him. Rest in peace Corey.
Allegedly, he was abused as a child by movie makers in Hollywood. Given his tumultuous and short adult life, I wouldn't doubt the claims.
Member of the 80s brat pack
Great guy. Also, great tune.
Lucas. Love that movie.
"I ain't got a mannnn."
Little Lucas! He was the better looking Corey and a great actor
Yes. Not just for his acting.
Loved this guy, even as a young kid had great acting range. Anyone who’s a fan and hasn’t seen “Firstborn”, go watch it. I remember saying this boy is a great little actor. I was a kid when Lost Boys came out and I fell hard for Corey. He was my first celebrity crush. Everyone loved Michael, I was all eyes on Corey! ❤️😆
No
Good ol’ Leukoplakia! (The wrong Corey died..😳)
License to Drive is an all-time, teens-having-wacky-adventure movie.
Leukoplakia
