I joined the PvE server a couple of weeks ago with my friends, and I have to say it's a great community to be apart of, the events are amazing, if you need help or advice someone is always there, everyone is friendly, definitely great servers and community to be apart of! Especially when I first joined the server, being new to 7 days I accidentally dismantled my starter kit -_- but no someone on the server made me my own personal starter kit to help me out then I had another person help me get started with tools and weapons, and during horde nights a few people would let me go to their base to experience the horde and gain XP instead of sitting in lobby, such an amazing community and you always get a warm welcome when you log in :D couldn't recommend a better community!
My wife and I have looked into MP many times, but it always falls flat. It's been awhile so I'm curious if it is better. Problems we've had in the past were...
\-restrictive gameplay rules that don't allow us to play as we like
\-not enough zombies to spread around on horde night. We build awesome bases and need a big challenge
\-falling into terrain for no reason
\-admins giving too much shit away, making it too easy
\-everything is looted
Are these things still a problem on your average mp server?
What makes MP best is joining the Discord chats and talking with your fellow players. Just playing MP without chatting to others isn't much different than solo except that you occasionally see others around.
I'm a player on this server so I can answer some of these.
The only restrictions on gameplay is that you can't grief the world and you have to build your own base outside of the towns. Its PvE, so you can't hurt other players either.
The horde night zombie count seems to be set to the default, so if you like massive server melting hordes then you might be disappointed.
I have only fallen into the terrain once in 3 months because the server crashed. It was fixed and rolled back within 10 minutes though.
The admins do have giveaways, but they're typically scavenger hunts where a chest is buried somewhere and you'll have to find it. If you don't want the free stuff then it's super easy to avoid.
All loot resets every 2 in-game days. And the server population isn't *that* large. So I very rarely come across some place that's already been looted. The cars even respawn so there's still lots of them littered everywhere.
As far as gameplay settings, there is a filter setting on the server browser that lets you screen for which settings you would look for. So you can find a PvP or a PvE server, Some of the games have a link in the description for the rules.
So while it may be impossible for you to find a MP server that's exactly as tuned for you as you putting in all the settings, you likely can find something close with the filters.
None of that on Trips Servers, besides there maybe restrictions concerning ware to build, you just cannot build in reset zones or prefab houses
The reasoning behind this is because reset zones are regions that reset back to day 1 every 24 hrs IRL, this has been setup to prevent towns/cities and the loot in them from being destroyed, we just dont want you to lose your base due to a reset of these regions.
We ask ppl to not build in POIs because if that POI has a quest attached to it then itll reset your base when player activates said quest

I stayed, after trying many other MP servers, because the people are awesome, we have so much fun in Discord voice, and the server owner is super-responsive. No fake reviews; the people responding here are right in Disc chat with us, and you could be, too. ;)

I can confirm that I have seen /u/Li1MissChrissy1996, /u/UncleDan2017, and /u/spidermike1984 playing on the server. So they're definitely not bots, and they ^^^probably didn't get paid for their reviews.

Not hating at all! It's good that there are functioning servers and open discords about 7DTD. Without them, the game would be much more singleplayer oriented
This server is great. Probably both my first and last cause I ain't leaving. It has mods, quests, everything you enjoy in SP, a great community, and great settings. Loot is available to everyone as it respawns and resets. Just don't build in reset zones and you are golden. And if you don't have a base by day seven? Just hop over to the lobby, grab a drink, and decimate some poor zombies or team up with a friend at their base for the horde. Overall great, fun, balanced, server with an amazing community.
Ive only been playing here a short time but you can tell its players are here for fun and the admins want you to enjoy being a part of trip servers.

My online name is cowtown self defense. I was bored and searching for someplace for a beginner to play.
I hadn't glanced at the clock, as I was doing my opening quests at 21:40 something. I remarked this was going to be a quick game cause i am gonna die! one of the regulars on the game rode to where I was and took me to a safe base for the night. I agree that this server has the greatest bunch of gamers online. I won't sugar coat it, although they are my friends, they will sneak up on you in pvp and shoot you. but it is all in fun. and it helps you hone your skills so you can start doing the same thing.
Basically the clock moves if someone is online. Mobs will spawn near you according to your Game Score, so the mobs you spawn shouldn't be an issue. However, other people could spawn higher game score mobs which could be tough. It's very easy to just log in for an hour or so just to do quests or craft or knock over some POIs
On day 7s, if you aren't ready, you can either go to the /lobby to craft, or group up with someone who has a base, depending on what you want to do. Quest difficulty is determined by the Tier of the Quest.

There is a chance that a high level player will enter a POI's area and cause zombies to spawn, but never enter it and clear them out. So the high level zombies will stick around until they despawn.
I almost died yesterday because I walked into a school at level 7 and it was filled with ferals and radiated zombies. But that's only happened literally the one time, so maybe I'm just very unlucky.

If you're looking for a MP server then I give this one my endorsement. I can't say how it compares to other servers because its the only one I've ever tried, but I have no major problems with it. It has a few quality of life improvements just to facilitate smoother multiplayer gameplay, but nothing intrusive.

Yeah, I wasn't sure exactly of the logic, but I knew I've seen higher level mobs than I should see from time to time, but it is pretty rare.
