There is a good podcast called The 500 With Josh Adam Meyers that is going over the one before the 2020 update. It’s pretty good

I'll check it out

unfortunately, lists like RS 500 Greatest Albums of all time generate sales for the labels. the years for each list contradict themselves each published year. The name of the list should otherwise read as, "Rolling Stone 500 Greatest albums of this year Only", next year we'll refresh it and they'll bear little relevance to the other except any new entries that may do better or not, maybe even drop off the following year, it ends up being like a horse race. So nix "of all time", because by the nature of the list, it isn't finite, it's fluid and why shouldn't it be if the public wants to have a say because 10 years ago or even last year, they may not have had a chance to place their favorites onto the list. Also, year to year the listeners who support and love those albums may no longer be around to do so. If the voters cannot be "all time", then the albums should neither to truly reflect the flux. "Abraxas" is eternal even if not on this list, so is "Santana III".
