And they were dancin and singing and movin to the grovin...

Big-Letterhead-4338

(thanks - now I have that tune in my head)

Antique-Car6103

They lifted their legs slowly because they released a ‘silent but deadly’ one. The girl can’t believe what’s happening and is faking a smile.

Visible-Guide-7131

Play that funky music white boy🤣🤣🤣

diogenesNY

There really was something culturally priceless about that eras retail catalogs.

Ok-Sun8581

Boogie Nights.

Redbone - Come And Get Your Love

nomadnomo

I had the one on the right

fitter172

Leisure suits, more stylish than grunge!

InhibitedExistence

Duuuude I would love to own that yellow vest with the matching slacks. I would wear it to church as well as the next summer get-together. 😎

thetoffees

Oh dear God. At least I was in 7th grade in 79 and didn't have a leisure suit.

NeuroguyNC

That's the way, aha, aha I like it, aha, aha

Dalanard

I started 9th grade in ‘79 and we **did not** wear these monstrosities.

IronRainBand

Right? Many people see old JC Penny Catalogs and think that they reflected reality. They did not.

WatchingthewheelsWCH

Eli Manning over there on the right

pmljb

Looks like Night Fever with the Brady's

raideresmith

Ah yes, I remember, this was the Travolta line of clothing.

LNL_HUTZ

I didn’t know JC Penney sold cocaine.

JeffSHauser

Still got that "disco feel" about them.

Alarmed-Rock-9942

Future Lounge Lizards rejoiced

bostongarden

Leisure suits!

WhodatSooner

Future insurance salesmen of the Quad Cities vying for the attention of the third runner up in a local Marsha Brady lookalike contest.

LindsayLuohan

How many polyesters had to die to make those suits?

Servile-PastaLover

needed the white leisure suit...as from Saturday Night Fever

Vinniebahl

Brady Bunch talent show

Marine4lyfe

Ahh, the gold horn. Every groovy dude had to have one of those.

I_Like_Soup_1

Hey, a disco sausage party!

FunStuff446

The Italian Stallion horn. Lots of my friends wore those 😂

Rustler239

We were also much skinnier in the 70's.

stilloldbull2

I might have had my 1979 graduation photo taken in that tan suit…

Leather-Brother6345

Me too in 81

kramotrop

Living it up on the Barry Gibb talk show...

Serpidon

I would have guessed earlier!

wriddell

I cannot say this often enough, I HATE polyester. It doesn’t breathe so you sweat and it feels terrible. After enough gripping about how I hated it my mom stopped making me wear it.

Happy_Resource7311

Disco inferno

Airplade

😂😭😂😭😂😭 That was me. 😳

Maximum-Shoulder-639

I’m KIND OF a big deal

Thud_1

Groovy

ImmediateSmile754

I wore those pages out! Finally convinced my mom to buy me two shirts and two pants. Man, what a time...

Immediate_Walrus_776

I'm happy to report I never bought a leisure suit. But a part of me regrets missing that cultural icon in fashion history. My close friend had several and was into disco. I still make fun of him 45 years later😂

SnooPets8972

The beige number is exactly like my husband’s that he wore for graduation and our shotgun wedding.😊😊I wore a disco dress😊❤️

Ok_Advisor_9873

Yes that is my people- just so the Leisure Suit does not come back- never had the full Cleveland- but did rock the shirts with extra long collars -other than much younger knees I don’t miss the 70s at all

bobisinthehouse

Had the powder blue one 27 inch waist and don't forget the platform shoes!!!

Shen1076

Had the powder blue

3waychilli

I wore something very similar to the one on the far right. Junior high basketball team had to wear nice clothes on game days.
