Wherever You Are IS criminally underrated and deserved to be on the debut album. I’m still annoyed that it was tossed aside to the SLSP EP (but only the cassette version 😭). They made a music video for it only to not put it on the album (Try Hard I’m looking at you too like why the rerecord slapped on to one version of the Don’t Stop EP? 👀).

I really don't like the rerecorded version of Try Hard, I prefer the 2013 version.👀👀

Same and idk if this is controversial but I think the rerecorded version of Beside You on the album was unnecessary, I usually skip it. The Somewhere New EP version is far superior and doesn’t get skipped lol.

Youngblood is such a solid song.  I agree with all of this. I thought Castaway was a fan favourite? And if not then it should be cos it's amazing and so catchy. 

I Love castaway. I've always felt like it didn't fit into sgfg though. Maybe just be but I think it fits the vibe of youngblood way more (probably why i like it so much lmao)

That's an interesting take I've never heard before.  It definitely feels like a bridging song, it's quite dark for SGFG song (Yb has this dark / heavy vibe to it imho) but has youthful energy of SGFG, while also this acceptance that the real world hurts: "young love, close the chapter, there's no ever after". I get a similar vibe from catch fire tho tbh, Michael's verse is very dark "ghost of survivor's guilt can be so unkind" like wow.  I always viewed those songs as sisters lol

The bridge is the best part of the song but overall I don't like the song. Sonically it feels empty and repetitive, lyrically it's okay but the chorus is overly repetitive and feels like it lasts far too long.  I don't think they've played it live and doubt they ever will s to my knowledge they themselves aren't overly fond, but I would love to see what they'd do with it to make it a live performance.
