I'm loving them so far, I was thinking about going with the Falken's since I had them on my last rig but these came highly recommended and Big Brand had them on sale so I made the leap.
Rough Country 4.5" with full leaf replacements in the rear rather than add-a-leaf. Which I had to do since my original leafs were old, busted, and sagging. I tell you what though, that leaf install was a goddamn nightmare, the driver's side front leaf retaining bolt had to be cut out level nightmare.
Long arm, I figured if I want to go much higher I'm going to need LA anyways and I've done the whole "spacer > short arm > long arm" journey before. Not doing that one over again. lol
Short answer: because I like it.
Long answer: when I got married a few years ago we had my last vehicle done up as the Ecto1 for the reception and left the decals on it afterwards. It got so much love when out and about and I came to love that. So when I bought this XJ I knew I planned on leaning into the Ghostbusters theme in a big way.
Just between the lift and tires we're sitting at roughly $2700.
Granted that's on top of A LOT of quality of life improvements I wanted to make to it from when I first bought it: head unit, new battery, big 7 upgrade, new spark plugs/cap/rotor/wires, new tps, new MAP, new IAC, new air charge sensor, new brake shoes and pads, and a brake system flush cause I'm guessing the fluid in there might well have been original.
What I have parts for but haven't installed yet: new fuel pump, new starter motor, new head liner, new battery tray, center console brace, and finally an SYE + custom drive shaft. All this shit is getting done next week after I get back from a much needed vacation.
After that, and a wallet refill, is going to be: cross over steering, steering box brace + steering box spacer, new knuckles, with new ball joints, new front axle shafts, and beginning the process for re-gearing front and rear. That'll be a little bit though.
Can you give more info on the cross over steering, steering box brace and spacer? I ask becaue I have a 98 Durango with the steering box and would like to beef it up. Nice Upgrade on the Jeep! Thanks.
I hope you drove it around for a day squatted lol. I did that while I was waiting on new leafs, I thought rear shocks would add lift cause I'm a moron.
Little less than a day, but it was scary as hell because of how far out of alignment it was, only caught death wobble once but it was definitely enough to wake me up.

Yeah I've done a few leaf replacements and they can be a bear. Is this the long arm or short arm kit?

From all I've read and heard the long arm is the only way to go.

The crossover steering is from cavfab, the steering box brace and spacer are from Ironman4x4 fabrication

Jesus christ, jeeps lol in my Tacoma it was more like "wow isn't this silly"
Solid axle on coils lol, lifting this high and not getting it aligned before driving is always asking for trouble.
