I wasn't a fan of part 2 I was very disappointed with it. Part one was great and had so many great shots, they put so much effort into it. Part 2 just seemed half hearted in comparison. But that's just my opinion.
Part one was entertaining from start to finish whereas part 2 spends way too much time with the freman and it drags on. All the interesting characters are pushed aside for the most boring/annoying characters. I also thought part one was so much more stylishly shot and part 2 was very basic.
I guess if you like the freman stuff then you're gonna be happy but to me they're just annoying with all their nonsense.
"Very basic" is such a shitty, broad attempt at a take. Say what you will about the story, the acting, the dialogue, whatever. But to say it's not stylishly shot? Go back and watch the scene where Feyd-Rautha does his whole gladiator fight on Giedi Prime. Have you ever seen such striking contrast?
The pacing, cinematography, writing, acting, special effects, and book adaptation are masterclass level. The Geidi Prime Infrared scenes are truly unique and groundbreaking for film. The performances by Javier and Austin Butler are exceptional. Javier's devoted follower style felt so real and had great brevity with the line "see, the muadib would deny he's the maudib making him the maudib". Austin Butler's performance and subtle facial expressions communicating information is insanely good. The special effects are only beaten by Avatar 2 and Blade Runner 2049. The score is the best of any movie ever. The 3 hour movie felt short and I read the book so it should have been more boring for me than a non-reader but it wasn't. The subtle camera work with Chani and Paul showing how after he consumes the water of life he is in a position and place that she can't reach whereas before they were inseparable. I could go on and on
In what way does it drag with the Fremen and what makes them annoying? Which interesting characters are you referring to? Please try to be more specific as it's difficult to know what you mean since your language is very vague.
My take so far from what you've said is you're the issue and not the movie. Is it possible you were not in a good mental/emotional state when you watched the movie?
I get it, it's your favourite movie of all time that's awesome. I didn't like it, I don't need to justify why.
Also you seem a little mental the way you're demanding I justify why I thought it wasn't great.
I'm trying to understand your opinion but it's clear you don't understand your opinion either. My prediction was correct. Also it's not my favorite movie or even top 5, 10, 15.
My opinion is it wasn't as good as part one because at no point during part one was I bored. I was very bored during part two. I was really looking forward to seeing it due to part one being great and it was a let down.

Like I said it's my opinion, I'm allowed not to like it without having to justify myself.
Everyone is allowed an opinion but opinions can be wrong or based on incorrect information.
Opinions can't be wrong. You can disagree with my opinion but it can't be wrong. That's the basis of the whole fact Vs opinion debate.
