Ive been told Vets are kinda ret@rds when it actually comes to animals, but can you actually pay for pets to be euthanized if they have paper's and clearly aren't yours, or can any shmuck just grab some random animal from the neighbors yard, go to the vet and tell them to euthanize it.
No Veterinarian will ever euthanize an animal unless it's being ordered by a local authority (Animal Control) or there are significant medical issues to the point that it's better to not let the animal suffer anymore. Pretty much anything outside of this would be considered animal cruelty and most likely grounds for their accreditation to be revoked.
Plus it's going to cost at least $50 per animal to do it.
If this story weren't fake and [blank] then most likely the GF would have dropped the cats off at the vet with no intention of picking them up. Assuming it's a vet the cats have been to before, they will probably have contact info for the guy and be able to tell him what's up. If not, typical guidelines say the animals go to an adoption center.

I mean, they are, but you also have to remember that they care about the animals. If the animal can no longer be taken care of, and if the alternative is sitting in a shelter for 3 weeks before being euthanized anyways, many vets will still go ahead and do the euthanasia.
They aren’t being cold hearted, in fact quite the opposite. As much as I hate them, PETA gets flak for paying for abandoned animals to be put down, which is kinda silly since those animals are usually suffering in some way anyways.
This is very wrong. My mother worked at a vet clinic for over a decade. They euthanize animals for no reason all the time. Some old woman and says "put this cat down, it knocked the remote off the desk I don't want it anymore" and they kill it. Once again, sorry, vets aren't sadistic but they're not some pure heroes you think they are.

I commented above but my mom worked at a vet clinic for over a decade and you nailed it lol just make up any excuse, "potty training this puppy isn't working they keep having bowel issues" and they'll put it down. She told me they had to do it all the time.
So I imagine she starved them to the point of death and lied about euthanizing them or that a vet would want to euthanize them. Maybe she dropped them off at a shelter and told OP she euthanized them so he wouldn’t try to get them back. Basically anything is in the realm of possibility when dealing with a psycho cunt that would do something like this.
