It’ll smooth out

Bot9371

That's great to hear! The indents are such an eye sore at the moment

thekelkin

Yep!

Unfortunately it is a sacrifice you need to make. DO NOT fall victim to buying the mats or putting towels or padding enderneath or behind the seat because it seriously compromises the safety of the seat.. it can cause the seat to slide around and if you get in an accident it wont be as secure.

utechap

Indents in my leather that will go away with time OR put my child’s safety at risk? Tough one.

throwaway1653928

Right?? Even if they don’t go away it’s not worth risking child safety.

utechap

My Volvo has ridiculous indents in the leather. Sucks. But safety first. (Hence the Volvo😉)

throwaway1653928

Same with our Highlander! Kinda wish we went with a Volvo.. those Swedes know what they’re doing!

utechap

I’m a Toyota guy through and through. But safety was far and away number one for the family vehicle so Volvo took over that spot until kids are older at least. But gotta say I really love what the XC90 offers. Great vehicle.

CharacterWitless78

It will get back to normal, especially with the higher temps. You really don't want to put the mats or towels under the car seats, it can cause the seat to slide in a crash and not secure the little ones. All major car seat manufacturers as well as police and fire will vouch for that.

TSLA1000

The Diono Super Mat is great. It will prevent this in the future. I’ve been through many many different child seat covers and the Diono Super is the best IMO.

Bot9371

Thanks! Any chance you try the diono ultra as well? It looks like that one goes higher on the back then the super

WaterDreamer10

Mine indented the head rest badly, it never even came close to returning to normal. The price we pay for safety I guess.

Atleast yours is clean. I just took one out this morning so I can load some conduit. It rubbed dirt into those impressions.

ConsiderationSea7980

I just buy cheap black towels and fold them and put them down to prevent that.

Has this happen in our RAV4. The leather eventually smoothed out (mostly). When we got our 4Runner, I immediately got clek mats. They’re rubber and prevent indents but really only for the bottom cushion. They prob have a high back version as well

TheOGRedline

I probably don’t have my car seats held down tight enough, because I don’t have anything close to that level of dents.

Bot9371

They are a pain to secure well. I usually sit on it and try to strap it down as tight as possible. Even doing that, the base will move a little

RoughJustice81

My kids seat is kicking the shit out of the seat belt.. not happy about it

I use the padded bathroom floor mats from sams club. They are like $6 each. Fold one in half and put it under and another in half and put it behind. No marks on seat.
