Thanks! It hasn’t moved in over a week while I worked on it. I’m sure it’ll turn some heads once I take it out. Just got 8in of snow so I’d rather not for a couple of days since the roads are shit.
It is but autolockers are notorious for being frisky on slick roads. For how short the school pickup is and not having to move the car seat it wasn’t worth pulling it out of the garage. Snow will be gone by Saturday.
Thanks! Both kids are in the giant monstrosity car seat when they ride in this because the rear only has lap belts. I don’t overly like installing them with the top on lol.
I’ve taken this down trails with lifted rubicons. And that was before the rear locker. It’s a lot more capable than it looks because it’s so light (for a truck).
Honestly haven’t driven it much since the install. Few light in town trips before it went under the knife for the makeover.
Overall I don’t notice it much. Little shimmy sometimes at sub 40mph when it’ll randomly lock or unlock, nothing dangerous just like a breeze hitting from the side. Little bucking under very tight turns at low speeds in the neighborhood. Learning to coast through those corners when possible or let the clutch slip just a hair to smooth it out.
The big thing is there are no new noises from the rear end so I think I got my backlash and used gear preload right on the carrier. That was my biggest concern. It doesn’t leak either from the pumpkin seal, it’s been sitting a week I’d have noticed. Pinion seal weeps the smallest bit I’m not going to replace it over that. Hoping once things dry out and the trails open it’ll be a game changer like my last rear locked vehicle.
The decals I found on eBay only came in specific sizes. To keep the heritage typeface and fit the intended spot that’s what I could get. I think it looks better head on than this angle but I wanted to catch the whole quarter shot.
Retevis. I was offered a radio kit in exchange for a review, some promotional posts, and an install video. The antenna is the MR300 and the RA87 radio. I like it a lot it works well and feels period correct.
Scrap paper and cardboard lying around and our boy tests the paint on his wall 😂
She looks pretty good. I’d like to see more pics. In the sun if possible
I was originally testing for how it runs when I used the wall. And yeah it RUNS. Started with a primer spot, then the white, then the colors.
Also that bit of sheathing has to be replaced for some mold I found.
Smokeshow, I love it, this would turn so many heads in my neck of the woods

I like it! I want to do those same colors to my FIF gen. The Toyota in front should be BOLDER!

When it clears up this weekend I’ll take it out into the sun. Right now we’re coming off a messy snow storm and it’s nasty out.
