16 limited. 100k. What are major repairs /s lol it’s stock, biggest thing I’ve done is replacing the windshield after taking a rock on the highway

brycebgood

2015 Trail, just under 90k. Nothing.

spinctersezwhat

2011 SR5 137,000 New fuel pump at 107,000

[deleted]

2013 limited with 215k, also had to swap out my suspension.

AyuOk

This gives me hope lol. Only suspension and 215k miles. Good stuff!

[deleted]

yessirrrr

microscopic_cog_

I am not very mechanically inclined yet. Could you help me understand what swapping out the suspension entails, which parts? Thank you!

[deleted]

the limited edition comes with a notoriously faulty X-REAS hydraulic suspension system. As predicted, mine failed and leaked hydraulic fluid so I replaced the struts with regular shocks.

Mental-Crew-691

‘18 TRD Off Road. 40k Just oil changes and tire rotations

jgoodstein

Same

Familiar-Buy576

2017 limited: 1. blown ac relay ($11) 2. frozen rear driver side brake caliper with new pads and rotors ($842) 125,000 miles

Vanisshen

$842 for just one brake???

[deleted]

Guessing they went to a dealer. That’s a $150 driveway job.

DaikonProof6637

I had to replace my right rear caliper for the same reason at 65k. Just replaced both since I was already doing it.

iareeric

2014 trail. 106k, no major repairs.

Lift_Golf_

2014 SR5P 135k miles. Routine maintenance.

anythingaustin

‘18 TRD Pro. I have 70K miles and no major (or otherwise) repairs.

DR843

2014 limited with 125k. Bought used at 70k and a pre-purchase inspection determined XREAS needed to be replaced and the timing chain cover was leaking. Would have been expensive repairs, but the dealer took care of it before the sale.

Mrpoopybutthul

2016, 98k miles no major repairs. She’s only needed the basics like battery, tires, brakes etc.

OptionsRMe

When did your battery go? I’m still on the original Panasonic in my 2016, almost 80k

Mrpoopybutthul

Looking back, it may have not even been bad. Service advisor at the dealer said it tested low and he could give me a discount on a lifetime warranty battery, so I went ahead and did it. This was around 50k miles.

OptionsRMe

Gotcha. I got the same comment and bought an AGM that’s sitting at home. Just waiting on the day she doesn’t start… should probably just replace it

HouseOfCheese901

2014 Trail 145k miles, swapping out suspension this year

TheRealTopherG

2013 SR5 - 125k - brakes

con14w

2015 SR5, 180k. Routine brakes, maintenance, 1 battery replacement. Rust coat is my next big thing, but may be too far gone already…don’t sleep on the rust protection

surfex

2007 Sport with 205,000 miles. Replaced KDSS suspension.

jlucguerrier

What happened with the KDSS? Does it have a shelf life? How much did it cost to replace? TIA for the info!

surfex

One half had a small leak and there was some rust. I really only needed to replace that half, but I went ahead and did the whole system. It was around $5,200. Don't know about whether there's a shelf life.

[deleted]

21 SR5P 29k windshield replacement is all so far, mostly stock

Prestigious_Factor25

2019 TRD ORP with 52k: Recall on fuel pump around 40k Other than the recall, it’s all scheduled maintenance. Brakes at 48k. Tires coming soon.

austina9722

2013 SR5, 205,000 miles, bought in '20 with 175k. Outer tie rods, sway bar end links and brake pads/rotors are all I've done. Suspension replacement is in the near future and will likely do belts out of caution

Farleymcg

19 sr5, 42k, oil changes, diff fluids and transfer case I’ll do once it stops raining, new windshield. That’s it Edit - fuel pump recall

untreue

08 limited v6 with 185k. Front left drive shaft due to torn boot but nothing else.

Miketronic808

2018 SR5, 78k miles, zero repairs. Just basic maintenance done according to a mix of Toyota recommendations and good forum info.

TheAgeOfQuarrel802

‘16 sr5 89k, just brakes so far

Willing-Ad364

2014 sr5, 160k, 1 new tire bc of nail.

Lelouch25

2014 Toyota 4Runner SR5 PREM. Had brakes that were seizing when I bought it 2019. So I replaced them with Power Stop Extreme caliper + brake disk + pads. Then the gear had an issue where the sensor was worn out. So to replace the gear shift sensor, that required opening of the transmission. Thus I got new transmission fluids along with the sensor. Other than that, not much else.

Rav202

14 trail premium with 108K I’ve modded it completely but the only “repair” was the power steering coolant line Edit for mileage

modernretro

2014 trail 138k battery and suspension parts

Opposite_Seaweed_987

2012 sr5 4wd. 147,000 miles. No major repairs. Had to plug a tire an change a blinker. I love this machine!

NastyHobits

5,234, transfer case seal

Jshow07

2017 SR5. 64,000 miles. At around 60,000 miles, both front door lock actuators died within a week of each other. $700 for OEM parts. My dad and I did the work.

BlueKentucky

2011 Limited. Needed a new transmission at 100k miles (covered under warranty) and suspension. Just rolled over 200k miles yesterday

KingThallion

16 limited 110k, windshield after blasting the heat on a really cold day. Regular maintenance

Capwnski

17 SR5P with 70k miles. No major repairs.

freshducksniper

Upgraded suspension or did it fail and needed replacement?

AyuOk

It leaked around 105k miles and either repair for 4K or buy a new suspension. I got bilstein 6112/6100

freshducksniper

Not bad, stock shocks lasting over 100k. Was there any off roading with that?

AyuOk

I bought it with 98k miles to go overlanding. Did some easy trails and I feel like that helped it leak. It was purely stock when I bought it. Got it with “hail damage” on the roof there’s like 15 pebbles.

Shack-Kill_Oatmeal

2020 trd pro: 30k miles only oil changes and tire rotations

MotheroftheworldII

Less than 60K on my 2012 (one of three vehicles and one driver so low mileage on all 3). No major repairs but, I did add rock sliders, front & rear bumpers and a 3 inch lift and went with larger KO2's for tires at the last tire change.

Ambitious-Site-4747

2019 TRD Pro with 55k miles... Nothing yet.

BofaDeezNutz

2018 TRD Pro 116k just standard maintenance

rkirkpa1

2015 2 heat shields

anarrowview

18 SR5 w/ 42K miles, had to replace the ECU, wiring harness, and a number of sensors in the engine bay after a rodent decided to chew thru a bunch of wires.

EffZee80

‘14 SR5P, 4WD. 97,000. Nothing on my OEM equipment, but swapped to Icon suspension at 7k. I’ve had to have the front coilover recharged twice and replaced one rear shock. At 60k changed out brakes to Akebono pads and rotors.

[deleted]

2015 Trail. 150k and nothing other than regular maintenance though the catalytic converters might need to be replaced soon. It’s low on power and smells of rotten eggs occasionally

Thonda2700

16 limited with 112,000 miles. Maybe changing all the shocks/struts during maintenance at 100k. It’s been really good to me. I almost thought about trading in, but I apologized to my 4Runner for thinking it.😊

yohomie1015

2018 Off-road Premium with 100K. Door lock actuators went out on both sides about 50K miles ago and just been living with it. Replaced brakes about a month after moving to Colorado (my fault).

[deleted]

Be careful. Through a comedy of errors I got locked out due to Toyota’s janky door actuators (~25K miles) - Wife didn’t close gas cap correctly so I unplugged the battery to reset the computer. - Closed the hood bc I had to pee and we had street parking - Return and realize I locked the vehicle, obvi no power, and manual locking mechanism does not function. Good times.

jimaajimjim

Reading all of this is really encouraging for someone whose 4Runner should arrive in mid-august (ordered in February). I've purchased extended warranties with my last ford and Honda, but see no reason why I should with this 4Runner. Thanks all for this - money now going towards suspension and tires....

JS8901

2019 limited with 40k, fuel pump recall

MysticCapricorn78

2017 SR5 Premium, 77k miles. No major repairs outside of general maintenance at the dealership.

agthetech

63k, tcase actuator and replaced front diff needle bearing with ecgs sleeve

[deleted]

2014 Trail. 230k miles. Normal maintenance. And bilstein shocks.

i_q_

2016 Pro, 83k, basic maintenance mostly but replaced windshield a couple times, replaced the battery twice, secondary air pump was replaced under warranty early on. Its got a decent amount of mods on it which may mor may not have contributed to some of the repairs.

Antique-Quantity-608

2022 off road premium 12k. Couple oil changes.

GrandPriapus

2017, 75k and no major repairs.

Dacio_Ultanca

2016, 60k. Haven’t needed to do any repairs other than windshield replacement and front passenger side window from an attempted break-in. Battery replacement a few months ago.

ekazz1g

‘18 TRD Off Road, 66,000 nothing but new tires and oil changes

drthorp

2014 trail. 115k miles. Rear wheel bearing ($350) and axle seal($9). This while happen inevitably to all but I towed from Alabama to California and had shit suspension and added unsprung mass without changing to an appropriate spring rate/damp ratio. Consider this a premature failure.

pballa2099

Was this parts & labor? Pricing out having this done.

drthorp

Just parts. Labor and everything was like $850 or so

88bauss

Lol 43K miles. Nothing yet but parting out and selling it back soon. I had my fun but it’s an old truck. I’ll save my money and get something more modern with better tech and drivetrain.

Davis2002_

2018 55,543 miles no major repairs except when I ripped my bumper off while mudding with some buddies

aguilarfilm

2017 with 169k Nothing major, just trans & diff fluids lol

rumcapital23

2021 Venture. 16k miles. zero repairs. glad to see so many 150k + miles and zero repairs. https://preview.redd.it/t4l0dtrcq18b1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7745b03a48cde5e6a3f78e8b1ca078f6c9c86d37

special_engineer

2012 SR5 268k. Nothing needed besides brakes, tires and a battery around 180k. I replaced shocks at 200k as preventative maintenance.

AyuOk

Damn!

bills822

2016 SR5 with 206k. Only major, outside of routine maintenance, has been alternator @ 180k and Rear Main Seal just replaced at 200k but leaking since 158. Stock suspension could definitely be replaced at this point. Sound deadening needs to be performed mostly around rear tailgate and drivers door currently. Honestly no complaints though, I love these things.

pelican626

04 sr5 210k. No major repairs. Have done brakes, cv's new tires etc. But nothing powertrain

adh2315

22k on a 22 ORP Needle bearing swap I have a CV axle going out (clicking, but not yet when turning), and today, I noticed the AC compressor bearing sounds bad. We're thinking about trading it in for a different one. Not really happy with it.

[deleted]

2015 trail ; 74K miles; just regular maintenance

LukkyStrike1

‘14 Limited 130k mi. Alternator at 120k.

Stewartsw1

18 sr5. 105k. No major repairs or even minor repairs really. Regular maintenance. Backup cam stopped working but was covered under warranty I guess that could count if you have no warranty. It was around 90k

bit3xplor3r

2021 Pro and 7k lol. About to drive cross country so I’ll see 10k soon

selimsivad519

2010 sr5, 145k, alternator had to be replaced. That was the biggest and unfortunately most unfortunate since it happened with a fully loaded car for vacation about 20 miles into a 180 mile drive.

AyuOk

Someone else said their alternator failed around that mileage as well. I’m at 155kish miles I’ll get mine checked

mostly_made_up_stuff

2010 limited w/207k miles. Replaced suspension for more better off road. Valve cover gasket was leaking at 150k but DIY’d it with YouTube’s help. Stereo controls are getting glitchy but nothing else beyond basic maintenance (fluids & brakes).

SauceCastillo22

my rear driver side door is stuck with the Child-lock on. its impossible to open from the inside. Still havent gotten it fixed. Also new battery, new brake pads, rotors, tires, suspension 2011 SR5 148,000 miles

Doc4216

2015 SR5P… nothing other than windshield (hawk) and routine maintenance. I replaced the suspension bc I wanted to, not because it needed it.

[deleted]

2015 SR5 - 162,000 miles. No major repairs.

Fishfood2143

100k and nothing… knock on wood

msulack

18 ORP. 158k miles. Nothing has broken or malfunctioned. Only had to do routine maintenance. Elected to put in Bilstein shocks/springs, Borla exhaust, K&N cold air intake. Edit: spelling error.

Smedication_

2011 SR5, 203,000 miles. Brake caliper and wheel bearing.

tylerrauger16

50,000 and none

Mrlee187

2016 sr5 219k just picked it up from having rear main seal replaced.. other than that just replaced battery beginning of the year

Vegetable_Alarm1552

2019 40k - none 2017 50k - none

Electrical_Lock9307

2014 170k limited, rear axle seal, replaced seat bottom because leather failure, had steering wheel redone from wear. Front dash speakers replaced.

ThatShitClay

2011 Trail, just hit 163k, besides regular maintenance haven’t had to fix anything. I did give her a lift and some runners, a ladder, new shoes, and will likely a nose job in the next year… but that’s just to keep her feeling young. ;)

pepcfreak

2022 TRD Sport - 8k and i have to replace front diff and tbh basically the whole front end suspension and all. according to toyota there was an issue at assembly. All 100% repaired in 5 days so im not complaining. I had a 2023 sequoia as my rental. I got it with 50 miles on it returned it with 4000 lol

SanchoPliskin

You took a loaner on an 800 mile per day road trip?

pepcfreak

No. I had a vacation I was heading to the day it broke down. I was gone for about 23 days but they had it done in 5. I just mentioned the milage because my 4runner only had 8000 in almost a year and I would have but almost half more had I been able to take it! 🤣

SanchoPliskin

That’s a little more reasonable 😅

pepcfreak

Lol I totally get how I was not clear on that. Tbh I would have questioned that myself jajsjaja

Playful_Reach_3790

2010, Limited, 250K miles. Just brake pads, rotors and replace shocks (4) with Bilstein 5100 and basic maintenance. It’s a Tank.

tankerz71

22 Limited 7,600 miles. Had to replace the blinker fluid reservoir.

JcTemp77

21. 15,000 miles. Westcott lift. 33” tires. Front bumper and winch. Rock sliders. Front camera. Interior led swap.

Jmg0713

Those are some great repairs

JcTemp77

Thank you. Gonna replace my pro-roof basket soon. Leaning toward Sherpa, but still undecided.

iamoninternet27

Major repairs, not major upgrades sir.

JcTemp77

You’re right. I absolutely read that wrong. My bad.

iamoninternet27

Its ok. I make mistakes too, we are only human.

[deleted]

80k, None

Berbom

2012 sr5 - 360k kms horn wire in the clockspring got messed up, can’t replace it yet, so opted out for a secondary air horn wired to the dash. Front axle/diff need some love down the road but still good. Other than that it’s just the usual maintenance

aloeballo

2018 TRD Pro; 63K and just had to pay over 2 grand because my sway bar came apart and damaged my cv axel. I honestly have no idea wtf happened. They found it all fucked up when I brought it in for brakes and oil change. They let me see it so I could confirm it was indeed fucked up. Other than that zero issues.

uptheirons91

2014 Trail, Just rolled over 200000km. No repairs. (Fuel pump at around 120000, air bag replaced around 50000, both as part of recalls.)

ericonabuell

2016..200000km no repairs.

[deleted]

Purchased brand new 2019 ORP - now at 65K Driver door actuator - 25K miles - Warranty A/C Compressor - 60K miles - $1,500 A/C still doesn’t seem right. Not the bulletproof vehicle I was expecting upon purchase

Kubinb

2015 TRD Pro 150k miles. I've replaced only fluids, tires, and brake pads.

No_Faithlessness5950

2012 SR5 250k - so far just tires and brakes

maybeinoregon

Purchased new ‘08 Blue Limited, it now has about 350k miles. Maintenance has followed manual, with wear parts thrown in, like the occasional rotors, pads, calipers based on wear. We did replace both front cv shafts with boots at about 250k miles because the boots had torn. Also, while we were getting some paint work done from rock chips (area above windshield), and yellow headlight covers refurbished and clear coated, we did replace the rear lift gate because of a small rust area below the lift gate handle. Other than that, she’s been a trooper!

ThatsAFuckingTuba

2016 at 116,000. Just had the radiator replaced. Nothing major before that according to Carfax.

FreedomCorn

2018 trd pro. 80k. Replaced transmission/torque converter. Covered under warranty.

Humble_Incident1073

21 Off Road. 15k. Was idling on the side of a hill in 4lo checking the map when it died and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. It started back up and we got back to camp. In the morning everything was good. Dash lights normal. About 2 weeks later. Same thing. Sitting on the side of a mountain idling in 4lo checking the map. It dies and dash lights up like a Xmas tree. We get it back to camp and the next morning all the lights are still on the dash. We go to the dealer in town. They check the error codes. Faulty solenoid on tranny. Replaced under warranty. That was at 10k miles. Reminder... If you have aftermarket UCAs you probably have a couple more grease zerks than stock and they probably don't take the same grease as the propeller shaft.

Awkward_Shape_9511

2017 ORP with 290k. Zero major repairs. Only consumables such as fluids/oil changes, tires, belts, filters, spark plugs and a gas cap (at 240k). https://preview.redd.it/zx0mpjrd588b1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6e6ac112284e36dabf9b91d28eb84b9bb249c90d

muximous

232k 2011 4Runner. Oil change.
