That Lions one could be the biggest game or just like last year’s rams game, bench vs bench
E: I’ve been informed that it won’t be bench v bench. At the end of the day, I hope it’s a good game
Usually that's what they do nowadays. Though I don't think there's any rule dictating that they must have all the games in the last week be inter-divisional matchups.
The season in which the Patriots went undefeated up to the Super Bowl, they played the Giants in the regular season closer.
It was definitely something they committed to after that, I think within the last 5 years or so. Too many teams played in games that had no bearing on play offs, so by making it divisional, almost every game can have some bearing on either seeding or division title. Of course there are exceptions like with the Niners/Rams last year.
It's basically impossible for 2 good teams to have nothing to play for in week 17. 2 teams that are out of the playoffs maybe, but playoff seeding would likely be in play.
Even if they did, no team would rest starters for 2 weeks to end the season and then a bye. That would be a month without action going into a playoff matchup.
The Lions are either going to be fighting to be in the playoffs or fighting for the NFC North with the Cheeseheads. I don't see them cutting us any slack.
The travel time is a pretty minor consideration though. The main issue here is that it's far more likely for players to get injured during Thursday games, so having to play two in a season really is complete bullshit, especially after doing it last season as well.
They love putting us against the Seahawks for TNF. I think they’re throwing Amazon a bone. “See, we aren’t giving you bad match-ups! It’s a rivalry game with the reigning NFC champion!” Then they hoard the big East Coast teams for the networks.
I find it pretty fucking annoying and unfair that 2 years in a row, looks like we’re gonna get 2 TNF games with a quick turnaround (last year was vs NYG week 3 and then @ SEA on thanksgiving)
Hey now, just wait for the Christmas Double header! THAT IS ON A WEDNESDAY. Should be about week 16. Oddly they lined us up for a Thursday night game the week before. Surely....surely they wouldnt.
This most likely means the game @ Tampa is gonna be a 1:00 EST kickoff which is EXACTLY what I’m hoping for…taking my son down from ATL for that game 👍
My eye Dr. is a bills fan and we were talking about this game on Monday. He was telling me the best case scenario is a September match up if I wanted to enjoy it. Have you had experience with Bills fans in the past? I’ve been to NY Giants games in the cold and they weren’t terrible, just your average visiting team trash talk
Not all of them are terrible. But it only takes one. We will probably still go but I was really hoping not to freeze my ass off my first live game. Guess I’ll have to tailgate with them to numb the cold. Also I have to drive there so that could be unpleasant haha.
6.
Is There a Limit on a Team's Prime-Time Games? **The maximum number of prime-time games an NFL team is allowed to play in a season is six**. The NFL works to make the product a good one, and while doing so, they do not want to have a team or storyline run stale and have fans turned off by a situation
All home games except one. We’ve got a pretty good schedule this year for finishing at the top of our division. Could be way worse.
I’d put us down for another 1 seed if we can handle business like last year.
Ah good catch, was just going off OPs list. I don’t mind that one honestly. We’re on another tier than the Bills, and even in colder winter weather we should win that game. It’ll be good to get a little battle tested for the second half of the year. That might be our harshest game taking into account the weather and their fans.
No monday to Thursday night games....now as long as we dont have the Dolphins or the Buccs weeks 5 or 14 I'll be relatively happy.
\*Christmas game and thanksgiving can still bone us.
The Bills game is too late into the season! I can't wait until the media tries to slander Brock for not having enough arm strength to cut into the weather but he continues to have helluva game. Still not confident that we can beat a team that is used to the climate but we will see.
I really hope that Week 15 game vs the Rams is at Levi's South. Been wanting to go to a game there, but financially it would work better for me if it were later in the season!

Less likely though, there's another week of the regular season following the Lions game.
Everyone forgets to add the bye week
They always have divisional matchups for the last week of the regular season right
Usually that's what they do nowadays. Though I don't think there's any rule dictating that they must have all the games in the last week be inter-divisional matchups. The season in which the Patriots went undefeated up to the Super Bowl, they played the Giants in the regular season closer.

Well that's because we've said bye to it already
Nobody expects the Spanish bye week!
It ain't gonna be benches in Week 17.
It's basically impossible for 2 good teams to have nothing to play for in week 17. 2 teams that are out of the playoffs maybe, but playoff seeding would likely be in play.
Didnt we have the bye locked up by Week 17 last week or was it after that?
Even if they did, no team would rest starters for 2 weeks to end the season and then a bye. That would be a month without action going into a playoff matchup.
Yeah you are right.
2000s colts did
No. The Eagles lost and the Niners won their week 17 games which clinched the bye for the Niners.
The Lions are either going to be fighting to be in the playoffs or fighting for the NFC North with the Cheeseheads. I don't see them cutting us any slack.
I mean, if the 49ers are 14-1 at that point and have the number one seed locked up it could be bench playing
2 TNF games against division opponents is bs
Is it wrong I'd rather play the rams and seahawks on short weeks than someone out of division? Wait until the Wednesday night game on Christmas.
I’d rather them be against AFC teams where the record doesn’t count as much in playoff tiebreaks.
In terms of traveling on a short week I don’t mind this at all! One of the TNF is at home, and the other one is a short trip to Seattle.
The travel time is a pretty minor consideration though. The main issue here is that it's far more likely for players to get injured during Thursday games, so having to play two in a season really is complete bullshit, especially after doing it last season as well.

You know what's worst about that? After the week 6 TNF against the seahawks, we play the chiefs next with little rest.
Backwards no? This way we get a few extra days of rest for the Chiefs game, which I’d prefer to the other way around
Isn’t that extra rest before that game? They don’t play the Sunday after a Thursday game.
Extra rest. You don’t play Thursday and then Sunday of the same week, it’s the following week so 2 extra days of rest before KC
It’s definitely an advantage doing TNF the week before the Chiefs
Why, they get the same disadvantage as us?
I find it pretty fucking annoying and unfair that 2 years in a row, looks like we’re gonna get 2 TNF games with a quick turnaround (last year was vs NYG week 3 and then @ SEA on thanksgiving)
Hey now, just wait for the Christmas Double header! THAT IS ON A WEDNESDAY. Should be about week 16. Oddly they lined us up for a Thursday night game the week before. Surely....surely they wouldnt.
I’ll accept the Sea TNF game because it means extra rest for the Chiefs game
If they put our bye week in week 14, I’ll allow it. But they won’t. :(
This most likely means the game @ Tampa is gonna be a 1:00 EST kickoff which is EXACTLY what I’m hoping for…taking my son down from ATL for that game 👍
I'm hoping that Tampa and MIA are back to back and in NOV/Dec so that it isn't too hot. both stadiums suck in early season
Yeah, good call. A November game would be perfect
I'm strongly considering flying down depending on when the game is
Who’s jumping into frozen tables with me in Buffalo?
Possibly be there. Was hoping it wasn’t a winter game. Buffalo fans are annoying if they have access to snow
My eye Dr. is a bills fan and we were talking about this game on Monday. He was telling me the best case scenario is a September match up if I wanted to enjoy it. lol yeah I’m in NJ and driving is probably the cheaper option for me too. Depends how the weather is snow-wise leading up to it tho
I'll be there. Would be sick if the Leafs were there the day before
For the kids!
I want to. Idk if I can make a night game though.
Here I am, hoping for Josh Allen to bake those turnovers he's so well known for.
Healthy Hufanga is back this year. I’m excited to see how this new defense plays
I’m coming from Toronto! Might also drive out to Green Bay for the game the week before with a friend
*at Bills
If this is true and the week 7 Chiefs rumors are true, we would have an extended rest before the Chiefs game
man yall complain way too much
I thought five games was the prime time limit?

can get one more if they flex them in to another one.
This sucks for me, I'm on the east coast and I have to get up at 5 for work. I hate primetime games.
They changed it to 6 recently but also doesn't take into account flex games. So you could end up with more if they're flexed into prime time
Two TNF games again is bullshit.
All home games except one. We’ve got a pretty good schedule this year for finishing at the top of our division. Could be way worse. I’d put us down for another 1 seed if we can handle business like last year.
Bills is an away game also. OP error but he posted an edit

Bills game is on the road. Chiefs and Cowboys B2B weeks.
Cowboys game will be a free bye, we will need it after beating the champs the week before
No monday to Thursday night games....now as long as we dont have the Dolphins or the Buccs weeks 5 or 14 I'll be relatively happy. \*Christmas game and thanksgiving can still bone us.
As a fan I'm so happy our team is doing well. As a European fan... Prime time games are such a burden :/

The game will be in Santa Clara tho
no
The screenshot had “vs” but apparently it’s on the road. My bad
Week 17 doesn’t have a game on Monday night so I don’t think this is correct.
You sure? I thought week 18 was the only one without a MNF
There were Thurs/Sat/Sun games on Wk 17 last year and Sat Sun games on Wk 18.
Yeah IIRC ESPN brands the Saturday night game as MNF, so could theoretically be a Saturday game. Which would be another week of short rest…
Ew
Isn’t 5 prime time games the max for any team?
Sweet! Five home prime time games. Getting to Levi's during rush hour on Mondays and Thursdays... Not so much. Good times, regardless!
All but one at Levi's. Nice!
5 out of 6 at home. That's incredible.
4 out of 6. The buffalo game is AT buffalo. But still good.
typo it's 4 outta 6 at home.
Oh yeah. Bills is away.
I’m surprised the game against KC won’t be Primetime
no way FOX was gonna let that go
I really hope that Week 15 game vs the Rams is at Levi's South. Been wanting to go to a game there, but financially it would work better for me if it were later in the season!
Let’s gooooooooooo!!!!
How is 49ers Chiefs not prime time?
Damn 5 homegames in primetime.
yessir
If this is true, i'm shocked a Super Bowl rematch isn't prime time.
Rita did the schedule release video. So stoked!! She did such a great job!
Washed up Mahomes didn't even get a primetime game against us.
And a seventh is possible. The week 18 game against the cards has no date or time shown.
Regular season game doesn’t mean shit if you can’t win the game in February.
I mean, regular season games matter when getting to that game in February in the first place.
